Wu Ming felt he was living a nightmare, a hell on earth.

He kept dying and then reviving, only to repeat the process over and over again…

Whether it’s hacked to death, flattened to a paste, burned to ashes, ravaged by beasts, or pulverized from a punch, or…

The various deaths truly were unique, degenerating further as the tests grew more gruesome and nauseating.

However, each time he was just brought back to life.

Wu Ming stared at the youth in white, wishing he could ask, “Lord, are you the devil?”

Chen Changan smiled. The constant experiments brought new insight into his new trait, Ruler of Life and Death.

    It was utter madness!

He could revive anyone who died in the Absolute Domain. He could also gain their Domain Points as well.

It’s a shame he couldn’t exploit it, only working the first time. With this bug, he’d earn loads of Domain Points in no time.

[Should I run the cultivators in the Absolute Domain through a round of killing and revival?]

Wu Ming sweated buckets and collapsed on the ground from mental exhaustion. Then he grabbed his limp little brother hard.

“I-it’s still there. I-I’m still alive.”

“Wu Ming, how did death feel like?”

Wu Ming gulped, unable to speak. He never heard of anyone wielding such a ridiculous and overpowered ability! [I bet no one even knows such an absurd skill exists!]

Through the grind, Wu Ming was finally convinced of Chen Changan’s power.

He thought being reborn was a new lease on life, an ephemeral hope, even after he paid a sky-high price to achieve it.

But then Chen Changan did it like nothing.

“Wu Ming, why so quiet?” Chen Changan felt a bit guilty.

[It might’ve been a bit cruel putting a child through that torment. Wait, Wu Ming’s no child!]

As a Domain Lord, the guy had to be an old monster that lived for tens of thousands of years. Chen Changan’s guild faded then and there.

Finally, Wu Ming recovered, straining a smile. “No no no, I was only thinking why Lord is so almighty. I’m just in awe.”

He did get to come back among the living each time, but every death was torture. Wu Ming feared he’d be put through the wringer again.

    Chen Changan smiled. “Let’s continue.”

    “There’s more?!” Wu Ming panicked.

Chen Changan smiled. A mere thought vanished Wu Ming from Eternity Temple, only to appear at the limit of Absolute Domain.

“Lord, what are we doing here?” Wu Ming asked.

Chen Changan was ready for his last experiment.

Its success meant that Wu Ming and Bao’er’s departure would be free of danger. Their lives would be saved!

First off, Chen Changan grabbed a bunny and threw it beyond the Absolute Domain.

Wu Ming was full of questions.

    “Wu Ming, kill it.”

“A Mi Tuo Fo. Lord, the bunny’s too adorable.”

“How merciful. Then I’ll kill you instead.”

“Ahh, the bunny has to die!” Wu Ming raged and squished the bunny under his palm.

Chen Changan used Ruler of Life and Death on the bunny, with no effect.

[Is it really a failure?] Chen Changan pondered.

He wasn’t ready to give up.

Chen Changan and Wu Ming went through many experiments.

A city outside the Myriad Mountains, called Glorious Heaven, had countless cultivators roaming about and doing business.

A youth made his way inside; his perfect white robe, the handsome face, the imposing demeanor—they all drew everyone’s attention. He carried a sword on his back and bore a faint smile.

The glitter coming off him showed he was wearing magic treasures. Ten of them!

Each was also incredibly strong—a top magic treasure!

Zooming in, it became clear that he was Mo Wentian, who had fled Dragonised City.

Mo Wentian sighed. [I’m in Glorious Heaven City, close to Myriad Mountains, where that ultimate expert resides.]

He came all the way here as a Qi Refining cultivator, but only he knew the dangers he had to face. Bloodthirsty cultivators were everywhere, with Demons and Monsters roaming the lands, making death a near certainty…

[I’m only in the Qi Refining Stage. A single encounter would’ve had me killed.]

Even Mo Wentian felt it was a miracle he survived this long. He had long since lost count of the numerous threats he slinked by.

He first encountered a Golden Core Demonic cultivator who was slaughtering a city in order to refine some treasure. He only survived by hiding among corpses.

The second time he stumbled into a Nascent Soul female wraith in the wilderness and thought he’d be devoured.

Only for the wraith to see her Husband in him and let him go.

The eighteenth time he let it slip in a city that he had top Spirit Stones on him and some cultivators wanted to kill him. The despairing Mo Wentian jumped off a sky-high cliff in an attempt to escape.

Mo Wentian thought he was dead for sure, but luck had it; he fell on a tree growing out of the cliff. What took the cake, however, was the cave he found where an Immortal Slayer died in meditation.

[The hell? Did my luck turn out of the blue?]

The Immortal Slayer had no Legacy, but gave Mo Wentian plenty of magic treasures and Spirit Stones.

    The hoard remade Mo Wentian.

He was drabbed from head to toe, underwear included, in top magic treasures, giving off the impression he was some almighty genius. Particularly, the jade pendant hung from his neck.

No Immortal Slayer item was average, that was for sure. It could hide one’s cultivation, and only another Immortal Slayer could find him out.

Like they say, clothes make the man. Decked in top magic treasures, no one would even try picking on him, believing Mo Wentian was some powerful faction’s successor or of other some such background.

He had been through many dangers since Dragonised City, but Mo Wentian survived them all.

Reaching Glorious Heaven City felt miraculous to him. “Isn’t my luck outrageous to survive for so long?”

He didn’t overthink it, clenching his fists as he entered with a smile and resolve. “It must be providence. I am certain to become that supreme being’s disciple. I’m in Glorious Heaven City, very close to where he lives.”

[Ruhua, wait for me to be his disciple and I’ll come for you.]
