Hei didn’t want to linger in Everlasting Jade Lake more than he should. He knew for a fact that even leaving with Ah’Miao would pose great danger. Which was why he urged Ah’Miao to find that immortal inheritance as soon as possible.

The catgirl nodded, taking the Flood Dragon into Everlasting City. The city was filled with ancient buildings, covered in aging scars from an unknown era.

Hei sighed. “How is this city so majestic?”

Ah’Miao agreed. She was just as shocked and amazed the first time she saw it.

Ah’Miao brought Hei to the tomb, in the very center of Everlasting City.

It was a plaza, with a statue miles high. It was that of a man, lofty and imposing, yet its face indiscernible.

As for the tomb entrance, it was below it.

“Here, Flood Dragon Hei. Let’s go in.”

Ah’Miao and Hei ventured forth, into the black and ancient entrance littered with skeletons.

Most of their flesh had rotten away since heaven knew when, yet their bones shone with a bright aura from the immortal power they contained.

Last time Ah’Miao was here, she thought them impressive. Now, after fighting a real immortal, she was more aware of how amazing they were.

These might just belong to real immortals!

“Ah’Miao, these look like the skeletons of immortals. Even after all these years, their immortal power is still lingering in their bones!”

“Yeah, just what on earth happened in this place for so many of them to die?”

The last time Ah’Miao was here, a few centuries back, she stumbled upon an immortal’s inheritance.

Her memories were vague, given how long ago it was, and could not recall the way. As they traveled, the dark and oppressive mood of the huge tomb got to them. As well as the corpses.

The skeletons were every step of the way, shocking the duo.

They could only imagine how many immortals had died in this endless tomb, probably in the thousands.

Suddenly, the tomb rumbled. Ah’Miao and Hei couldn’t stand straight from all the shaking.

They grew more cautious and focused on avoiding any accidents.

From the moment they entered this place, Ah’Miao and Hei had lost their way, wandering the halls aimlessly.

“Ah’Miao, just where is that inheritance you’re trying to find?” Hei finally asked.

Ah’Miao sighed, “Flood Dragon Hei, I don’t know either. Everything looks the same here. I think we’re already lost.”

Hei stopped walking and gave her a look. “What are we supposed to do if we can’t find the inheritance?”

Ah’Miao blushed, looking apologetic with her drooping ears. “Flood Dragon Hei, I didn’t know this would happen.”

Hei didn’t blame her since it’s been centuries already. Not to mention he was unfamiliar with the tomb.

“Let’s search carefully. I’m sensing great danger from this place. We mustn’t be rash and proceed with caution.”

Traveling a while longer, the two met with danger.

They came upon a place where countless arms and faces grew out of the stone walls, with ghastly looks and grotesque figures.

Ah’Miao and Hei’s blood ran cold. Trapped, they had no choice but to go forward.

And seeing even more corpses around, they knew even greater danger awaited. This eerie tunnel made their hearts sink.

Luckily, the unexpected happened. The arms avoided the two, out of fear of even touching them. Ah’Miao and Hei had thus no trouble passing this hurdle.

The two noticed the corpse thinning out, though each body released impressive immortal pressure and glow, stronger than the ones before.

This only meant they belonged to even stronger immortals.

The deeper they ventured, the more dangerous it was.

Despite how tense they were from everything that happened, they were amazed to find nothing coming out to meet them, to take their life, or worse.

    Ah’Miao and Hei were perplexed.

Finally, Ah’Miao noticed a familiar path, a prismatic tunnel.

Her eyes lit up. “I remember that tunnel. The immortal inheritance is up ahead!”
