Shi Yan was waiting for the smoke to clear up. Naturally, it would take a few hours before the smoke cleared. He wanted to get enough rest before going into the battle grounds to check on the deceased. However, in his current state, he would not have much chance of running away, in case any problem arose. The amount of blood he lost was already taking a toll on his body. He knew that he would need at least 2 days of rest before being at full strength again. During these two days, he had already planned to move away from the battle zone, to gather more herbs and rest up.

The lightning stopped? Shi Yan couldn’t help but notice that there were no longer any claps of thunder. Selene’s root barrier slowly dived back underground, seeing that it was safe again.

Shi Yan was looking for her to discuss on food for the little tiger. Although there were 8 rabbits, he knew that it would not be long before they have to search for food again. He thought of raising the rabbits inside of the enclosed space for food. Likewise, other species should also be kept. He was unsure if the little tiger would accept eating the same meal over and over again. Seeing how she doesn’t know how to hunt, Shi Yan could only assume that Byakko pampered her to the extremes. Byakko probably provided her with all sort of possible delicacies or at least varieties. Since she was going to stay for an unforeseen period of time, it was best to prepare for her needs.

It didn’t take long before Shi Yan and Shi Yin could see the humongous black tree. When they approached 100 metres of the tree, it rose up to expose its skull like face.

“Big brother!” Selene cried out. Her roots detached from the earth, lifting up the huge tree body. Her tentacle like roots, slither on the ground, pushing her body forward towards Shi Yan. Some of the longer roots wrapped around Shi Yan and Shi Yin, bringing them forward even faster.

Shi Yan exited the cave, he looked around from Shi Yin and the little tiger. Although he could not see them, he could tell that they were playing from the ground. There were obvious paw marks on the ground, scattered around. Shi Yan followed their footsteps but did not bother calling out. He knew that Shi Yin would not be able to hear him, likewise, the little tiger would not recognize him.

After awhile, he found the little tiger lying on the ground breathless, while Shi Yin was putting lilies around her. Shi Yan couldn’t help but laugh. (lilies are a sign of peaceful/innocent rebirth.)
