The sudden display shocked not just Yue Mingkong, but also Jiang Yang.

[Just what is that? What’s hidden within the Sky Pool of Death?] Yue Mingkong’s expression became grave. She was from the Upper Realm, and the Successor of the Unrivalled Celestial Dynasty. She was someone who ruled over billions square kilometres. Furthermore, her fiance was of high status as well.

However, the scene before her made her body shiver and her heart stutter. This wasn’t something that should appear in the Lower Realm. Even if it appeared in the Upper Realm, it would have made many ancient factions quiver with fear.

She could sense familiar energy within, though.

“Impossible. When did the Sky Pool of Death give rise to such a thing…” Jiang Yang looked aghast and in disbelief. He had put in so many defence traps here, so how could such a being materialise here? Its aura was enough to make anyone insane and frozen with fear. This was not part of any knowledge he had accumulated in all his lives, and his expression darkened.

The mist around Sky Pool, which had given the place its charm, had transformed into a storm of Demonic Qi and blocked out everything inside. He was a little worried about his World Purifying Green Lotus. [Did something unexpected happen? Just what is this?]

Within the swirling thick grey fog, a highly ancient True Demon was awakened. Its presence was powerful yet indescribable.

Someone had invaded his territory, awakening the World Purifying Green Lotus from its billion-year-old slumber to consume all its energy and reduce the world to darkness.

At this moment, a scene which terrified all, not just within the Sky Pool but also further away, began to appear. Many powerful beings felt frozen with fear and their goosebumps rose. On the horizon, thousands of resurrected demons started swallowing up the world, making everything dark. The light faded away as the sun and moon no longer shone. It was a sight reminiscent of that of an approaching apocalypse.

“Did that Immortal die at the hands of this unknown Being?” Zhao Yi’s voice shook from fear.  Even though she was in the Sacred Noble Realm, and was known as the Goddess of Sky Domain, she felt like a terrified ant compared to that. The weapon Jiang Yang had given her could not reassure her either.

“Die!” At that moment, a headless knight sped out from a cliff towards Jiang Yang, accompanied by a bright red light.

“As per the orders of my master!” A blood-red figure swirled towards him from a valley in a different direction, planning to consume him.

[Weren’t they beings I had bound? Why can’t I control them anymore?] Jiang Yang’s expression became further stricken. It was the first time he was so shocked.

He was very familiar with the two of them, as he had caught them and bound them to this place before setting up his traps. Both of them were in the Sacred Lord Realm and possessed unrivalled power in the Heavenly Star Realm. They were, however, currently hunting him down, despite the many Runes and Arrays which were under his control.

Jiang Yang became stunned. [Just what is happening!? Has someone invaded and taken charge of my territory?]

He had experience in such events, though, and quickly reacted by telling Zhao Yi to stop Yao Yao, who had undergone a drastic change. The tiny three-legged cauldron might not be powerful, but it was still a Sacred Lord Grade weapon. After activation with her Sacred Noble Realm power, she might be able to counter Yao Yao without much issue.

*Boom!*

Meanwhile, he was surrounded by World Principles. Principles and time itself bend as he activates the Celestial Seal. It floated above his head as he headed deeper into the Sky Pool to further investigate.

As the two murderous beings approached, the ground rumbled loudly. Traces of the Great Dao could be felt as he began to glow with encompassing light. Jiang Yang planned to use his techniques to stop them from coming closer . However, he had just broke the Symbol of Reincarnation, and used the Celestial Seal to kill all his enemies in Celestia Holy Land; if he utilised yet another technique with the Symbol of Reincarnation, he might destroy it and all his effort would go to waste. Thus, he had to hold back for now and not move so recklessly.

Meanwhile, the fight between Yao Yao and Zhao Yi has begun. Even though Yao Yao was special, her power had not reached the level of the Sacred Lord Realm yet. Zhao Yi could fight back for a short time after activating the Sacred Lord Grade weapon, but she was still weak and could not go on for too long.

Just then, Yue Mingkong appeared in the air, surrounded by mist and uxding ther aura of the Great Dao, while glimmering with heavenly light. A powerful forbidden weapon hovered inside her sleeve.

“Something has mutated within the Sky Pool of Death, so we shouldn’t go in until we find out what’s going on,” she told her advisors and the Golden Warriors. She waved her hand as a signal for them to retreat. The sudden rise of the thick grey fog worried her, especially the emotionless gaze within which could easily annihilate any being.

She frowned at the fog. She wondered if she was delusional, as she sensed that the unknown being was warning her to not approach it. This, as well as the unexplained sense of familiarity, puzzled her further. This was obviously not some unnamed god of humans, so was it a being she knew? She wasn’t sure if she was looking into it too closely

*Boom!* The grey fog blocking out the sky swirled more violently, and the energy within felt like it was trying to consume the entire Sky Domain. A giant hand suddenly shot out, dropping down easily as it was enclosed by the fog. It felt like this one hand could crush the world into dust.

Zhao Yi, who was fighting Yao Yao, became terrified when she saw it. However, it dropped down on her before she could react. It was as if the sky was falling on top of her. Space exploded, and her Sacred Lord Grade weapon went flying. Visible cracks appeared on it and its runes faded.

“Jiang Yang, save me…” She was pale with shock and desperation. Within the next moment, the hand made contact with her and knocked her down. However, her body exploded before it could hit the ground.

Jiang Yang, who was rushing into the depths of the Pool, frowned with dissatisfaction before remembering something. He then waved a hand, making a ball of light appear to enclose her remnant Soul and bring it to safety. If she died here, it would force him to focus on more unimportant things, get distracted and exhaust himself. After all, she was a Sacred Noble Realm servant.

