The three demon kings were just outside the immortal temple, frowning at Ling Bao’er and Chen Changan enjoying a hearty meal.

[Are these people not at all afraid of demon kings?]

Hong Yi grinned. “What intriguing fellows.”

“What might’ve brought you three to my humble abode?” Chen Changan rubbed his full belly, belched in satisfaction, and asked.

Ling Bao’er gave them a curious look. [From how strong their spiritual power is, there’s no way a Golden Core demon could possess it. Are they Nascent Soul demon kings?]

The demon kings did not reply to his question, only looking at Ling Bao’er. Chen Changan felt a little neglected by their blatant disregard.

Ling Bao’er felt unnerved under those three hard stares, shifting behind Chen Changan. “Master, why are they staring at me?”

Chen Changan rolled his eyes, “How should I know?”

Touba Ye went right to it, “Girl, are you willing to take me as your Master?”

Touba Ye presented a jade box.

Three golden pills glittered as he opened it.

“Each has a Golden Cores demon refined within. These could be all yours if you accept me as Master.”

She Zini huffed, [Touba Ye sure is going for the kill, handing three Golden Cores.]

He wasn’t about to lose out. His palm shone purple and a red glowing fruit appeared.

“This is the Everlasting Immortal Fruit, taking a thousand years to bloom and ten thousand years to bear fruit. Eating it will keep you young and beautiful forever and ever. This is the only one left in the entire Nine Province Continent, one of its kind. He-he-he, it’s yours as long as you take me as your Master.”

She Zini’s method was the right approach.

People yearned to become eternal, but they would still age, and beauty, especially to a woman cultivator, was of extreme importance.

Across the whole of the Nine Province Continent, not even those lofty holy or divine women could resist the yearning of having the Everlasting Immortal Fruit.

She Zini thought Ling Bao’er was no different.

Hong Yi rolled her eyes, “She Zini, you’re so sly, hiding a precious Everlasting Immortal Fruit in your sleeve.”

She Zini smiled, “Hong Yi, I planned on giving it to you, but since we found such an incredible heaven’s chosen, this Everlasting Immortal Fruit is no longer written in the stars for you.”

Hong Yi shook her head, “Exchanging the Everlasting Immortal Fruit for a chosen disciple couldn’t be a better deal.”

Hong Yi smiled at Ling Bao’er, “While I don’t have an impressive gift, all I can give you is a promise. Take me as Master and the heavenly fox race will do all in its power to train you. With your talent, becoming an Immortal will no longer be a dream.”

She Zini and Touba Ye gasped, shaken up. The heavenly fox race had been around for tens of thousands of years, having amassed fortunes as well as training many ascending demons.

To think she was willing to go so far as to give everything to this human girl. It was beyond what She Zini and Touba Ye offered combined.

Hong Yi’s promise was out of the two’s expectations.

“Take me as Master and you might become Immortal. What do you think?” Hong Yi smiled.

Chen Changan and Ling Bao’er stared blankly at them. It took Chen Changan by surprise how the demon kings weren’t here for the immortal treasure, but Ling Bao’er.

What really got on his nerves, however, was how they were so open to poach his disciple in his presence. [Don’t they know Ling Bao’er is my disciple?]

Ling Bao’er was struck dumb. The demons wanted her and even showered her with gifts. Three demon cores, Everlasting Immortal Fruit, and the promise of immortality were all stuff Ling Bao’er couldn’t even dream off. Not even the Nine Swords Sect could offer such great things.

She Zini and Touba Ye winced at Hong Yi’s promise. The promise of Immortality was far beyond what any of their gifts offered.

Ling Bao’er had to know that taking Hong Yi was the best choice.

Hong Yi smiled, her beauty breathtaking as she glowed with confidence.

In the face of such incredible and enticing gifts, Ling Bao’er actually refused. “No thanks, I already got a Master.”

Chen Changan smiled, his anger deflated. [That’s my disciple, well done. No poaching will work on you.]

Chen Changan was sure there was hardly anyone else that could refuse the promise of immortality.
