Chapter 37, The Metal Monster King Has Appeared
by SilavinTranslator: Lizz
I walk for a few more minutes. It’s become like a maze now, and the risk of suddenly running into monsters goes up.
“Uwooooh!”
…But the monsters are mostly metal types and not particularly strong, so bumping into them actually works in my favor.
A Metal Big Boar jumps out, and I land a full-powered strike. It collapses and vanishes right away, looking kind of melancholic.
“Alright. I’ve taken down quite a few on this floor too.”
<You’ve defeated twenty-five. Very good pace. Let’s keep going deeper.>
“Okay. Oh, right. Is everyone getting bored? Sorry it’s just the same kind of scenes over and over.”
AI Miria keeps track of how many monsters I defeat, which helps a lot. But I worry the viewers might be getting bored.
Since I’m streaming, I really should think about the people watching. That’s what I’m thinking, but the comment section is overflowing with unexpected reactions.
: Awesome…
: Whoa, are you getting used to this?
: Even though they pop out so fast, you manage to take them down instantly
: You’re adapting like crazy
: Um, both the monsters and Kage-kun are too fast, I can’t tell what’s happening
Aoi: You’re taking down metal types so easily. Kagetora-san, you’re a genius!
: Compared to how you were getting tossed around at first, now it’s a breeze
: So strong…!
: I’m getting addicted to this stream
: I’ve never heard of a dungeon overflowing with metal monsters
: I wanna dive into this dungeon too!
: You’re leveling up at lightning speed
: It’s a nonstop parade of scenes that would make experts faint
: Too fast, lol
: Are you reading the metal monsters’ movements??
: You might be stronger than the famous explorers now
: Keep pushing forward!
: Aoi-chan’s totally a fan now lol
: A stream so good it’s got Aoi-chan hooked
: Seriously, instant kills!
: Hieeee
: Aoi-chan’s become a regular in the comments
: This stream is enviable in so many ways
: The comment section is jealous, lol
Huh? Am I really doing that well?
As I move through the maze, feeling a bit disconnected from everyone, I arrive at an open area.
At the far end, there’s a huge door with a red base and gold trim. But in front of it, a massive metal monster is waiting.
<The Metal Monster King has appeared. Watch out for its swift attacks.>
“Metal Monster King? It looks like a giant slime? Alright, I’m going in.”
<No, It’s a Metal Goomin. A gummy monster.>
A gummy monster!?
I’ve never seen a monster like that in any stream. As I approach, I realize just how huge it is!
It’s easily around five meters tall, I think. And it’s wearing a crown on its head.
As I get closer, the Metal Goomin seems to notice me and starts trembling.
“Alright! Bring it—whoa!?”
Just as I ready my Demolition Stick, it charges at me with full force.
I dodge, but despite its size, it moves fast. And as it turns, it starts firing off fireballs in rapid succession.
“Oooooh!”
Anyway, I keep dodging. When it charges at me again, I swing my stick with perfect timing.
“!?”
“It hit! …But.”
The blow sends its body flying. But after crashing into the dungeon wall, it just resumes moving like nothing happened.
<Compared to other metal types, Metal Goomin has high stamina. Magic cards are effective.>
“Ah, this card then!”
I pull out the magic card I’ve kept tucked away and try using it. It’s a spell called [Alter Ego] that I’ve had for ages but never used once.
The next moment, I hear a swoosh! But it only feels like a sound; nothing else seems to happen.
“Huh? Did something change?”
<Two clones have appeared for a limited time. They can also attack.>
“Clones? Whoa!”
I look around, confused, and sure enough, there are two figures identical to me standing on either side!
And every time I move, the clones mimic my actions perfectly. This is seriously amazing.
<Goomin is about to cast an explosion spell.>
“Whoa!”
I snap to attention at Miria’s voice and focus on dodging the incoming magic.
Boom, boom, loud blasts echo through the floor. This spell’s pretty powerful, isn’t it?
Though I’m rattled, I can’t afford to fall behind, so I hurl a fireball.
“!?”
For some reason, Metal Goomin flinches and tries to flee. But the corridor’s too narrow, and maybe it realizes escape isn’t an option, so it charges at me full force.
“This charge, I’ll dodge like this.”
I start to get a feel for its movements, so I smoothly avoid it and give chase.
“And it should move this way next – like this!”
My predictions start hitting the mark. I aim for the direction it randomly shifts and swing my stick down.
Then, my two clones and I all land our attacks. Goomin staggers hard and vanishes on the spot.
“Alright. I won!”
<Congratulations. You’ve defeated the Metal Monster King. It dropped massive metal materials, now being collected.>
“Thanks! I probably leveled up a lot from that.”
<Yes. You’ve leveled up significantly. Also, concurrent viewers have reached 800,000.>
“Whoa, eight… eight hundred thousand!?”
I check the comment section in shock, and it’s already blowing up.
: What the heck is thisssss!?
: Huhhhhh!?
: E-eh?
: What was that monster just now?
: You took it down so casually, but isn’t that probably the first time anyone’s found that monster in the country?
: What’s a Metal Goomin?
: The name’s cute
: Did Miria-chan name it?
: Its adorable look totally contrasts with its brutal attacks and magic
: How do you even catch something that fast!?
: I think that spell the monster used was Evil Flare, a super explosion spell
: That fireball wasn’t a normal Fireball either
: Wait, you can use clone magic…? Kage-kun had that kind of spell?
: Clone magic is insane. Does that mean triple the power?
: Isn’t it amazing how easily you’re defeating metal monsters?
: Strong strong strong strong strong strong
: How much have you leveled up?
: The streamer’s reactions are just superhuman!
: Wha-whaaaa!?
: You’re landing hits on metal monsters like it’s nothing, lol
: I was laughing earlier but now it’s just too impressive…
: You keep exceeding expectations every time
: Miria-chan’s voice sounds kinda happy
: You’re clearly growing stronger bit by bit
: Wh-what? Are you actually reading the metal monsters’ movements?
Everyone’s going absolutely wild. More and more red chat messages are popping up, and this is getting intense.
“W-whoa. Things are heating up. Alright, let’s move on to the next…”
<Yes. The next will be the final one.>
Looks like it’s ending after this. Feeling relieved after Miria tells me that, I open the ridiculously fancy red door.
