Despite that, Shui Yuan appeared to be in a dilemma as she remained silent for a long time. It was as though she was trying to ponder how to put it into words. Or, perhaps she found it hard to tell them about it.

“Second Senior Sister, just tell us about it straight away. We’re not outsiders,” Lu Ye said.

He had heard Zhao Che’s order clearly. At least one of them from the Crimson Blood Sect had to head to a place called Grand Sky City and wait for their command in three days.

He had no idea why Shui Yuan, a Divine Ocean Realm Master, respectfully accepted an order from Zhao Che, a Real Lake Realm Master, nor did he know where Grand Sky City was. However, Zhao Che had glanced briefly at him before he left, so Lu Ye had a feeling that this matter had something to do with him.

Upon hearing his words, Shui Yuan let out a sigh and said, “In the cultivation world of Jiu Zhou, the Grand Sky Coalition and Thousand Demon Ridge have been fighting each other for thousands of years. Even independent cultivators who are not attached to any Sect can’t avoid getting into the conflicts.”

Although independent cultivators were not part of any Sect, they belonged to either side. It could be said that every cultivator with a Battlefield Imprint was on one of the sides.

There was no doubt that the two independent cultivators that Lu Ye had come across in Mount Ao belonged to the Grand Sky Coalition. If they were from Thousand Demon Ridge, they wouldn’t dare stay in Mount Ao.

“When you were in the Spirit Creek Realm and stayed on the Spirit Creek Battlefield, you contended with your enemies with the support from our Outpost. Now that you’re in the Cloud River Realm, the fight continues even though there’s no longer an Outpost,” Shui Yuan said. “Besides the two Battlefields, the entire Jiu Zhou is actually the biggest battleground. It’s just that you’ve never come into contact with such a matter.”

She continued, “It’s not that you’re weak. It’s just that Old Man has suppressed the matter. Certainly, Deputy Coalition Leader Pang from the Righteous Sect plays a key role in this as well. Without his support, Old Man couldn’t have pushed the matter aside for so long.”

Lu Ye frowned. “What’s the matter?”

Shui Yuan replied, “Joining Bing Zhou Watch.”

    “Bing Zhou Watch?”

“There are a total of nine continents in Jiu Zhou, which are Tian Zhou, Qing Zhou, Bing Zhou, Lei Zhou, Ding Zhou, Yun Zhou, Wu Zhou, You Zhou, and Cang Zhou. Among these nine continents, Tian Zhou is located in the middle, and it’s surrounded by the other eight continents as they’re interconnected. Qing Zhou, Wu Zhou, and Cang Zhou belong to the Grand Sky Coalition while Yun Zhou, Lei Zhou, and You Zhou belong to Thousand Demon Ridge. Only Tian Zhou, Ding Zhou, and Bing Zhou haven’t fallen into the hands of either side, so the two sides are fighting for these continents.”

Shui Yuan’s voice reverberated across the hall as the three of them listened attentively.

They had no idea about such matters. Lu Ye only knew the names of all nine continents, and it surprised him that the two sides were fighting for Bing Zhou. He also didn’t know which side each Zhou belonged to.

That was because he rarely came into contact with local affairs in Jiu Zhou.

Before he joined the Crimson Blood Sect, he was a mine slave at Evil Moon Valley. He struggled to survive every day, so he wasn’t in the mood to be concerned about worldly affairs, nor did he have any means to learn about it.

After he became part of the Crimson Blood Sect, he spent most of his time on the Spirit Creek Battlefield or the Cloud River Battlefield. Even when he occasionally returned to the main Sect, he would only stay for a while and leave in a hurry.

When he was wandering around Mount Ao with Pang Huanyin a while back, he didn’t even know how large the territory was. He had to ask some independent cultivators about it.

Just like what he had said to Pang Huanyin, it was his first time leaving a radius of 30 kilometres around the Summit of Fortitude.

It was also when he finally figured out what was going on in Mount Ao.

It wasn’t that he was ignorant. It was just that the situation in the Crimson Blood Sect was unique. There were not many Senior Brothers and Sisters who could teach him such common knowledge.

The other Sects in Jiu Zhou had many disciples in different Realms. All sorts of things happened every day, and the disciples could easily communicate with each other. They could hear about the incidents they had never experienced.

However, Lu Ye was denied that convenience. He had to experience many things himself or hear from Shui Yuan to find out what was going on.

It wasn’t until Shui Yuan talked about it that Lu Ye realised six of the nine continents were controlled by either side, and the remaining three continents, including Bing Zhou where the Crimson Blood Sect was located, were the places the two sides were fighting for.

“The Grand Sky Coalition is just a collective name. All the cultivators on this side are known as cultivators from the Grand Sky Coalition. Jiu Zhou is expansive, and there are countless cultivators from the Grand Sky Coalition. It’s difficult to manage such a colossus, so every continent has their own Watch. For example, we have the Bing Zhou Watch, and there’s the Qing Zhou Watch in Qing Zhou. The situation is roughly the same on Thousand Demon Ridge’s side.”

She continued to explain, “You may wonder where the sentries come from. Well, they’re recruited from the Sects and Families. Every Sect or Family in Jiu Zhou has an obligation to provide manpower to their respective Watch. The Crimson Blood Sect is no exception. The Sect Master and I are the sentries of Bing Zhou Watch. We work for them.”

Upon hearing her explanation, Lu Ye asked, “So, they want us to send a person over in three days. Is that right?”

