Chapter 6, Kagetora-Sama Has Leveled Up Significantly
by SilavinTranslator: Lizz
<You won the battle. Level has increased. Congratulations!>
“Thanks! That advice really helped a lot!”
It’s definitely tough fighting three at once. This is why most people usually form a team.
“Oh! Did something drop?”
With a hissing sound, the monsters vanish into thin air, but they leave something behind.
“A club, a bow and arrows, and a sword… Might as well take them back. But I’ve kind of got too much stuff already.”
I’ve got a small backpack, but these will only fit into a bigger one. It feels like such a waste, but I was thinking I’d have to leave some behind.
<Some items can be stored using your subscription bonus box.>
“Stored? Huh? How do I do that?”
<If you tell me which items need storing, I’ll put them away right here.>
“Really? Then can you take this sword, the club, and the bow and arrows?”
How would that even work? These goggles are so small, they don’t seem capable of doing anything.
Then suddenly, a strange rainbow-colored hole appears right in front of me.
“What the heck is that!?”
While I’m still in shock, the goblin’s dropped items start to glow, and in no time at all, they’re sucked inside.
<Storage complete.>
“No way… What is this? And how do I get stuff out when I need it?”
<If you just let me know when you need something retrieved, I’ll bring it out immediately. You can do this anytime.>
I’m so stunned I go past surprised and just sit there with my mouth hanging open.
“Wait, do people actually use this kind of service? As far as I’ve seen, I don’t remember anything this amazing.”
<Maybe they do.>
“What? Why so vague?”
<I don’t have access to the statistics. By the way, Kagetora-sama, how would you like to receive your mission reward?>
“Oh, right! Show me the screen again.”
I’ve totally forgotten, but I still haven’t claimed the mission rewards.
The window pops up right away. In addition to the missions I’ve already completed, there are a few new ones – defeating a goblin for the first time, and taking down six monsters.
I tapped the [Claim All] button on the right side of the window.
A few seconds pass, but nothing seems to happen. I look around awkwardly, and then suddenly, the ceiling begins to glow. A bunch of stuff starts falling from above.
There’s some kind of ticket, three summoning cards, and another card with some mysterious magic-circle-looking design I don’t recognize.
There’s also one bottle fills with green liquid, and one huge piece of meat still on the bone.
<You’ve received one skip ticket, three summoning cards, one magic card, a universal potion, magic cow meat, and 4 x EXP.>
“Whoa, I get all that at once? Wait, what’s a magic card?”
<It’s a card that lets you learn a spell. This one allows you to learn Fireball.>
“For real? I can actually use magic?”
Magic, a mysterious power that used to exist only in fictional worlds. But ever since dungeons started appearing, more and more people have been able to use magic in real life.
“But I thought magic was something you’re born with, and you couldn’t learn it unless you level up first?”
<By equipping a magic card, you can use the spell right away. Your mastery starts at 0%, and once it reaches 100%, you can cast it even without the card.>
“Alright, I’ll take this right away.”
<What should I do with the rest?>
“Can you store them for now? Oh, wait, I’ll take the summoning cards with me.”
Apparently, you can use up to five summoning cards. Anything beyond that doesn’t work unless you leave the dungeon first.
After Miria puts away the tickets and other items, I wander around inside the dungeon for a while. Eventually, I find a staircase leading underground.
At the bottom, the hallway looks pretty much the same. That’s when I start to notice something strange happening in my body.
“I think I’m feeling a little dizzy.”
<It’s probably due to the sudden level-up. Would you like to end today’s exploration?>
“Yeah, let’s call it. Wait, did I even level up that fast?”
Actually, I haven’t run into any monsters since. You don’t gain experience without beating them… or so I thought, until I suddenly remember something.
“Oh right, when I claimed the mission reward, it said something about EXP.”
<Yes. Kagetora-sama has leveled up significantly thanks to the EXP earned from completing your missions.>
“For real? Alright then, let’s head out.”
So that’s what triggered the level-up. Either way, I’m not feeling great, and exploring further in this state would be rough. I make a quick exit toward the dungeon entrance.
When I finally step out of the dungeon, the fresh air outside feels incredibly good.
“Phew, glad I made it down safely. Oh, wait, what about the stream!?”
I haven’t been thinking about the stream at all, but apparently, only one viewer was watching earlier. The comment section is a lonely void.
“Well, this is normal for a first stream. Alright, ending the broadcast. Thanks for watching.”
<Stream ended.>
Just like that, my first stream wraps up. I start to feel a bit better, though the exhaustion still lingers.
While heading back, I ask Miria something that’s been on my mind.
“What’s my current level? I want to check my status.”
<Understood. Status, open.>
“Huh. Okay, let’s see…!?”
I freeze as I look at the status screen inside my goggles.

“…What…”
That mission reward has just boosted my level this much? My max HP suddenly increased, which probably explains why I wasn’t feeling great earlier.
But what really catches my attention is how fast my level jumps. Can EXP from just one mission do all that?
“Hey, Miria. Is it really this easy to level up?”
Back at the agency, even after working hard for a whole month just carrying stuff, my level only went up about three times.
<Yes. Going forward, you can expect steady growth without stress, so there’s no need to worry.>
“…R-right.”
I don’t really get it, but the AI sounds pretty confident, so I guess it must be true. I’m exhausted anyway, so I just decided to accept it.
Still stunned, I wrap up my very first dungeon crawl and head home.
