[Why did he bring this matter up all of a sudden? What is he going to do during the birthday banquet of the Celestial Suffering King?]

Ling Yuxian finally calmed down when she returned to her courtyard. She did not think Gu Changge was someone who had nothing better to do.

Nevertheless, she could not see through Gu Changge’s mind. He also seemed to be probing her during the conversation earlier.

[Forget it. Even though that guy is mysterious, his actions show that he isn’t an enemy of the Imperial Celestial Palace.]

She shook her head and continued with her cultivation session to increase her power. The affairs of the world had nothing to do with her.

She was determined to become stronger so that she would not be a burden to her Older Sister. However, when she sat down cross-legged and closed her eyes, she discovered that she could not concentrate.

She recited the Heart Purification Mantra but realised that the mantra which she usually found effective had lost its effect.

She opened her eyes and spaced out while muttering, “Why do I keep thinking about that guy? Is it because I’m fond of him, just like what Older Sister told me?”

When the idea sprang into her mind, she shook her head, feeling that it was ridiculous. How was it possible that she was fond of that appalling guy? She merely felt guilty because of the previous misunderstandings, and she did not hate him.

“Damn it! Everything he had said was to mess with my mind!” A frustrated Ling Yuxian closed her eyes and forced herself not to recall the time she was in Magnificent Sun Ancient Territory.

On a peak surrounded by clouds in the depths of the Imperial Celestial Palace, Ling Yuling stood there as her clothes swayed with the wind.

Her soft-looking face now appeared authoritative and solemn. In her hand, there was a mirror that reflected the figure of Ling Yuxian in a faraway place.

“Yuxian’s mind has become a mess. Things are developing in a way that’s against my wishes.” As she looked at what was going on, she also seemed able to hear what Ling Yuxian was saying. She appeared helpless.

Then, she waved her hand and the mirror disappeared. She looked at the clouds. From her perspective, she could see Spacetimes clustered together like bubbles. They continuously expanded and collapsed.

Principles swept across the area like tides and the Great Dao seemed to have broken into countless pieces.

This was the depths of the Imperial Celestial Palace where it was connected to the Spacetime Sea. Certainly, only a being like her could see the truth behind the universe. The Spacetimes and Principles formed chaotic currents.

Anyway, those who had ascended to the Dao Realm had a right to travel around these Spacetimes.

Ling Yuling stood there with a calm gaze as though she was waiting for something.

“Do I still get no response at all? It seems that most people from the same era as me are dead, let alone those who had fought along with me.” She looked at the Spacetime Sea as though trying to see through something. Then, she sighed to express how sorrowful she felt.

There had been countless epochs between the time she fell for the Spirit of Eternity’s scheme and the current era. Drastic changes happened in Primary Hope Civilisation. Countless Forces died and new ones were born. The process kept repeating itself.

To Mortals, they could see many changes happening in ten years, and they would fall sick and die in 100 years. Kingdoms would fall and be replaced by new ones in 1,000 years, and the entire world would change in 10,000 years.

The passing of time was the same for cultivators.

Countless years had passed since she was born. Her peers from the same era had probably vanished in the River of Time.

Ling Yuling was merely hoping that she would get a response from the Spacetime Sea, but it was apparent that her hope had fallen short.

Principles squirmed and the Great Dao was broken in the Spacetime Sea. Even if some of her peers were still alive, they were probably not in Primary Hope Civilisation.

Just as Ling Yuling was ready to leave while feeling dejected, a golden wave suddenly swept towards her from the Spacetime Sea. The dazzling light was like a rising Sun which illuminated the chaotic Spacetimes.

    [Nan Zun?]

This came as a surprise to Ling Yuling. She disappeared from the depths of the Imperial Celestial Palace. When she reappeared, she was already in the Spacetime Sea.

The golden wave was beneath her feet. The invisible force helped her navigate through the chaotic spacetimes to head to a particular place.

The appearance of this golden wave came as a complete surprise to her.

[I didn’t expect to finally sense Nan Zun’s aura again after so many years. I wonder how she’s been doing. She was badly injured during that battle back then, and her Source was almost shattered. Anyway, her aura is still around, and she can even detect me calling out to her. I believe she has recovered. After so many epochs, her power has probably reached the next level. Perhaps she’s a Last Stage expert now.]

Ling Yuling could hardly conceal her excitement. No words could describe her feelings as she could finally see an old friend again.

Although she usually would not show her emotions on her face, she still put on a sincere smile.

Soon, the golden wave penetrated the spacetime barriers like a sword, leading her to the depths of the Spacetime Sea.

Unlike the turbulence on the outside, this place was undoubtedly more peaceful. It was as though something had blocked out the storm outside.

Ling Yuling stood atop the golden wave and squinted her eyes. She was shocked to be in this place which looked like an island that floated on the sea.

This sea was the tremendous Spacetime Sea. The universes that looked like bubbles clashed as the place was filled with immense World Energy.

If not for the golden wave’s help, it would not have been easy for her to find this place.

[I didn’t expect to see this isolated world in the depths of the Spacetime Sea. It’s like a paradise.] Ling Yuling had calmed herself down. She smiled while scanning her surroundings.

As she waved her hand, she got rid of the golden wave and headed straight to the island.

However, when she got near, she discovered it was not an island. It was a piece of ancient and massive wood which floated on the sea. It was a wonder what the wood’s background was.

It radiated a yellowish glow tinged with Chaos Energy. It just hovered over there, becoming a land in this place.

She could see the cities, mountains, and lakes on the island. It looked like a small country.

The land was covered in a thin layer of light. It seemed to be used to block out the chaotic energy from the Spacetime Sea. At the same time, it was to prevent some strange beings from barging into the land.

There were all sorts of dangers in the chaotic Spacetime Sea. Along the way, she had seen countless carcasses of Legendary Beasts.

Those carcasses would not rot as only their broken parts were left. They still exuded a nerve-racking aura.

Therefore, Ling Yuling was not so surprised to see the barrier that covered the land.

She was still scanning her surroundings as her curiosity grew.

Anyway, she did not forget about her manners. Instead of immediately barging into the place, she waited in the Spacetime Sea for the arrival of natives from the land.

She supposed her old friend, Nan Zun, lived reclusively on the island.

Since this land was not affected by the outside world, it was indeed a good place to cultivate one’s power reclusively. There would not be any trickery or scenes of forces killing each other to snatch up resources just like what was happening in the world of cultivators.

Honestly, she was envious of her old friend for living this kind of life. Unlike the time when she had been trapped in the dark space for countless years, Nan Zun had been living a carefree life.

[When I see her, I’ll definitely tease her.] Ling Yuling’s smile widened when she thought of this.

Soon, she noticed several rays of light coming from the land.

They were living beings who exuded ancient auras. There were Humans as well as beings of other Races. All of them looked old.

It seemed that they were cautious. Instead of leaving the coverage of the light barrier, they observed what was happening from the inside.

[What’s going on? Things are different from what I’d imagined. Did something happen to this place?] Ling Yuling’s smile gradually faded as her brows were knitted together. She noticed that they could hardly conceal their anxiety and caution.

They also carried with them weapons that even she found shocking.

If these ancient weapons awakened, their powers could badly injure a Dao Realm expert.

She was brought to this place by the golden wave, but it seemed that the natives did not welcome her.
