The war in Lone Cloud City Pass was intense.

More and more Fire Spirit Race members were killed. Since they had been confined for so long, they had lost their sanity. As such, even though there were a large number of them, they were disorganised.

On the other hand, although the cultivators from Thousand Demon Ridge were caught off guard, and there hadn’t been any war at Lone Cloud City Pass for years, they were well-trained and well-prepared. It was apparent that they were the stronger side.

Certainly, they had suffered some casualties as well, but it was inevitable in any war. As long as their defence line was intact, they wouldn’t lose Lone Cloud City Pass to the enemies. The number of casualties was acceptable.

Such a war wasn’t necessarily a bad thing for Lone Cloud City Pass.

At the very least, they could get some training and let the cultivators who had unrealistic imaginations about wars have a taste of the cruel reality. That way, they would do better when those from the Grand Sky Coalition struck in the future.

After the initial chaos, many Thousand Demon Ridge cultivators finally pulled themselves together. The powerful cultivators would protect the weak ones, who would come together to fend off the enemies. In the sky, the Fire Spirit Race member in the Divine Ocean Realm was tangled up in a fight with Wan Zhanggang and Tan Yaoniang.

Somewhere in front of the wall, a figure hid in the shadows. Although she knew those from Thousand Demon Ridge had set up a trap here, she wouldn’t leave just like this. After all, she was powerful and brave. She was still waiting for a chance.

But soon, she noticed a strange incident. On a battlefield that was 90 metres away from her, a First-Order Real Lake Realm Master, who was wearing a face mask, was surrounded by a lot of Fire Spirit Race members. The aura of the Fire Spirit Race member at the head showed that he was in the Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm.

Although that person was doing his best to ward off the enemies, he was in a perilous situation. He would probably lose his life soon.

[Why is this brat here?] Although Nian Yuexian was a Divine Ocean Realm Master, she was still astounded as though she had just seen a ghost.

The moment Ying Wuji saw Lu Ye a while back, he recognised his identity. If Lu Ye hadn’t shown him the Battlefield Imprint of Thousand Demon Ridge, Ying Wuji would’ve stuck to his speculation.

The face mask only showed that Lu Ye wanted to hide his identity.

Even Ying Wuji could recognise Lu Ye, so a Divine Ocean Realm Master like Nian Yuexian could naturally see through the disguise as well.

Moreover, with the help of her Divine Ego, she could clearly feel the familiar aura and fluctuations of Spiritual Power. The black saber was also proof that this person was none other than Lu Ye.

However, she could never figure out why Lu Ye was in Lone Cloud City Pass.

She didn’t think Lu Ye had entered the city amidst the chaos. He probably wasn’t able to do so, and even if he could, those from Thousand Demon Ridge were not blind. They would’ve verified his identity first.

It was also unlikely that he had snuck into this place. If anyone could so easily enter the Pass without getting detected, the defence line of Thousand Demon Ridge would’ve been full of flaws.

Due to Nian Yuexian’s actions in recent years, those from Thousand Demon Ridge would frequently upgrade their defences. She could safely sneak into the city and hide in the dark because she was powerful, but that didn’t mean other Ghost Cultivators could do the same.

Moreover, as far as she was concerned, Lu Ye was a Combat Cultivator.

As such, it never crossed her mind that she would bump into Lu Ye in Lone Cloud City Pass, and this brat had even fallen into a perilous situation as he was fighting the Fire Spirit Race members.

He couldn’t even deal with the Fire Spirit Race member in the Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm, not to mention that he was also surrounded by many enemies.

[This brat is going to be killed!] Nian Yuexian instantly came to this conclusion.

Having stayed in Blue Flame Mountain Pass for several dozen years, she had cut off all the connections with the outside world. Only one person in this world could contact her.

She wouldn’t be bothered by someone else’s life or death, but she didn’t have the heart to see Lu Ye getting killed here.

Surrounded by Fire Spirit Race members, Lu Ye sprayed out a mouthful of blood again. The purlicue of his right hand came apart while he was holding his saber.

Due to a huge gap between their powers, he indeed wasn’t a match for the other party. Any other First-Order Real Lake Realm Master would’ve died long ago. Given his ample heritage, he had been able to hold on for such a long time, but he was already on his last legs.

He let out a sigh, knowing that he had no choice but to use the treasure.

As for how he could conceal his identity after using the treasure, that was out of the question. Once he activated the item, he would be the centre of attention, and he would have to immediately leave the place.

Just as he was ready to use the treasure, a blade light appeared out of nowhere and flew around Lu Ye before disappearing. It went to show that the person had precise control over their power.

As soon as the blade light disappeared, the Fire Spirit Race members around Lu Ye froze, including the one in the Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm.

While Lu Ye was in a dazed state, these Fire Spirit Race members were cut in half. Their blood spurted out of their incisions and burned everything it came into contact with.

[Who is it!?] Lu Ye was astounded.

He didn’t notice anyone making a move earlier, and the Thousand Demon Ridge cultivators nearest to him were dozens of metres away. The situation showed that someone had secretly lent him a hand. Also, the blade light seemed to be a flying sword.

One move was all it took to kill so many Fire Spirit Race members, and even the one in the Ninth-Order Real Lake Realm seemed so powerless to defend himself. There was no doubt the person who had made a move was a Divine Ocean Realm Master.

