“Only one?” Gu Changge had a faint smile on the corner of his lips as he looked at this scene from the ancient battleship, but he looked like he was deep in thought. It would be impossible to rescue Sky King Zhi Yang from him if Purple Mansion had only dispatched a Quasi-Nirvana Realm Master. [Don’t they know that they are only wasting their time if that’s the case? But, Purple Mansion is not that stupid. They must have something hidden up their sleeves, and are just waiting for the right time to strike.]

Gu Changge had thought that the Purple Mansion didn’t have the courage to burn bridges at first. However, for the sake of Sky King Zhi Yang, they had even given up on their whole Sect’s territory and dispatched all their forces to this place. Thus. Gu Changge was wrong.

[Purple Mansion has put all their hopes on Sky King Zhi Yang. They might look like they are losing but that seems to be intentional.] Gu Changge also had a rough guess of their goal. [It is to paralyse me and make me lower my guard, isn’t it?]

[How entertaining. If that’s the case, it seems that many more people from Purple Mansion have come here. Just that they will stay away and immediately move after Sky King Zhi Yang is rescued. So, the territory of Purple Mansion is probably just an empty shell right now. Interesting. This way, the other forces charging towards your territory would be doing so for naught.] Gu Changge’s eyes narrowed slightly at that thought.

With a wave of his hand, a number of Sacred King Realm experts, namely the Ancestors of different Celestial Ancient Races, immediately appeared behind him. Their terrifying aura seemed to suppress the nearby space.

“What are your instructions, Young Master?” the group of experts asked respectfully. Instead of going forward to fight with the army, they stayed on the ancient battleship to protect Gu Changge.

“Go. Kill all the young disciples in the Purple Mansion Army. Leave no one behind,” Gu Changge briefly instructed before emphasising, “and keep an eye out for those with good aptitude. If you encounter mediocre ones, leave them be for now.”

It wasn’t that he was kind. Disciples with average aptitude wouldn’t be of much use in the future.

And if Purple Mansion was going to do something underhanded, he didn’t mind letting them know that he had no problem exterminating the Sect down to their last member.

Now that Purple Mansion was in a crisis, they would definitely take away a few disciples with good aptitude in order to ensure that their legacy continues. But judging from the current situation, these disciples should all be mixed within the Purple Mansion Army, and are currently fighting with his army.

“Yes, Young Master!”

After receiving the order, a group of Sacred King Realm experts didn’t dare ask for a reason, and their figures flashed by as they rushed directly to the army ahead.

*Boom!* Divine light surged that covered the sky. During the battle, Cultivators fell in groups that were so densely packed that numbers couldn’t be counted. The war immediately went in an entirely different direction as soon as the Sacred King Realm Masters joined the fight.

The Purple Mansion Army was already on a losing streak before that. They now had no choice but to retreat, as they had no means to retaliate.

As the killing went on, roaring sounds that shook the sky could be heard.

Blood splattered like rain while bones piled up. It made one’s hair stand on end how they could even smell the blood from a distance.

Chu Hao and Qin Wuya, who were fighting, also parted because of the scene in front of them. Qin Wuya wanted to take the chance when Purple Mansion and Gu Changge were busy fighting to go and rescue Sky King Zhi Yang.

Chu Hao, on the other hand, had eyes that were about to go mad with hatred. He had witnessed the territory of Vermilion Bird Empire fall to ruins in an instant, as the mountains collapsed and the cities were destroyed.

A legacy of hundreds of thousands of years had been put to an end at this moment.

He couldn’t hold himself back from howling as his eyes turned bloodshot. “Aaghh! Gu Changge! I will fight you until the day one of us dies!” If he didn’t escape now, he would definitely end up with the same fate as the Vermilion Bird Empire.

Meanwhile, the Capital of the Vermilion Bird Empire was filled with cries of panic and despair. When all finally understood what they were going to face today, they began to flee, only for many, who were not fast enough, to make contact with a blast of spurting waves mid-air. Thus, many instantly turned into dust.

This was the greatest catastrophe for the Vermilion Bird Empire. It was the end.

A sneer that didn’t have a hint of sympathy appeared on the corner of Qin Wuya’s mouth then. As he glanced at Tang Wan, who still looked in a daze, he suddenly remembered something important.

Afterwards, he flashed by as he promptly left the place. He then used a Communication Rune to notify the Ancient Being from the Lake of Reincarnation to come and rescue Sky King Zhi Yang with him.

“It has still finally come to this…” Tang Wan quickly came to her senses and looked at Chu Hao with a slightly complicated gaze before it turned cold. She, too, fled in another direction, leaving him alone.

To her, Chu Hao was no longer worthy of her constantly being considerate about him like before.

