After finishing many tasks, Kalian sat down and quietly closed his eyes.
Then, while circulating the Mana within his body, he slowly drew in and refined external Mana.
Soon he could feel the warm energy gathering inside his body. Kalian carefully began moving the gathered Mana towards his heart.
He was trying to create his Fourth-Circle.
At first, he could feel Mana forming a band and moving smoothly towards his heart. Since mastering the Third-Circle, Kalian had always succeeded up to this stage but had never been able to go beyond it. Therefore, Kalian concentrated even more as he carefully moved the Mana Band towards his heart.
Suddenly, the nature of the smoothly moving Mana Band began to change drastically. The warm temperature of the Mana was transforming into a strong yet sharp blade.
The transformed Mana flowed quickly into his Dantian (Somewhere around the stomach). As the tail of the Mana Band disappeared into the Dantian, the Mana Band heading towards the heart also moved backwards and was absorbed into the Dantian as if being sucked in. The Mana that should have formed a Circle changed into the source of Aura and accumulated in the Dantian instead of the heart.
Having failed to create a Circle again, Kalian uttered a brief word.
“Again.”
Today was the same as well.
Kalian heaved a deep sigh. He could feel Allan laughing in his mind. Allan transmitted his words without bothering to hide his amused feeling.
– Congratulations on acquiring even stronger Aura.
How could that be a compliment? Rather than hear such sarcasm, he would feel better if Allan just cursed him as someone worse than dog feces.
– It’s not easy to break the habit of wielding a sword, even if temporarily. I understand, so just know that you won’t be able to set foot in Cyries until you succeed.
Kalian awkwardly smiled at Allan’s encouragement-like threat.
The principle itself of utilizing Aura and Magic was not different. Thanks to the Boon of Syspanian, Kalian had gathered enough Mana to use both Aura and Magic without lacking either. Therefore, there was not much difficulty in manifesting the already accumulated power.
The problem was that whenever he tried to create a Circle with the gathered Mana, all this Mana would go to the Dantian instead. He was unconsciously following the process of accumulating Aura. Since he could not create his Fourth-Circle, he could not ask Arsene to teach him Magic even though he was right there…
This was exactly why Allan had told Rmain that Syspanian would weep. Even Allan felt frustrated watching all the overflowing Mana, only to end up turning into Aura.
Still, since the point at which Mana was absorbed into the Dantian was being delayed after each attempt, both Allan and Kalian were expecting that he would succeed before arriving at the Siegfried Territory, no matter how late it might be.
– Anyway, I understand. And because of what your father did, I’ll have to stay in the palace for half a month without being able to move around. I might find it difficult to respond to conversations, so please don’t worry even if there’s no response from me.
Kalian tilted his head at Allan’s words.
Until now, if anyone caused trouble, it was either Kalian or Allan. Rmain had never caused any problems. Kalian asked with confusion.
– What did His Highness do?
Allan was silent for a moment. He was a bit surprised.
Kalian had always called Rmain by name when talking with Allan, but Kalian’s way of addressing Rmain had changed. Allan thought this might be a change that occurred while catching the Blue Warbler, but he did not mention it and only conveyed his answer.
– It’s nothing much. Just my karma, that’s all.
Hearing these evasive words, Kalian unconsciously let out a laugh. It was not the kind of thing one would expect to hear from a Mage’s mouth. In any case, since Allan would have no reason to hide it if it were something important enough for Kalian to know, Kalian just assumed they had some issue again and moved on.
Instead, he asked something he had been curious about.
– So, have you decided what to do about Lannen Beurisen?
Allan didn’t answer Kalian’s question for a while.
During the interrogation of Hale Latran, it would be revealed that Hale had sold Divine Artifacts to the Beurisen Trader’s Guild. What that meant was all too clear, so if that fact became public, it was obvious that the moment it did, everyone, including the Marquis Beurisen, would know who Lannen was truly loyal to.
Therefore, Rmain had to decide whether to hide this fact or reveal it to seek advantages. And Kalian was asking about the result of that deliberation.
Words were transmitted from Allan with a solemn feeling.
– He hasn’t decided yet. It seems he’s gauging how the fire might spread, so let’s wait and see for now.
If it were simply a fight between father and son, it wouldn’t matter whether he changed his mind or not. However, the problem was that the body of the Beurisen House, where the fight would take place, was too large.
Not only could their fight turn into a civil war, but it could also potentially escalate into a power struggle between the First and Second Princes.
– His Highness must be worried about the Princes’ fighting.
When Kalian, the culprit who had brought this problem to their table, said this, Allan laughed.
– Rmain wasn’t an only son, so how could he not know the ramifications of his decision? But, this is not something you need to worry about. Just focus on walking your own path, my Disciple.
Respecting Rmain, who was contemplating the many possible outcomes that Lannen’s betrayal might bring, Kalian simply replied that he understood instead of offering different opinions.
Though he thought the conversation would end there since Allan had said he needed to enter the Royal Palace soon, Allan transmitted more.
– A maid named Merlin came. She said that the profits have been sent from the Hwiteurin Territory, and she asked what should be done with it since you’re absent. How would you like me to handle it?
– Ah. So it’s that time already.
This meant Kalian’s safe needed to be opened again. Kalian explained the location of the safe and how to deactivate the Magic Pattern while temporarily entrusting its management to Allan. And with those words, he cut off the Mana he had been feeding into the ring.

