Gu Changge was satisfied with the new virtual interface as he finally got to harvest the crop he had been growing for so long. His Fatums almost reached 10,000 while his Fortuity was almost 2000. Moreover, his other rewards were also substantial. As such, he could achieve much more as his plans were moved up. Most importantly, of course, was that his objective in the Overworld was accomplished.

Now that Ye Chen was dealt with, The Eight Barren Demon Halberd became one of Gu Changge tools. Though, the legacy of Ancient Sky Domain no longer mattered to Gu Changge. After all, the legacy of the Perfect Prodigy would only be a concern to insignificant people like Ye Chen. To the formidable Gu Changge of the Beyond, daunting powers were the most important, but of course, he would still need to rely on his System.

[Judging by the Heavenly Gift’s reward, the Void Marrow should be related to the Fortuitous One. Did Ye Chen perhaps possess some sort of hidden Bloodline Talent? Though, it no longer matters] Gu Changge pondered.

After discovering that he could control the void, he realized not only his new-found power could help him subdue his enemies, but also help him escape from danger. Essentially, manipulating the void was equal to manipulating space. Even in the Beyond, barely any forces had any knowledge regarding void manipulation, and any information pertaining to void manipulation was perceived as mysteriously powerful. Thus, said power could be handy for Gu Changge.

[For now, the Fragments of the World Seed can be put aside. I’ll combine them whenever I have the time. I now have the tools to make myself an inner world.] As Gu Changge sank in contemplation, he swept his eyes across the palace and gazed at the Eight Barren Demon Halberd with contentment on his face. At the end of the day, the absolute evil weapon was what he came for.

The dense demonic aura made his Demonic Heart tremble. There was some sort of deep connection to the abyss that intensified his desire to take over the absolute evil weapon. With that, he could return to the Beyond with more formidable tricks up his sleeves, and he no longer had to waste time coming up with redundant plans.

“Gu Changge, what did you do to me?”

As Gu Changge was thinking how to get into the palace, he heard Ye Liuli’s voice. Agony and complicated emotions were all over her face. Filled with anger, she was confused and cold. Yet, she couldn’t feel any resentment. She understood it was wrong of her to bear such emotions. Yet, for some reason, whenever her hatred for Gu Changge rose, she would be haunted by immense fear, and she was extremely devastated by it. Certain it was caused by Gu Changge, she was overwhelmed by remorse. She thought she was being smart, but in actuality, she had always been under Gu Changge’s grasp.

“What did you call me?” Gu Changge shot her a fascinating gaze. To be fair, he didn’t have any major interest in her. Nonetheless, her identity as a princess of the Ancient Immortal Race and the fact that she was highly adored by her elders could prove useful in the future. Thereupon, he, as the young master of the Gu Family, could receive benefits from the Ye Family easily.

Hearing his icy, mocking tone, Ye Liuli felt a ring in her head. The familiar feeling hit her once again. The ancient being that appeared before her fixated its ambiguous, emotionless eyes on her. Terrified, she could even feel her soul trembling, unable to shake off the desire to serve Gu Changge.

“Master…” Ye Liuli yelled in absolute humiliation as tears welled up in her eyes. Gu Changge was the man who killed her cousin brother, yet she couldn’t stop calling him ‘Master.’ She couldn’t endure the embarrassment. She wasn’t able to stop what Gu Changge had done. In that instant, all she wished for was death. Ever since she first met Gu Changge, nothing good came her way. Again and again, she faced humiliation.

[Prince Gu’s methods and mind weren’t something Ye Chen could fight against. The moment he decided to go up against Prince Gu was the moment where he was cursed to die.] Seeing that, Yan Ji pondered before retreating to the Soul-Mending Jade.

Compared to an ordinary ring, the Soul-Mending Jade possessed incomparable advantages. It could heal a Spirit of the Gods and strengthen a Primordial Spirit. Even to cultivators of Enlightened Noble Realm, it was a precious necessity. However, Gu Changge added a limitation to the Soul-Mending Jade. Without his permission, Yan Ji was forbidden from spying on the outside world through the Soul-Mending Jade. Afterall, he hated the fact that all these ‘Grandpas’ had the ability to watch everything that went on in the outside world. They would watch the protagonists at all times, and the protagonists would have no privacy or secrets.

Yan Ji, on the other hand, was aware of that. She never had any interest in digging up secrets of another person. Someone like Gu Changge indubitably held countless secrets. Therefore, what he was doing was totally understandable. Also, she didn’t want Gu Changge to misunderstand her. Ultimately, the Soul-Mending Jade wasn’t a prison. If she was willing, she could still travel to the outside world any time.

Thinking that, Yan Ji was deeply moved. Thanks to Gu Changge’s tacitness and consideration, she felt free and comfortable. She didn’t feel held back—a sensation Ye Chen could never provide.

And so, she silently sat down and began healing her soul. Back when she was in Ye Chen’s unremarkable ring, she could only stare into space, but now, she could utilize the energy in the Soul-Mending Jade to heal her soul. Only after experiencing the extremely distinctive treatments did she finally acknowledge the difference between Ye Chen and Gu Changge.

[It would take something more powerful than the tools of the Perfect Prodigy to easily penetrate his body and destroy the might of the gods. Seems like subduing him is going to be a pain in the neck. Though, I’m not sure if I could spend some Fatums for enhancement to defeat him. After all, every Spell could be upgraded with Fatums.]