At the same time, Xiao Ruoyin walked over with her face pale.  [Is this the cruel reality of the world of cultivators?]

It was the first time she saw such a cold-blooded and large war. Even her legs went weak, and she almost lost her footing.

Both sides who fought in the battle, each individual was ten million times stronger than her, but still, they died in just an instant. They would collapse and explode into a bloody shower that destroyed both their body and soul.

Even though her stomach was churning, she forced herself to look at all this. After all, this was the world she had to live in in the future. However, she couldn’t bear it anymore after taking a few more glances. Human lives meant nothing in a war like this. Tens of thousands of lives were wiped out in the blink of an eye.

[Young Master Gu can stay calm even in the face of a war as brutal as this…] She started to feel a sense of admiration for Gu Changge. Of course, her feelings were laced with subtle fear and dread that even she couldn’t pinpoint. Before this, she always thought Gu Changge was an extraordinary and handsome man. But now, she felt fearful and uneasy. That indifference in his cold and deep abyss-like eyes seemed to indicate that he thought of all beings as mere ants.

Xiao Ruoyin forced herself to calm down, and after she walked to Gu Changge’s side, she couldn’t help asking, “Young Master Gu, have you witnessed a war like this before?”

Hearing this, he glanced sideways at her and flashed her that familiar smile. “It’s my first time,” he said.

“I thought you would be used to this, Young Master Gu.” Her beautiful eyes looked a little surprised.

“Certainly not.” He shook his head and sighed, “If it wasn’t for the Successor of Demonic Arts, I wouldn’t want to start this brutal war. However, if I don’t stop what Purple Mansion is doing, more will end up dying.”

Xiao Ruoyin nodded when she heard that. She might not understand it very well, but she could tell that Gu Changge only started this war to save more lives.

[As expected of the righteous Young Master Gu. It seems like Purple Mansion is the bad guy in this.] Her expression had returned to normal as she quietly thought to herself.

She already knew from the mouths of his other followers, that the man in purple that was imprisoned had colluded with the Successor of Demonic Arts to harm the common people in this world. Many had lost their lives in their hands. Thus, it indeed didn’t seem wrong for such a scourge to die.

“Junior!”

Just as Xiao Ruoyin’s thoughts were racing, a cold snort that suddenly rang out from in front, which brought her back to her senses. Her tender body trembled, and her face turned pale when she heard that. She felt as though her eardrums were so close to perforating.

If Gu Changge hadn’t dispersed the voice for her, her entire body might have exploded just now.

[How freighting…] She felt fear creep up her spine. [Just how powerful was the person who did that?]

Despite the far distance, the sound alone was enough to make the nearby stars explode.

“Good grief. Old thing, why are you bullying the weak?” Gu Changge calmly asked. With each step forward he took, his robes fluttered, his hair glistened, and there was a five-coloured divine light in his eyes. His whole figure looked like it was about to ascend to Immortality.

As he looked into the distance, there seemed to be all kinds of rays of light around him that turned into various Principles and Runes. Immediately afterwards, they morphed into godly weapons that had terrifying auras. Axes, hooks and forks, knives, guns, swords and halberds.

“Junior, are you provoking us?” A majestic figure appeared in the depths of the Purple Mansion Army, his eyes radiating astonishing sword energy, which seemed like it could split the sky open and break the universe.

There seemed to be endless divine light flowing around the figure as their whole body was shrouded in Chaos Qi.

The boundless sounds of endless prayers surrounded the place at that instant. It was as if they had appeared right after the world was first formed.

All those who looked directly felt a shocking, stinging pain that almost forced them to shed tears. Everyone was secretly horrified in their hearts!

This was just how strong someone in the Quasi-Nirvana Realm was!

As even those in the Sacred Kings Realm were rare, those in the Quasi-Nirvana Realm were practically invincible.

Now that a Quasi-Nirvana Realm expert had appeared, many who were secretly watching this battle were shocked. If this battle took place outside the territory, it would definitely be earth-shattering.

They had to admit that Purple Mansion was indeed terrifying and fearsome. After all, their army was dispatched abruptly from Purple Mansion, despite the fact that they were under desperate siege from all sides. Thus, Purple Mansion would have to break through and descend from a Space Tunnel to rescue Sky King Zhi Yang.

This was all the proof needed to see how important Sky King Zhi Yang was to Purple Mansion. Or perhaps, this was proof of Purple Mansion’s madness, when driven to a corner.

Even so, why would they abandon the whole Sect to rescue Sky King Zhi Yang? How was it worth the sacrifice? This left many shocked and confused. [Could it be that there is something special about Sky King Zhi Yang?]