After reducing Zhao Yi’s body to pieces, the hand did not pause in its movements, reaching out towards Yao Yao as if to catch her.

Yao Yao was now in a special state, her expression as cold as a god above mortals. She could feel her own existence, but could not control it at all. Her temperament had been altered by this energy as well, making it unusually cold. Even as the hand came nearer, she did not dodge it but instead tried to counter it. However, it hit her body with a loud sound. The momentum made her body fly into the air and drop into the Sky Pool.

“Yao Yao…” Grandma Yin Hua was extremely worried and wanted to rescue her, yet she feared the terrifying god above and did not dare move. She was surprised when it ignored her, and exhaled in relief. Not sure whether to feel thankful or not, she smiled bitterly.

At once, the Sky Pool fell silent. No other being existed except for the grey fog still lingering above. However, the terrifying aura was now spreading out towards the whole Sky Domain. A more terrifying force was being conceived within.

Yue Mingkong’s expression became more serious after sensing this. She and her army had shown up outside the Sky Pool of Death but did not dare to approach too hastily. She could sense a cold gaze concealed within the fog, which was directed at her as if to remind her not to be impetuous.

“What’s happening?”

“What’s this? Why is the sky and earth at the Sky Pool of Death cracking? The entrance is gone too!”

The sudden change in the Sky Pool of Death stupefied those outside it. Their faces had gone pale when they noticed the sky above it disappearing. They could not sense any life energy either. They did not understand what was happening here, yet it scared them.

The grey fog remained, blocking out everything within it. The ground and skies cracked and fell in before eventually falling to the ground in pieces. Flames rose from it and melted everything, the sight reminiscent of meteors falling. The entire sky above the place was cracked like a broken mirror. A strong wind blew as everything became a pitch-black emptiness. Within that blackness was a large ocean of emptiness, with some turbulence caused by astral winds; rumour has it that many ancient beasts were living inside. Even someone in the Sacred King Realm had to be careful when crossing it, as there were terrifying Principles which would suppress them and kill them.

This sight was shocking to the powerful cultivators from all over the Sky Domain. Their eyes widened with amazement as they watched the area collapse, with the Principals and the blinding light hovering around.

“Has it conceived an extremely powerful demon?”

“Even the ground and the skies have broken due to the powerful expansion. It’s no wonder that the Immortal had died inside.”

The powerful stared at the scene with pale faces, feeling that today might be the last one for the Sky Domain. Strong winds blew from that direction, which might eradicate the body and spirit of any normal Cultivator. Besides, many disasters were surging in from outside the Heavenly Star Realm, which might destroy it. Everyone became helpless at that thought.

Deep inside the Sky Pool, a green lotus surrounded by a thick layer of Chaos Qi had taken root. It released a heavy aura.

“Hmm, it seems that not everything is out of my control yet.” Jiang Yang had finally arrived thanks to the Celestial Seal exuding the power of the Sacred Emperor Realm. He was a little relieved that the figure hiding inside the fog did not attack him.

While he still was a little confused about the situation, it was not something he could control. He needed to gain the power to counter the being by becoming one with the World Purifying Green Lotus and borrowing it from the Dao Fruit.

Everything that had occurred today was nothing he had anticipated. Jiang Yang sensed that Gu Changge probably had come here with great confidence, not expecting to see such a strange being with no observable True Form. It felt a little like a Dharma Body, yet could not be explained as a normal one due to its all-encompassing power. Jiang Yang became more suspicious that it was an ancient god or True Demon who had hibernated here without his knowledge.

However, everything could be salvaged if the World Purifying Green Lotus was still present.

“Jiang Yang, what should we do now?” Someone in the Sacred Noble Realm could resurrect themselves from a drop of blood if their True Spirit remained whole. That was how Zhao Yi appeared beside Jiang Yang after rebuilding her body, as she was saved just in time.

“Help protect me. Block everything out and don’t allow anyone else to enter no matter what.” Jiang Yang became grave, his expression cold and imposing. It was the main reason he had saved her, as all his effort would be wasted if anyone trespassed. He had been confident in his setup of the place, as there were also many protective Arrays surrounding it. However, there were several deviations from his plans, which made him worried that something might go wrong.

Hearing this, her expression became serious as well. “All right.”

Jiang Yang frowned with consideration, then handed her the Celestial Seal and taught her how to activate it and wake the spirit within. Her Sacred Noble power might just be enough to activate it.

This Seal was unique in that the spirit of the artefact had not developed independently, but had been cultivated using the True Spirit of a living being when it was first made. This was one of the backup strategies he had thought of and could help reinforce her protection of him.

After calming down, Jiang Yang walked into the flower of the World Purifying Green Lotus. The mist swirling between each leaf made everything hard to see. In his opinion, the process of melding was easy, just a little time-consuming. As long as he had become one with the World Purifying Green Lotus, he would regain his might and be able to be all powerful again. Afterwards, he would be able to easily kill that mysterious woman who was hunting him down.

Just as he stepped inside, his eyes widened with shock and his expression turned stricken. He couldn’t help shivering from head to toe.

“How is this possible?” His voice shook for the first time; he no longer looked calm and in control. He could not believe that the supposedly dead Immortal was here, looking like he had been waiting for his arrival.

Jiang Yang’s ears began to ring with a rumbling sound as if he had been hit with a large bell. He opened his mouth with some difficulty, unable to stay calm. “H-how are you here?”

Gu Changge was sitting cross-legged on the World Purifying Green Lotus, surrounded by mist. Large amounts of Demonic Energy swirled and diffused around him, filling up every space.

He looked at Jiang Yang with interest. “Why can’t I be here? I’ve been awaiting your arrival for a long time now, Mortal One.”
