“Miss Xue’er, it’s fine as long as you like it,” Xie Zheng curbed his anger and replied with a smile. “I’ll leave to chat with a friend. Sorry!”

After he spoke, he made a path for himself among the crowd and left. Zhou Yi, Wen Yipin, and his other close friends also followed him and left.

“Xia Yan, what’s so peculiar about this object?” Liu Xue’er asked in a low voice, and she suddenly noticed that Xia Yan’s expression had turned grave. The latter raised his head and said in a low voice, “Miss Xue’er, leave and take them with you.”

“What?” Liu Xue’er was surprised and she quickly questioned him.

“Hurry up and leave, I’ll tell you what happened later. Just put some distance between us,” Xia Yan said anxiously and stretched his hand into his pants’ pocket and held the jade ornament tightly. Several seconds ago, the jade ornament started vibrating lightly and the impure Undead Element started spreading outside.

At this juncture, Xia Yan couldn’t allow anyone to stay close to him, as they would get affected and harmed by it.

“Be careful!” Liu Xue’er realized that something grave had occurred and didn’t pester him. She quickly greeted the other and left Xia Yan’s side nonchalantly.

Yan Xiaoqing was confused and wanted to question Xia Yan, but Dong Feng had realized that the current situation was anything but reassuring and he quickly pulled her away. Xia Yan was quickly left standing alone in a corner of the hall.

The jade ornament was still vibrating as before and the Soul Storage Horcrux was no longer able to absorb its Undead Element, and it had even suffered the brunt of its counter-attack. The Undead Element inside the jade ornament was attacking the Soul Storage Horcrux.

Xia Yan didn’t dare to take this lightly and he maneuvered the Magical Power in his Magical Tower and started chanting in a low voice.

“Conversion!” After Xia Yan finished chanting the spell, he snapped the Soul Storage Horcrux. As a blue light flickered, a strong suction force erupted out of the Soul Storage Horcrux. It started absorbing the jade ornament’s chaotic Undead Element, but the amount of Undead Element in the ornament was quite plentiful and it instantly filled the Soul Storage Horcrux.

Meanwhile, Elder Shi let out a groan, and blood seeped out of the corner of his mouth. Astonishment flashed past his eyes and he quickly took the bamboo whistle off his mouth and put it back into his sleeve.

“This youngster is so strange and he’s unexpectedly able to break my magic spell,” Elder Shi looked at Xia Yan and he ended up meeting his gaze. They both looked at each other in silence for two seconds before they averted their gazes.

This hadn’t been an easy feat for Xia Yan. The ebony Horcrux was made of poor materials and could only store a limited amount of Undead Element. If Elder Shi didn’t pay heed to his injuries and continued casting his spell forcefully, then Xia Yan would end up in trouble as his other five Horcruxes weren’t able to store the Undead Element.

But, Elder Shi wasn’t aware of this, and after he detected that Xia Yan broke his magical spell, he stopped decisively.

“Elder Shi, what happened to you?” Xie Zheng had been paying attention to the elder and upon seeing what had occurred, he quickly came over and questioned him anxiously.

“I’m alright.” Elder Shi stood up and straightened his clothes. He said, “Let’s leave!”

“Leaving?” Xie Zheng was taken back and he said, “Elder Shi, our visit’s objective is…”

“Give it up, there is an expert here,” Elder Shi shook his head and his eyes shone brightly. “I have found the person who wrecked our plots twice.”

“Who is it?” Xie Zheng asked, but he suddenly realized his identity. “Elder Shi, are you talking about Xia Yan?”

“It’s him.” Elder Shi nodded. “This time’s plan won’t succeed, too.”

A pained look appeared on Xie Zheng’s face. He had taken out the imperial jade ornament crafted by Han Yidao for this plan and he gave it to Liu Xue’er as her birthday gift only to plot against her. Now, the plan had failed and he had lost his treasure. He had ended up sending her the priceless jade ornament for free!

“The jade ornament is in the hands of the youngster. We aren’t in a suitable location now, but tonight, I’ll cast my spell again and get rid of the youth. It won’t be so easy to take hold of my Magical Artifact,” Elder Shi said sinisterly.