[To be able to so-easily penetrate the body of the Perfect Prodigy, and bring chaos to all the worlds, this Eight Barren Demon Halberd must be at the level above the Supreme-grade Artifact or higher… It seems that, if I want to conquer it, I’ll have to use a few tricks. Though, I’m not sure if I could spend some Fatums to subdue it, afterall, they can be used to increase cultivation base and comprehension…”

At that moment, Gu Changge was thinking up plans to conquer the Halberd. As he was contemplating, he walked toward the palace.

*Zoom!* An intimidating aura spread as if an ancient were glaring at him. Usually, one would collapse to the pressure, but not Gu Changge. As the Nature God’s Chant reverberated, the gaze of the shadowy figure inside it pierced through the void to stare at whatever stood before him.

*Whoosh!* Enduring the immense pressure, he walked into the palace. He couldn’t tell if the aura came from the body in Ancient Sky Domain or the Eight Barren Demon Halberd. Regardless, it felt as if the aura could cause the skies to collapse.

All of a sudden, his Demonic Heart awakened. An alarming demonic energy surged around his body as projections of innumerable worlds subtly appeared behind him. Thundering sounds of kneeling came from each of the worlds as their people were paying respect to a blurry demonic silhouette. It was as if they sensed some kind of energy similar to theirs.

Soon, the horrifying aura from the Eight Barren Demon Halberd significantly waned and Gu Changge felt somewhat relieved. With swift steps, he entered the palace.

*Whoosh!* In that instant, something uncanny suddenly happened. The body that was penetrated by the Eight Barren Demon Halberd and nailed to the throne started shaking as a terrorizing anomaly appeared.

A radiating light whirled above the body and an ambiguous silhouette occurred as if the body was reviving.

[So that’s how the legacy was left behind. Whew, if I hadn’t killed Ye Chen off, this may have become a real nuisance.]

At that moment, even a blind man could tell something was up. Typically, there were two possibilities that could lead to the sudden resurrection of a person that had been dead for more than ten thousand years. One was a failed death while the other was a remnant or a cursed spirit that the dead left behind.

Judging by the situation, no matter which possibility it was, things seemed to be risky to Gu Changge now. He didn’t come to inherit the legacy but to seize possession of the Eight Barren Demon Halberd. In other words, he came to break the seal of the owner. If he had done so, the remnant of the owner wouldn’t let him off easily.

Quickly, Gu Changge had such a thought.

[According to clichés, the Fortuitous One must have eliminated every obstacle on his way to the palace and eventually earned the recognition of Ancient Sky Domain’s owner and successfully inherited his legacy. Given his sense of justice, he would undoubtedly strengthen the seal on the Eight Barren Demon Halberd. But now, not only am I going to take what belonged to the Fortuitous One, I even slaughtered him.]

Gu Changge wasn’t at all interested in the Destiny left behind for the Fortuitous One as it might pose abysmal threats.

Followingly, a figure appeared above the dead body along with a daunting aura. The figure donned a golden crown and a golden robe as if it was a king of ancient times. Gazing at Gu Changge, it loudly commanded.

[As the Perfect Prodigy, he is unquestionably the absolute ruler of the domain.] Numerous thoughts flashed across Gu Changge’s mind. At such a critical time, he could simply break the domain and flee, but that would mean his mission to acquire the Eight Barren Demon Halberd failed.

[Oh well, since I have the Domain Shattering Tasliman, I can escape when things get bad.] Gu Changge was rather calm as he speedily found a solution before he withdrew his demonic energy.

“Yes, Senior.”

“Ill heart and dark traits… The path of light shall not be bequeathed upon you.”

Right as Gu Changge stood still, a beam of light from the ambiguous figure scanned him, followed by a fear-striking voice carrying vexation that could shake the entire palace to ruin.

Gu Changge was startled, but fortunately, he cast a protective Spell on himself, or he would have been injured by the quake. Essentially, in his current state, it would be difficult for him to go up against the remnant of the Perfect Prodigy.

On the bright side, his inference was proven right. Instead of being a lifeless object, the remnant had its own conscience. Luckily, Gu Changge withdrew his demonic energy quick enough, or things would have gotten disastrous were the remnant sensed it. And instead of using words, the remnant would be greeting him with a forceful palm. After all, he shared substantial abyssal connection with the being that murdered the Perfect Prodigy.

[Ye Chen’s not exactly clean either. Not only was he drooling over his Master’s body, but he was also pretentious, acting so bold and cocky despite being overwhelmed by fear of death… If I were the Fortuitous One, this remnant would surely behave differently.] Gu Changge was rather dissatisfied with the judgment of the domain owner. As expected, he was treated with extreme hostility, and as the antagonist, he couldn’t help but feel violated.]

“Oh, wise Senior. Although I may be stained by darkness, my heart remains worthy. I bear the will to aid the righteous hearts and souls of the world. If you pass on your legacy to me, I shall cleanse the world of its evil.”

[Since it has a conscience, things just may be easier. Once I’m done with this remnant, possessing the Eight Barren Demon Halberd would naturally be effortless.]

Instantly, Gu Changge smugly spoke with an expression of a righteous warrior.
