“Your Highness, please forgive us for our ignorance and violations!” Horrified, the party of Life Spirits knelt down as their faces were whiter than snow. It was as if they saw Death itself given how the complacency and smugness on them from earlier disappeared.

Seeing that, the members of the Lin Family had to suppress their glee. [No matter how strong they are, they still have to kneel before Prince Gu himself!]

“How did it come to this…” At that moment, Ye Liuli’s face blanched as her graceful hand grasped her sword. She was an intelligent young woman, and her intellect exceeded that of her peers. From those words, she acknowledged that Gu Changge’s identity was unquestionably more magnificent than that of hers.

Although she had the support of the Ancient Immortal Races from the Beyond, Gu Changge was the sole heir of the Immortal Gu Family. In fact, despite being her father’s favorite, she wasn’t the only daughter, while Gu Changge was very likely to be the successor as the leader of his family. Hence, his daunting identity was nothing she could rival.

With that in mind, Ye Liuli was slightly disaffected, wondering how Ye Chen had come to offend such a mighty figure. She thought she could have effortlessly dealt with him with her ways and background, but it seemed now she was too innocent to have assumed so. The more remorseful she felt, the paler her face grew.

“Lady Liuli, this has been a total misunderstanding. Why don’t you apologize to Prince Gu?” At that moment, Xue Yi attempted to convince Ye Liuli. “There’s no way Prince Gu would care about an insignificant bug like Ye Chen. You’ve been wrong the whole time!”

To Xue Yi, building a connection with Gu Changge was her top priority. [Why is Lady Liuli so foolish? Is this so hard to understand?] She was utterly remorseful, thinking that she should have gone to Ye Chen and eliminated him without Ye Liuli knowing.

“Say no more, Xue Yi. There’s no way I’ll apologize to him. He’s the man who caused Chen to live a runaway life like a petty dog!” Ye Liuli expressed with agony and resentment, reluctant to apologize.

Undoubtedly, Gu Changge heeded the scene before his eyes. Despite his unaffected, calm expression, he was scoffing in his heart. [What storm could this little brat possibly cause? Though, since she’s a princess of the Ancient Ye Family, she might be of some use. Besides, since she’s so deeply bonded with her childhood friend Ye Chen, he must be one of her weak spots. Anyway, the Ancient Ye Family possesses great influence and is said to bear a certain blood of immortals as their species of Ancient Immortal Race is quite close to the immortals.]

Bearing that in mind, Gu Changge revealed a knowing grin as the scheme in his heart became even clearer. After all, he was the transcendent of forbidden demonic techniques, and he even possessed the Demonic Heart. He could have a thousand problems yet lacking demonic trickeries would never be one of them. Thus, controlling a puny Ye Liuli wouldn’t even break a sweat.

With that, impatience surged in his eyes as he coldly said, “Again, what is the purpose of your visit? If I’m not given an explanation for what happened today, I don’t care if you’re from an Ancient Immortal Race…” Having said that, he spoke to the wind. “Ming Lao!”

“Yes, Prince Gu!”

*Whoosh!* Instantaneously, Ming Lao appeared out of thin air with an icy smirk. His overbearing aura instantly filled the room, scaring everyone else in the room.

Needless to say, Ye Liuli, too, sensed the suffocating aura, and she immediately recognized that the relentlessly mighty old man was the old serf whom she assumed to be no match for Xue Yi.

“Please do not be upset, Prince Gu. Lady Liuli is indeed at fault for what happened today.” Agitated, Xue Yi hastily blocked off the menacing aura. She could feel the formidableness of Ming Lao. Although their powers were limited to Partial-Enlightented Realm, his overall strength was still greater than that of hers. Thus, she wouldn’t be able to defend his attacks forever, though she certainly could pull Ye Liuli out of the fight. However, that would show her lack of integrity, and she’d hate to upset Gu Changge. Even if she failed to please him, she had no intention of offending him.

Regardless, Gu Changge completely disregarded Xue Yi as if she didn’t exist as apathy and condescension filled his eyes.

“Still wasting my time, huh? Since there are so many of you, I shall give you one moment before Ming Lao kills one of you,” he blandly stated.

Hearing that, the Life Spirits behind Ye Liuli were thoroughly shocked as they knelt down, pleading for their lives with horrified faces.

“Save us, Lady Liuli! We don’t want to die yet!”

“Please have mercy, Your Highness!”

“You vehement dog…” Upon those words, Ye Liuli’s face blanched as her body trembled. Never had she expected Gu Changge to force her hands so vilely, and he didn’t even give her a glimpse.

All of a sudden, Su Qingge tenderly served him a cup of tea and said with a sweet smile, “Your tea is ready, Prince Gu.”

Gu Changge shot Su Qingge with a look of approval. [Attagirl.]

“Lady Liuli, just apologize to Prince Gu. Why can’t you see it? If Prince Gu wished to kill Ye Chen, do you think he’d still be alive? Think about it, Gu Changge has such a domineering guardian protecting him. How do you expect Ye Chen to have survived for this long? It’s all a misunderstanding as I said! You’re a princess of an Ancient Immortal Race while Prince Gu was the young master of the Immortal Gu Family. All you need to do is apologize and I’m sure Prince Gu won’t trouble you any longer…”

Anxious, Xue Yi continued to persuade Ye Liuli as she wanted the best for her, wondering why she would go up against Gu Changge for Ye Chen’s sake.

“There’s no way he’s a good man.” Rage and disdain surged on Ye Liuli’s face as she glared at Gu Changge, as if she wanted to stare him to death.

“And that is one moment.” Then, Gu Changge gave his tea a blow before taking a sip.

“Yes, Prince Gu!” Heeding the instruction, Ming Lao swiftly swung his palm.

A blinding light traveled through the air. *Thump!* Not far away, a young Life Spirit with scales on his forehead, who was already absolutely restless, was killed in an instant. And that terrorized the rest of the Life Spirits.

“Save us, Lady Liuli! We don’t want to die!”

“We came because of you! How could you abandon us!?”

Gradually, the Life Spirits grew resentful toward Ye Liuli. [All she needed to do is show some respect and apologize, and none of us would have to die? But why wouldn’t she? Do our lives mean nothing to her?]

As Gu Changge calmly witnessed the event, his face always remained straight.

Looking him in the eye, Ye Liuli clenched her teeth as her body shook. Despite her immense vexation, right now, she no longer had a choice as remorse filled her mind. There was no way Xue Yi would back her up as it was obvious that she was on Gu Changge’s side, so she would definitely disobey Ye Liuli’s instructions.

Contemplating that, Ye Liuli could only bring humiliation upon herself. She spoke through gritted teeth, “I apologize for everything that had happened today. I am sorry. And I wish Prince Gu could feign some mercy…”