Wan Zhanggang and Tan Yaoniang were fighting the Fire Spirit Race member in the Divine Ocean Realm in the sky, so it wasn’t possible for them to save him.

[Is there another Divine Ocean Realm Master from Thousand Demon Ridge who is hiding somewhere? Why doesn’t he show up? What is he trying to do?]

As the thoughts turned over in Lu Ye’s mind, two more powerful auras appeared out of nowhere in Lone Cloud City Pass.

Like two Dragons which had awakened from their sleep, their pressures instantly spread in all directions.

Following that, an intense fight broke out hundreds of metres away. As their Spiritual Powers surged, the seemingly well-built houses were instantly turned into ruins. Sword Cries could faintly be heard.

In the sky, when Wan Zhanggang, who was fighting the enemy in the Divine Ocean Realm alongside Tan Yaoniang, noticed the commotion, he looked down and saw three figures in a brutal fight. One of those people was beautiful and charming, but her expression was icy and distant. The mole beneath one of her eyes added a hint of allure to her appearance.

It was a figure Wan Zhanggang would never forget.

“Nian Yuexian!” he growled. “Don’t even think about leaving!”

Just as he had expected, the woman had been hiding in the dark, waiting for a chance to deal a fatal blow to him.

As soon as he learned that a lot of Fire Spirit Race members had emerged from the crater at Blue Flame Mountain and were heading to Lone Cloud City, he contacted the two nearest Passes and invited two helpers to come over. He had to prevent Nian Yuexian from harming him, and it was also a trap.

He had pretended to be weak, but the woman’s murderous intent wasn’t aroused. Left with no choice, he shot into the sky to collaborate with Tan Yaoniang.

There was nothing he could do about it if Nian Yuexian refused to show up.

Fortunately, he was patient enough as he told the two helpers to remain in the dark and look for Nian Yuexian. Finally, they found the woman.

Unbeknownst to him, if not for the fact that Lu Ye was in danger, Nian Yuexian wouldn’t have made a move and exposed herself. As soon as she killed those enemies, she quickly ran away, but her whereabouts were still discovered.

That was because the two Divine Ocean Realm Masters that Wan Zhanggang had invited were also Ghost Cultivators.

Only Ghost Cultivators were familiar with another Ghost Cultivator’s moves, so they were best suited to deal with Nian Yuexian.

“I’ll leave him to you!” Wan Zhanggang told Tan Yaoniang before descending.

Although the enemy in the Divine Ocean Realm was powerful, he had been badly injured by the two of them. Now, Tan Yaoniang could kill him on her own. It would only take her some time.

On the battlefield below, Nian Yuexian’s presence had been exposed as she flew around like a butterfly. Although she was dealing with two people at the same time, she wasn’t at a disadvantage. She even gave the two Ghost Cultivators a hard time.

Ghost Cultivators were good at concealment and assassination, so it wasn’t their forte to fight their enemies head-on. In such a situation, their powers would be weakened by 10 to 20 per cent.

However, Nian Yuexian wasn’t just a Ghost Cultivator; she was also a Sword Cultivator. That was the reason she had been able to protect an entire Pass on her own in the past decades.

While she was adept at concealment and assassination, she could also deal with enemies head-on. In the entire Jiu Zhou, she was the only one who was well-versed in both factions.

The Sword Light around her was violent, and her Sword Qi was able to cut through the Void.

Under normal circumstances, she would be sure to teach these two Ghost Cultivators a lesson, but she couldn’t stay in this place any longer.

The moment she realised Wan Zhanggang was coming at her, she drove off her opponents and turned into a Sword Light before fleeing.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Wan Zhanggang growled.

Such a good chance would only come once in decades. He wasn’t afraid of Nian Yuexian, but it was frustrating to have been the target of assassination.

Nian Yuexian was a powerful Ghost Cultivator and Sword Cultivator, and she had been keeping an eye on Wan Zhanggang for the past decades. It was imaginable how immensely pressured the man must’ve felt.

Therefore, he had to get rid of the woman once and for all regardless of what it took.

His vitality burned around him. Like a meteorite, he was on a collision course with Nian Yuexian.

The Sword Light was shattered, revealing Nian Yuexian’s figure. When a grunt was heard, a Sword Light was cast at the same time.

The figure descending from the sky was sent flying away as blood spurted out of his wound.

Soon enough, Wan Zhanggang regained his balance. Blood was streaming out of the deep cut in his chest.

The brief exchange of moves was life-threatening to both Nian Yuexian and Wan Zhanggang, which went to show how perilous the situation was.

Wan Zhanggang wasn’t concerned one bit, though. A blood light engulfed him as he charged forward and snarled, “Nian Yuexian, you have to die today! I mean it!”

Behind him, two phantom-like figures kept flickering as they followed him closely.

Three Divine Ocean Realm Masters from Thousand Demon Ridge ran after Nian Yuexian.

The turn of events astounded the Thousand Demon Ridge cultivators. Somewhere near the battlefield between Nian Yuexian and the Ghost Cultivators, a pale Ying Wuji leaned against the wall. Like a quail without a nest in the winter, he was shivering.

Fortunately for him, the three Divine Ocean Realm Masters were far away enough from him. Otherwise, he would’ve been killed by the repercussions of their battle.
