Kousuke was able to get a hint on how the level was raised as well as an Increase in requirements of the Tower of Four Elements from an unexpected source.

The source was Esena, the fairy of the World Tree.

When he was asking Esena about the current status of the World Tree, she told him something that caught her attention.

“Big Brother.”

As Kousuke was lying on the sofa in the relaxation area, Esena suddenly appeared before him.

“Hm? What’s wrong? It’s rare for you to directly visit me.”

It was not rare for Esena to suddenly appear on the Administration floor. However, it was unusual for her to randomly appear before him. The exception would be when Kousuke mentions her name. Otherwise, she rarely appeared unless she called.

In fact, he need not mention her name verbally. Just wondering how she was doing was enough to sometimes make Esena appear in front of him.

But at that moment, he was not thinking about Esena. Thus, her sudden appearance came as a surprise.

“Nothing’s wrong, I just thought I’d like to talk to you once in a while… Am I being a nuisance?”

“No. Not at all.”

Kousuke smiled at Esena, who was unusually clingy to him.

Seeing his face, she seemed relieved.

“You don’t have to make that face. You can come see me anytime. No need to hesitate, okay?”

Kousuke said and reached his right hand to Esena’s head and patted her.

Although Esena now looked like a fully grown woman, Kousuke still treated her as usual.

If Esena did not like it, he would immediately stop. However, since she seemed happy, he continued doing so even until now.

She had a happy expression in her eyes as usual.

To Kousuke, it was like a cat he missed.

After patting her head for a moment, Kousuke asked her about the current state of the World Tree.

“So? When I asked you before, you said you had almost finished adjusting the Nine floors’ worth of area, but what else happened?”

The World Tree was responsible for regulating the flow of mana in the earth’s veins. Kousuke understood its importance.

“Right now, we already have those areas under our control. If we wanted to, we could interfere with the monsters that appear on those floors.”

“What? Really?”

“Yes. Monsters can now be influenced using magic and divine power.”

This was the first time Kousuke had heard of this. He did hear from Esena that the World Tree was expanding its influence over the earth’s veins. However, this was the first time he was told that it was possible to interfere with monsters as well.

However, Esena also mentioned that even though they could interfere, the most they could do was give orders to a certain extent, such as ‘do not come any closer,’ or ‘only this group is allowed to enter this place’.

Since it was the World Tree, Kousuke could somewhat understand why. Such means resemble a defense mechanism to keep out those who would try to harm it.

This function had existed in the past, but now it has been expanded to cover the entire Nine floors.

One floor was already quite a large area, but Nine floors were truly vast.

When Kousuke heard about this, he looked surprised as he stared at Esena.

“That’s wonderful.”

However, Esena tilted her head not really understanding it.

“Really? To begin with, the larger our species grows, the more we can expand our sphere of influence over monsters. As more years pass, we can expand our influence even more, you know?”

“Wow. That’s also…”

Kousuke was surprised, but not by much.

There were still several World Trees in this world. Some of them seemed to be able to influence an entire continent with just one tree alone.

The scope of Esena’s current influence is not large by comparison.

“I see.”

“Besides, it appears that I can still expand my influence as well.”

“Hmm?”

Kousuke was about to let Esena’s words sink in, but then he thought about its meaning and decided against it.

Thinking about it again, there was something strange.

Strange might not be the best way to put it. It was just strange in light of what Kousuke had initially thought.

Kousuke noticed the strange point in Esena’s words, and after thinking about it for a while, he asked, “What do you mean?

“Hmm? Spreading influence, where?”

Esena tilted her head in response to Kousuke’s question.

“What? North Tower still has more floors, doesn’t it?”

“Yes, but… What? Can you expand your influence over monsters even if the space is not connected? !”

“Yes, I can.”

Kousuke was surprised to see Esena having a curious look on her face, as though what she said seemed only natural.

Until now, he had thought that he could only have as much influence as he could expand through Floor Synthesis.

However, when he thought about it, he realized that even non-synthesized Floors can influence the earth’s veins.

Esena noticed Kousuke’s reaction and explained.

“Of course, it takes less time and effort if the floors are connected, but even if they are not, it is not entirely impossible. Rather, the tree is still expanding its influence little by little over time.”

“This is all new information to me. I only thought about monsters physically moving around, not the flow of magic or divine power. Does that mean that magic power and divine power also move to different Floors?”

“Yes, it does. Very little of it moves naturally, but they are not completely disconnected.”

Kousuke groaned at the unexpected answer.

Incidentally, the transfer of magic and divine power was mostly linked by the transfer gates originally installed in the Tower.

For example, the 1st and 2nd Floor were physically connected by a transfer gate. With the transfer gate, magic and divine power would be able to circulate on these Floors. If a transfer gate to the 10th Floor was installed, circulation would be established with the 10th Floor.

Of course, such a connection would cause minor change in the flow of power compared to physically connecting two Floors through Floor Synthesis.

After hearing Esena’s explanation, Kousuke went to Northwest Tower as soon as possible.

He was now on the Floor where the <Wind Jewel> was installed.

“Sylph, are you here?”

“Yes. What is it?”

Kousuke called out, and Sylph, the wind fairy, immediately appeared.

“Even if we can’t detect it, the Power of Wind is flowing from this jewel, right?”

“Of course.”

Obviously enough, the results of all the things Kousuke did in the beginning could still be seen on the jewel.

It was safe to assume that the Power of Wind was overflowing from the current <Wind Jewel>.

To be more specific, the Power of Wind was a combination of both the Magic Power and the Divine Power of the Wind Element.

Kousuke and his group simply called it the Power of Wind.

“Does that power flow to other Floors, not just this one?”

Kousuke’s question made Sylph look at him with a scowl.

“Of course…”

“…I see.”

Kousuke held his head in his hands at Sylph’s confident declaration.

He had no idea why the Wind Tiger had appeared after all this time, but he concluded that this might be the reason.

The Wind Jewel was causing the Power of Wind to overflow from this Floor, and it had influenced the other Floors.

Just as the World Tree had influence over monsters, the Power of Wind influenced the evolution of the Tigers which resulted in the birth of the Wind Tiger.

The fact that it took ten years to evolve meant that it took time for the influence of the jewel to strengthen.

In terms of the Power of Wind, the Floor, where the Wind Jewel was located, was influenced the most. However, its effect took longer because there were no summoned creatures that could evolve to possess the Wind Element.

The same could be said for the other Towers.

Since Kousuke did not know which dependents would evolve with each Element, it would not be easy to raise the Tower level.

However, Kousuke now had acquired a much better grasp of what he needed to do for the Tower to level up. He was no longer working in complete darkness.

At this point, Kousuke just needed to try and find a dependent that would be able to evolve on each of the Tower of Four Elements, on a Floor as close as possible to where their respective jewel was located.

Thus, Kousuke finally had now found a way to develop the Tower of Four Elements.