Allan had a large luggage bag in his hands.
Allan certainly possessed a magic bag that would not increase in size or weight no matter what was put in it. Nevertheless, he had brought this luggage bag as big as himself, and furthermore, without ordering someone else or using magic, he was carrying it himself while struggling.
Rmain, who easily caught onto his intention, asked in a monotone voice.
“Are you saying I should feel sorry?”
“I’m glad you at least recognise that much.”
Allan, who had deliberately carried the luggage bag all the way to beside Rmain’s desk and placed it down, nodded and answered. Then, showing his palms with deep marks from the bag handles to Rmain, he beseeched.
“Because Your Highness cared for your son too much, this old man is suffering like this. What will you do about this, Your Highness?”
Rmain answered while moving his eyes to the documents he had been looking at.
“If only I could trust those who aren’t my swords.”
“Even so, what if you really send the Caera Knights?”
Allan’s eyes lifted.
Rmain had clearly decided to send the Caera Knights. However, after learning that Beurisen was deeply involved in this matter, he immediately dispatched them. And he did this in that brief moment while Allan was looking for the Royal Palace’s messenger bird manager to do what Kalian had asked of him.
In short, Rmain’s dispatch was nothing short of hasty.
As a result, Allan had to come to the Royal Palace carrying his huge luggage. After all, he was now in charge of guarding Rmain in place of the Caera knights, of whom only ten were left behind.
“If Your Highness shows such special treatment only to Prince Kalian, it won’t be good for the Prince right now. Prince Kalian’s lifeline gets cut each time others think you’re showing favouritism. Weren’t you someone who showed no interest in anyone to prevent such things from happening?”
Rmain nodded as if to say not to worry. It meant he had already thought about this matter.
“That’s why I’ve arranged to have lunch with both Princes tomorrow.”
“Are you saying you’re placing one meal and the Caera Knights on the same scale?”
“It’s also to see how my other two boys get along.”
He meant to see if there were signs of a power struggle between the two Princes.
“There’s nothing to see. It would be strange if blood wasn’t already flying.”
After saying this, Allan walked to the sofa and sat down heavily. Watching him, Rmain adjusted his glasses and asked.
“In your view, is their relationship that bad?”
Towards Rmain, who had reached the level of examining things one by one but did not have the mindset to look at all three at once, Allan’s mouth curved up. He had ended up doing guard duty that was not even in his list of duties. Seeing this, Rmain quickly stopped him.
“No. Don’t say anything. I understand.”
Allan, who was about to tell him that even fighting dogs would get along better than the Princes, nodded and smiled brightly.
[What on earth is Kalian thinking when he picked this man as his Master?]
Rmain, who ended up spending the most time with Allan, briefly looked in the direction where Latran was.

Before going to sleep.
While resting and drinking cold mint tea sitting across from Ian, Arsene came to visit Kalian. After putting down the Divine Artifacts taken from Hale, Arsene said this to Kalian, who was thanking him for his hard work.
“Watching Count Latran’s words and actions were not pleasant. If I may dare share my thoughts, I believe further punishment for him is necessary.”
Kalian showed an expression as if he had expected this and asked.
“What did he say?”
To this, Arsene asked back with a troubled face.
“Would it be alright for me to relay those disrespectful contents to you, Your Highness?”
Generally, Mages have excellent memory. This was because there are numerous things they need to memorize, such as complex Spell Formulas, Magic Circle Compositions, Mana Arrangements, and so on.
Arsene, who was chosen as the only Mage to guard Kalian, was among the most excellent in terms of memory even among Mages. Therefore, it would not have been particularly difficult for Arsene to perfectly memorize Hale’s brief words, including the intonation.
Kalian, who overlooked this, nodded without much thought.
And he got cursed at.
So Kalian quickly repented his stern attitude towards Arsene until then, and sent Hale, who he had planned to confine to a room, to the cell right next to the torture chamber.
It was the dampest and darkest cell among the underground prison cells. It was a measure meant to make him learn with his whole body what might be living under the straw spread in such a place. After all, the crime of insulting the Royal Family was an offense that could be punished sufficiently even with a Prince’s authority.
Afterward, Kalian either discussed Magic with Arsene, exchanged swords with Kyrie and pointed out things to fix, or chatted with Ian while waiting for the Knight Order to come.
And after some time…
“It seems to be the Caera Knight Order…”
Kalian’s mouth dropped open as he watched the Caera Knights, majestic in their bearing, enter Latran. It did not take even a blink of an eye to understand why Allan had to stay in the Royal Palace, and why he had said it was his karma.
Caera rested for exactly one day after arriving in Latran.
They immediately departed for Cyries with two prisoners, Eila and Hale, excluding Norton who ‘died’ from sudden cardiac arrest.
Of course, Norton, who had woken up well again after being sent out of the castle following his death, would be heading towards the Hwiteurin Territory with his wife. His new identity documents were scheduled to be delivered to the territory through someone sent by Allan.
“I hope you have a safe journey. Thank you so much for giving me a new lease on life.”
Thus, Kalian received words of gratitude from Malcom, who would serve as the acting territory administrator until the new Lord arrived, and left Latran.
Time passed again.
Hale’s title was revoked, and he was sentenced to spend his life in prison.
And news came that Eila’s sentence had been carried out.
Kalian, who heard Allan’s words while looking at Hirisca Forest, which was just starting to come into view, simply nodded.