“Fine! Elder Shi, I’ll listen to you. Let’s leave!” Xie Zheng was very disappointed, but he still didn’t dare to go against Elder Shi. The plan had failed, but if they could get rid of the person that helped the Liu family twice, then it would also be a pretty good achievement.

“Young Master Zheng, why are you leaving?” Upon seeing Xie Zheng and his companions walking toward the gate, Wen Yipin and Zhou Yi rushed toward him and questioned him.

“I have some urgent business,” Xie Zheng said carelessly and strode outside of the restaurant.

Wen Yipin and Zhou Yi were taken aback, and Zhou Yi said. “Young Master Wen, what should we do? Will we just let that lad step on us today?”

“Huh, it won’t be so easy for him,” Wen Yipin looked at Xia Yan resentfully. “Didn’t you say that he’s a freshman of Sihe University, then let’s get him expelled from it. The people in charge of Sihe University will surely help us for my father’s sake. After the end of the vacation, make some trouble for that lad and someone will come to deal with him.”

“Fine, Young Master Wen!” Zhou Yi quickly agreed.

Upon seeing Xie Zheng and Elder Shi leaving the restaurant, Xia Yan heaved a sigh of relief. If they really fought, then he wasn’t afraid of Elder Shi, but this wasn’t a suitable place for exchanging blows and spells, and he didn’t want to attract the attention of the crowd.

He took out the jade ornament from his pocket and said inwardly, “The Soul Storage Horcrux has only absorbed a limited amount of its Undead Element, and that old man won’t give up so easily. Since he can control this ornament remotely, then he’ll surely seek another chance to assault me. If I can’t break this magical artifact in time, I’ll have to fight against him once again… It’s so exciting!”

“Xia Yan, I didn’t expect to meet you here,” Qi Ziyu walked over with a sweet smile on her face and her sweet fragrance assaulted Xia Yan’s face.

“Ziyu, I also didn’t expect that you are a friend of Sis Xue’er,” Xia Yan smiled.

“You call her Sis Xue’er, don’t you? What’s your relationship with her?” Qi Ziyu raised her brows and asked curiously.

“Huh… We’re just ordinary friends, and since she’s older than me, I call her Sis respectfully,” In the face of Qi Ziyu, Xia Yan felt diffident for some unknown reason and he stammered in spite of himself.

“You have quarreled with Xie Zheng a while ago, didn’t you?” Qi Ziyu asked out of concern. “You should be careful of him, he isn’t a good fella.”

“Thank you, I already know,” Xia Yan said.

“Can you let me have a look at the jade ornament in your hand?” Qi Ziyu asked.

“This is…” Xia Yan hesitated for a moment. How could he pass this weird object to other people?

“Don’t be so petty!” Qi Ziyu’s eyes shone brightly and she started laughing, and suddenly snatched the jade ornament off Xia Yan’s hand playfully.

What a swift movement!

Xia Yan discovered in surprise that the ornament in his hand had already disappeared. They had once fought shoulder to shoulder, and he was already aware that Qi Ziyu was good at fighting, but he still didn’t expect her to be so swift. It could be said that she succeeded because she caught him off-guard, but he still couldn’t deny that Qi Ziyu’s dexterity was astonishing.

But he didn’t have time to lament over this, and he blurted out, “Ziyu, you should be careful!”

“Ah!” Upon getting hold of the jade ornament, Qi Ziyu let out a cry and her pretty face became flushed.

“Xia Yan, you were holding into this object a while ago… Are you alright?” After Qi Ziyu suppressed the evil energy inside the jade ornament with great difficulty, she questioned him in surprise.

“You are also alright!” Xia Yan was as surprised as Qi Ziyu. When the jade ornament had just been taken out of the box, it was still possible for ordinary people to hold it, and they would only feel a chill and some unease. But now, the jade ornament’s power had already been awakened by the robed old man’s spell, and Xia Yan had even forcefully absorbed a part of its Undead Element.

At this moment, the jade ornament contained potent offensive power, and it wasn’t possible for ordinary people to hold it, yet Ziyu could hold it without suffering any mishap, which meant that she was no ordinary person.

As for Qi Ziyu, she had also confirmed something. Xia Yan was no ordinary man!
