    [People Met Along the Journey]

★Haradory: A village famous for its belly dancing during the Autumn Harvest Festival

Painter: A local artist who painted portraits of Ize and Hal on t-shirts during the Haradory festival. Since their faces were a bit plain and lacked distinctive features, the artist subtly modeled the portraits after old paintings of black-haired Sages.

★Bezbaro: A village known for its woodworking craft

Zoddoa: A skilled artisan. He completely misunderstood Ize and Hal’s situation and began crafting furniture and fixtures for them — bathrooms, toilets, even container homes — without asking too many questions. His local reputation soared, but now he lives in fear that Ize and Hal might eventually scold him.

Crafters’ Guild Receptionist: A Guild official who looked at Ize and company the way one might look at a used tissue. Sadly, this person is bound to get chewed out later.

Crafters’ Guild Masters: The leaders of the Bezbaro Crafters’ Guild. Upon hearing rumors of a marquetry bookmark, villagers rushed them for details. Unable to sleep until they confirmed the rumors, the leaders were so impressed upon seeing the real thing that they instantly decided to sign a contract — quick to act, if nothing else.

★Jasted: A large city, home to a Rank 2 Dungeon.

Kikuno: Receptionist at the Jasted Adventurers’ Guild. Always wears a faint smile, no matter the situation. Many adventurers have found themselves unexpectedly introspective under her cold, distant gaze.

Etta: Proprietress of the inn Sage’s Table. Burns with passion for recreating the recipes left behind by the legendary Sage of Cuisine. Admires Hal deeply for not only supplying rare ingredients she had long sought, but also helping decipher the ancient recipes. Secretly increases the bacon portion for Fieda’s party by 1.3x at breakfast.

Padre: Priest in charge of one of Jasted’s churches. Mistakenly believes Ize and her companions to be deeply devout. In a way, he isn’t wrong.

Ninth-Floor Adventurers: Touched Chestnut Bombers too carelessly and ended up covered in spiny burrs.

Fourteenth-Floor Adventurers: Chasing Queen Arachne drops through brute-force tactics. Often end up with poor-quality loot and worse tempers. Their behavior has earned them a poor reputation with the Guild staff.

Grilled Skewers Vendor: An old woman running a modest skewer stand, selling grilled Milk Toad. Recently popular among adventurers — rumored to have inspired new dishes at Sage’s Table.

Garyuz: Deputy Guild Master of the Jasted Crafters’ Guild. Unsuccessfully tried to con Hal, and was unaware all evidence against him had already been gathered. Only succeeded in adding another charge to his name.

Hassen: Guild Master of the Jasted Crafters’ Guild. A lifelong artisan with a soft spot for Zoddoa’s work. Known for always wearing overalls — his trademark.

Wailie: Contract manager. Prone to rambling once he starts talking about something he loves.

Dasha: Stablemaster where Take was raised. Disbelieved Ize when told her Coming-Of-Age Ceremony was only a few days away, and has been silently resented by Ize ever since.

Kenis: C-rank party leader staying at Sage’s Table. Asked Hal to appraise new equipment before purchase.

Elene: A petite woman — taller than Ize, but small by most standards. Soft-spoken and beautiful, she has several admirers and receives gifts regularly.

Odelya: A tall woman with a larger-than-life personality. Aspires to become like the Sage of Natural Talent and experiments with bold hairstyles, from afros to hip-hop-inspired cuts. Younger sister of Wardon.

Odelya’s Younger Brother: Already taller than Ize at age eight. Ize’s sworn nemesis — despite never having met. (Did not appear in person.)

Seroa: Complained about Odelya’s afro blocking his view. Slightly neurotic. (Did not appear in person. Only mentioned in a conversation between Elene and Odelya.)

Joe: Proprietor of the equipment shop Origin of Thievery. Prone to laughing uncontrollably. Somehow ended up as Ize’s self-declared rival over an unclear competition.

Fishmonger Lady: Runs a fish stall in Jasted. Acts as a contact between Ize’s party and Ivern’s group.

Ivern, Zew, Ryzant, and Poe: Adventurers specializing in foraging. All four are married. Will continue to act as Sharoella’s escort on her trips to meet the Sugar Mandragora. (Ryzant did not have a speaking role.)

Wardon: A-rank adventurer who met Hal’s party at Jasted’s west gate. Odelya’s older brother. Reached A-rank in record time. Towering at about 2.5 meters — twice Ize’s size. Age 28.

Josbal: Wardon’s companion. One of the people poisoned by a Basilisk. A childhood friend of Odelya’s, who considers him an older brother figure, though he often finds himself in mortal danger thanks to her brute strength.

Female Mage from Wardon’s Party: Challenged the Magekiller Dungeon. Failed her first attempt but conquered it on the second, roaring in triumph — a bold, energetic woman. (Did not appear in person.)

Duris: Head of the Potion Division at the Adventurers’ Guild. Named the Sugar Mandragoras “Jas” and “Ted.”

Sharoella: Guild healer and Duris’s wife. Cheerfully bosses even A-rank adventurer Wardon around.

Thirty-Eighth-Floor Adventurers: Fled in panic at the sudden sound of thunder.

Forty-Sixth-Floor Adventurers: Also fled from thunder, only to witness a massive tidal wave deep within the floor. Among the few who believe in the existence of the King Turtle. Later reported the disappearance of a swamp where the turtle had supposedly lived, suggesting the emergence of a rare variant.

Barrys: As a boy of 14, joined an unsanctioned monster hunt during the Deluge and was left with a permanent injury to his left leg. Now works at a bakery. Married the baker’s daughter after falling in love.

Kikuno’s Older Sister: Barrys’s wife. Headstrong, stubborn, and quick to tears.

Gado: Barrys’s 11-year-old son. Reluctantly helps watch over his sister Tanya, though he has no plans to become an adventurer himself.

Tanya: Barrys’s 10-year-old daughter. Stubborn and tearful like her mother. Once determined to fulfill her father’s dream, now in the midst of a crisis of confidence.

Chez: Barrys’s 5-year-old son. Often dragged into Tanya’s schemes. Worried about her recent melancholy. Classic youngest-child personality.

Fanclub Members: A mysterious group of Ize fans. Exact number unknown. Said to include not just adventurers, but also merchants and townsfolk. Anyone stared at suspiciously by Hal on the street risks being kicked out. Headquarters: Sage’s Table.
