Book 4: Volume 8 Chapter 4, Reflection Meeting

Several days had passed since the Magic Power supply facility officially began operation.
Except for a few individuals, life on the fifth Floor continued as usual. The creation of a facility that efficiently generated Magic Power didn’t instantly change ordinary people’s lives. This facility only supplied power to castle departments and Crown organization sections requiring large amounts.
Crown’s future plan involved gradually expanding use after confirming stable operation over several months. Therefore, the facility only significantly impacted a select few.
Meanwhile, the staff responsible for operation and management worked busily. Those in charge of the Magic Circle’s operation and repair had been working almost non-stop since initial activation.
“How is it? Still can’t figure it out?”
“Ah, Chief. I-I’m sorry. No matter how I analyze it, there are parts that are incomprehensible…”
“You fool!”
When the Chief reprimanded the staff member, the others flinched.
The staff had been diligently working on analyzing Kousuke’s modified Magic Circle since official activation. They were aware the analysis hadn’t progressed much and could only tremble, accepting their superior’s anger.
However, the Chief’s next words were completely unexpected.
“There are things you should be doing before analyzing the Magic Circle! Are you making progress on the most important thing, which is preservation of the Circle?! You haven’t carelessly analyzed it and broken the Magic Circle that the living god so kindly created, have you!?”
Even the Chief didn’t expect analysis of the living god’s modified Magic Circle to progress in mere days. More importantly, they had to proceed carefully to ensure immediate repair capability if something happened. Otherwise, as happened the other day, the facility itself could stop functioning. Something that absolutely had to be avoided.
The staff member, finally understanding what the Chief wanted, began speaking in a flustered manner.
“I-I’m so sorry! Regarding that, most of the analysis is complete. All that’s left is the crucial part connecting to the central system.”
Hearing those words, the Chief’s raised eyebrows finally lowered slightly.
“I see. Good work. Just a little more effort. Then you’ll be able to take some time off.”
At those words, the atmosphere among staff members softened slightly. They realized this was the Chief’s way of showing consideration.
Considering their roles, no one here actually expected time off just for that.
Noticing the atmosphere, the Chief shook his head and gave a wry smile.
“No, what I said was not just empty works. In the meeting earlier, it was decided that for now, we should prioritize maintaining the system. Improving it after analysis will be postponed.”
The staff looked bewildered, not understanding. What the Chief had just said was tantamount to abandoning some of their assigned roles.
“It seems our superiors completely underestimated the possibility of the living god making changes. They’ve taken that into account now.”
Just like the Chief’s wry smile, similar expressions spread among the present staff.
The common understanding among people in this world was that comprehending a God’s actions was extremely difficult for human understanding.

While facility staff dealt with Kousuke’s actions, the person in question was holding a debriefing session with Towa.
“I ended up interfering in the end, but did I go too far?”
“It’s a delicate matter. Have the Goddesses said anything?”
“Ah, you don’t have to worry about that. I’ll check later, but if there were problems, they would have already told me.”
Towa’s expression relaxed at those words. This was what worried him most.
“That’s good then. I’m most afraid of being told the living god is interfering too much.”
“As I’ve said before, you don’t have to worry too much about that. On the contrary, the Goddesses seem to acknowledge my interference. It is to the point where I sometimes wonder if things are getting out of hand.”
In Kousuke’s perception, he’d felt they would be the type to most dislike interfering with the world. Conversely, when he talked to them, they sometimes even said he should interfere more.
Towa showed a wry smile. “Wouldn’t that just create bigger problems?”
“I know right?”
If a God directly interfered in the Human world, things could spiral out of control. That was why Kousuke had been refraining from unnecessary interference… but this time, he had gotten personally involved.
However, Kousuke had his reasons.
“But you know, in that case, if I hadn’t intervened, it probably wouldn’t have improved no matter how long we waited.”
Towa looked at him questioningly.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, it failed partially due to matters relating to Divine Power. Even if everyone had tried again after I left, there’s a possibility it wouldn’t have been fixed.”
“I see.”
Towa nodded emphatically at the explanation. In the Human world, Divine Power remained an unknown force. Crown was unusual for handling it so casually, but even then, they were using what Kousuke gave them. Therefore, even with thorough investigation, they would likely learn almost nothing.
That was why he had decided to take direct action at that moment.
Towa looked convinced after hearing the explanation, but the next moment, his expression turned serious.
“So while maintenance might be manageable, improvements will be difficult, right?”
“Well, I wonder about that?”
Towa tilted his head at Kousuke’s grin. Given the situation where Kousuke himself had to intervene, he didn’t think improvement would come soon.
“Do you have a plan?”
“Hey, hey. How can my Eldest Son forget about his Younger Brother?”
“Ah! That’s right, Luka!”
After Kousuke’s remark, Towa finally remembered his Youngest Brother’s existence. Well, not that he had forgotten Luka himself, but rather Luka’s special talent for being unusually skilled with Magic Circles.
“Well, we don’t know yet if Luka will reach my level, but he’s probably going to get pretty close, don’t you think?”
“Yes.”
The two, father and son, nodded in agreement, simultaneously picturing Luka’s face. Luka had shown interest in Magic Circles since childhood and remained completely engrossed in them even now as an adult. His knowledge had already reached a top level.
Furthermore, since he’d been coming to the management area and handling Kousuke’s magic tools and divine artifacts, it certainly wasn’t impossible for him to perform as Kousuke suggested.
While not entirely without parental or sibling bias, even accounting for that, it was a perfectly plausible scenario.
With that expectation for Luka’s not-too-distant future, Kousuke and Towa’s conversation about the Magic Power supply facility came to an end.