Shui Yuan nodded. “The number of sentries recruited depends on the Sect’s Tier and how many disciples they have. Some Sects have many disciples, so many people will be recruited. Some Sects have very few disciples, so only a small number of them will be recruited. In general, the Sects have to provide a certain number of Cloud River Realm Masters, Real Lake Realm Masters, and Divine Ocean Realm Masters to them according to a set ratio. These people have to obey their orders and protect Bing Zhou together to ensure that Bing Zhou won’t fall into the hands of Thousand Demon Ridge.”

Naturally, Lu Ye felt it was a good idea. “Since we live in Bing Zhou, we’re supposed to protect it.”

“The situation of our Sect is special. There were only Old Man and me before you joined us. As such, Bing Zhou Watch didn’t demand much from us. Moreover, Deputy Coalition Leader Pang has done us a huge favour, so Old Man and I only have to take turns to go there and carry out some tasks. Do you remember Evil Moon Valley, Junior Brother?”

    “I’ll never forget about it.”

“That was when Old Man was carrying out a task assigned to him by Bing Zhou Watch.”

    Lu Ye nodded in response.

“Compared with several years ago, we have many more disciples now, and the three of you have ascended to the Cloud River Realm. Supposedly, we should send someone in the Cloud River Realm to Bing Zhou Watch. In fact, when you made it to the Cloud River Realm back then, someone from Grand Sky City had brought up the matter. However, you know Old Man very well. Most people wouldn’t want to offend him. With his interference and Deputy Coalition Leader Pang’s help, we’ve been able to put it off.”

Lu Ye squinted. “It seems that someone eagerly wants me to join Bing Zhou Watch.”

By joining Bing Zhou Watch, he would be at the forefront of the Grand Sky Coalition’s defence line. There was no doubt it’d be more dangerous than cultivating on the Cloud River Battlefield.

Unlike the situation on the Cloud River Battlefield, the enemies that the sentries of Bing Zhou Watch might come across were not limited to Cloud River Realm Masters only. It was a hostile environment. If they were unlucky, they might have to fight Real Lake Realm Masters or even Divine Ocean Realm Masters.

The Sect Master and Deputy Coalition Leader Pang had interfered in this matter to protect Lu Ye.

Lu Ye was curious to find out the person who had set his eyes on a Cloud River Realm Master like him. Moreover, the person who could make it happen must be powerful and hold an important position.

Shui Yuan didn’t offer an answer. Perhaps she didn’t know who the person was. Or, perhaps she wasn’t willing to tell Lu Ye about it. She said, “Because of the war 30 years ago, many Sects in Jiu Zhou hold some grudges against us.”

Lu Ye knew little about the war 30 years ago. He only knew that the Eldest Senior Brother had made a huge mistake and caused the death of many powerful cultivators who followed him. As a result, many Sects had suffered immense losses.

While the Eldest Senior Brother was gone, the Crimson Blood Sect remained. Naturally, some people were resentful.

Having said that, the Crimson Blood Sect had many friends as well. When Lu Ye was hunted down on the Spirit Creek Battlefield back then, many people whom he didn’t know lent him a helping hand for the sake of his Sect Master. That was why he had the chance to step onto the Goldentip, where he would wait for the arrival of the Eldest Senior Sister and the Fourth Senior Brother.”

“Now, something has gone wrong with the Cloud River Battlefield, and all the Cloud River Realm Masters have been driven out of the place. Many cultivators have streamed into the areas where the two sides fight. It’s for this reason that Deputy Coalition Leader Pang can no longer help us. He has no choice but to let the Elder Council give an order.”

“There’s nothing much we can do about it, then. Don’t worry, Second Senior Sister. I’ll accept the order,” Lu Ye said.

He was thinking about where he could cultivate after leaving the Cloud River Battlefield. Much to his surprise, before he could make a decision, someone had made an arrangement for him.

Perhaps someone had some ill intentions, but it was something that was inevitable. They had done their best to suppress this matter to protect Lu Ye for long enough.

Anyway, Lu Ye wasn’t against the idea.

Ever since he was in the Spirit Creek Realm, he had been contending with Thousand Demon Ridge, not to mention he had always been their target. He had weathered many storms, so joining Bing Zhou Watch to deal with Thousand Demon Ridge wasn’t a big deal to him.

“I’m going as well!” Ju Jia suddenly said in a firm tone.

“I’ll also tag along.” Hua Ci put on a smile.

According to the order, there had to be at least one person, but there was no upper limit. As such, the three of them could go together, and those from Bing Zhou Watch would welcome them.

“The two of you’d better not tag along. We have no idea what’s going on over there now. I’ll gather more information first, and you two can come when I gain a footing there.”

The person who was determined to make Lu Ye join Bing Zhou Watch apparently had some malicious intentions. Lu Ye could play it by ear if he went alone. If Ju Jia and Hua Ci tagged along, things would be troublesome.

Furthermore, ever since he started cultivating, he had always stayed on the two Battlefields. He never knew what other parts of Jiu Zhou looked like. As such, he could seize this chance to move around and take in the sights.

Compared with the two Battlefields, Jiu Zhou was the stage where cultivators could showcase their true powers, and the stage was far bigger than the two Battlefields.

    Ju Jia shook his head.

Lu Ye glowered at him. “It’s decided!”

Ignoring Ju Jia’s protest, he turned to look at Hua Ci. “You’re not going either.”

    Hua Ci pouted her lips.

A laugh escaped Shui Yuan. “Do not think that joining Bing Zhou Watch is a tough job. There are some benefits as well.”

Lu Ye’s interest was piqued. “What are the benefits?”