Purple Mansion didn’t hesitate to start a war with many different forces for him, even if doing so would lead to its destruction. Thus, there were many who thought the sacrifice wasn’t worth it.

Three Sacred Emperor Realm experts soon emerged from the mighty Purple Mansion Army. Their faces were blurry as they were covered by Mist of Chaos, and their Dharma Bodies stood upright, as if they were standing under the starry sky.

As they waved, terrifying Principles pierced through the void and charged at another Sacred King Realm expert.

At this moment, the mighty aura from them swept all directions. Their frigid eyes were staring at Gu Changge, who was on the other side in the distance.

They naturally had seen Gu Changge forcing Sky King Zhi Yang out, and he challenged them into giving it a try. To see if they could save Sky King Zhi Yang. Those provocative and rampant words made the faces of those from Purple Mansion to become even more gloomy. After all, they just showed their Sacred Emperor Realm Master yet, they were still being touted..

Still, none of them dared to act rashly. They had learned from the past. They knew that there was a Quasi-Nirvana Realm expert behind Gu Changge.

One of their Sacred Emperor Realm Masters, who came to rescue Sky King Zhi Yang last time, had died tragically at the hands of that expert.

At this moment, the three Sacred Emperor Realm experts stood in the sky, and when they raised their hands, it turned gigantic, big enough to cover the sky. It looked as though they had made a new universe. Left with no other choice, they could only attack the Celestial Ancient Army in front of them to destroy them first.

The faces of the three of them were solemn. They noticed that some young prodigies of their Sect hidden in the army were being killed. Gu Changge had obviously seen through their plan. He was blatantly trying to wipe out their kind!

But at this moment, a golden brilliance that dazzled like the brilliant sun suddenly appeared in the Celestial Ancient Army.

“Provoke you? Do you still not understand at this point?” Gu Changge’s smile was still calm as ever as he presented something.

It was a Golden Decree, with a strange divine script, complicated and ancient, written on it. As it manifested in the void, it exuded a chilling aura.

Everyone vaguely saw the Golden Decree turn into a giant golden sword, entwined with hundreds of millions of golden heavenly beams. It was about to plunge into earth from the sky as the sun and the moon shattered, and the stars exploded. This was an unrivalled power that had surpassed even the Sacred Emperor Realm.

“This is…”

“A Nirvana Decree?”

“Young Master Changge must have anticipated all this, but with his strength, he may not be able to win against someone in the Quasi-Nirvana Realm, even if he sacrifices a Nirvana Decree.”

Those who were quietly watching were all shocked, and couldn’t contain the trembling in their voices as they spoke. Although the power of a Nirvana Decree was not as great as a real Nirvana Artifact, it contained the full blow power of the Nirvana Realm.

Even if the three Sacred Emperor Realm experts joined forces, they stood no chance against the Nirvana Decree. They were likely to be severely injured or even be defeated. However, besides the three, there was also a Quasi-Nirvana Realm expert, which made the situation somewhat unpredictable.

The three Sacred Emperor Realm experts’ eyes were cold with hatred as they glared at Gu Changge.

“Junior, you have wasted your reputation as the righteous and dignified leader of the young generation by harbouring evil intentions. To think you would frame Purple Mansion’s Successor and commit so many vile acts. You have sinned too much to go unpunished. Even if Purple Mansion starts marching to its destruction after today, someone will deliver judgement upon you one day!”

“You are still trying to drag my name through the mud even at this point? What a pity.” Gu Changge looked at them with an unperturbed expression before letting out a slight smile. “Forget it. Just don’t blame it on me since Purple Mansion is determined to bring about its own destruction. I hope you are well on the long road to hell.”

After saying that, the Golden Decree rose behind him, and an endless golden mist that performed all sorts of various ancient magic arts suddenly appeared as if it had been blown here from a distant era.

Gu Changge’s body shone with brilliance, and even his hair seemed to be glowing. With great amount of energy poured in, he activated this decree, causing it to erupt with the most powerful force.

In the end, the word ‘Annihilation’ appeared in the air, its oppression seemingly could last for an eternity.

This was an indescribably horrifying sight.

The expressions of the three Sacred Emperor Realm experts changed. They all sacrificed their artifacts to shield the sky. It was as if they could even contain heaven and earth.

The energy swept across the sky and the earth like a giant wave beating down the whole universe. It covered the starry sky and the universe, prompting countless to kneel down on the ground in horror.

As the war broke out suddenly, the extent it affected left many terrified!

The rest of the Sects within a million kilometre radius were swept by this energy, and everyone uncontrollably trembled as they knelt down on the ground. It felt like the world was near destruction.

Even if it was someone in the Sacred Realm, who stumbled into this wave of energy by accident, they would only meet their end. There was no second possibility.

The endless brilliance that burst out was extremely dazzling. The Sacred Emperor Realm experts showed their might, technique after technique. This was a sight no ordinary cultivators could often see.

It was almost as if they had come to the time when the world was created, where the various Daos were being formed, and various World Principles were intertwining and shattering.

As the sky trembled, stars turned to dust and countless cries of death resounded through the sky.

There had only been a handful of Immortal Wars since the beginning of time.

Not many had witnessed or participated in this kind of war before.

In the boundless territory of the Upper Realm, all the forces had many connections to each other. Many were intertwined, and they were dependent on each other. Thus, it was extremely difficult to destroy a faction. No one dared to act rashly unless they had overwhelming, crushing power.

The reason for that was because the moment an Immortal War starts, the factions on both sides would fight till one of them met their end. They would fight far and wide, until the universe had been reborn.

Even the best outcome would result in both sides having to suffer great loss. As for the rest of the other forces, they would only need to watch the top dogs go for each other’s throats, while they were the ones who reaped what was left behind.

Thus, no force was stupid enough to fight with another force despite knowing that there were enemies secretly coveting the spoils of war. No matter what the final result was, serious damage was unavoidable.

But currently, Purple Mansion’s destruction was inevitable, as they had to defend themselves against the besiegement of multiple forces.

Many even wondered if Purple Mansion would try to bring Gu Changge down with them. Even if they couldn’t rescue Sky King Zhi Yang, they were determined to have Gu Changge killed.

“Kill him!” This was a terrifying battle that shocked everyone. Above the sky, millions continued to fight, and blood flowed like rivers.

Endless divine light flashed by then. It was both the interweaving and collision of countless Principles.

The huge roars and cries that resounded thousands of kilometres made the sky tremble and the stars burst apart.

No one could maintain their footing under such powerful energy fluctuations. Their legs went limp as a chill ran up their spines, causing their souls to tremble. Everyone wanted to run away and leave this place.

The important figure in the dark observed the battle with his Heaven Peering Eye, and finally saw the three Sacred Emperor Realm experts coughing up blood. Under the Golden Decree, they kept retreating as they couldn’t bear the pressure at all.

Even though Gu Changge’s cultivation level was not comparable theirs, but after activating the Nirvana Decree, his power was like the Heaven had suddenly fell. It caused the three to cough up blood in an instant, as their bodies almost exploded to pieces.

Wisps of energy heavily dropped to the ground, like fallen leaves that met an autumn wind.

Drops of crystal clear Sacred Emperors’ blood, which contained overwhelming energy drizzled from the sky. Each drop was heavy, enough to cause the land below it to crack under its weight. Once they crashed to the ground, the surrounding thousands of kilometres were wiped of all life.

At this moment, the Vermilion Bird Empire, which was at the centre of the battle between the two armies, collapsed like a flimsy piece of paper, as what many anticipated would have happened.

The entire country was reduced to ashes in the aftermath.

Even the stars in the distance couldn’t bear the repercussions of this battle. They trembled, and seemed like they would fall from the sky at any time.

Whether it was the Celestial Ancient Army or the Purple Mansion Army, neither of them cared about the life and death of the small Vermilion Bird Empire. After all, in their eyes, the empire was like an ant under their feet. No one would care about an ant being trampled to death.

*Boom!* The Golden Decree reflected in the sky. Even though it was only one attack, the moment it released its energy, the three Sacred Emperor Realm experts coughed up blood, and their bodies almost shattered like porcelain.

“Do you still not plan on making a move? Even now?” Gu Changge nonchalantly asked as he walked over from the void with a charming look on his face, as his robe fluttered about.

The Celestial Ancient Army made way for him along the bloody path, where bones and bodies piled up.

Even though he was walking along such a path, his white clothes were whiter and cleaner than snow. Many, who were paying close attention to this battle were so horrified they had goosebumps because of this extremely shocking scene.

Other than the Golden Decree, he had a Sacred Emperor Grade artifact, as vast and quiet as mountains floating above his head.

The Purple Mansion Quasi-Nirvana Master hadn’t made a move. He was still watching all this and waiting for the right time to make a move, when many of the disciples of Purple Mansion had been eliminated.

As he watched the scene, his face fell, and his voice was chilling. “You have gone too far! You will get your retribution some day!”

“Retribution?” Gu Changge’s face stayed impassive. “I am Purple Mansion’s retribution.”

  1. Bruh…is aunt Qing Quasi Nirvana or full fledged Nirvana? 💀 Why so wishy washy about the details..
    .
The author really likes to use flamboyant extravagant words to describe scenes, to the point that it becomes hard to scale or compare between 2 different scenes with ample difference in Quality/Scaling..
    .
    Many Thanks!
