There’s a reason why ‘Ring of Fire’, the abbreviation for the otome game ‘When the Ring of Fire is Lit, World is Painted Red’, sounds so disturbing.
Ring of Fire symbolized the Sun. In other words, from the title in can be inferred that ‘the heroine and love interest couldn’t see each other because it was dark, but after the Sun rose and they could see each other’s faces well, they both got embarrassed and their faces turned red’ ―― the title turns into something romantic.

However, there are a lot of dangerous things happening in this game and depending on your choices, the characters often die or get seriously injured.

Moreover, in most cases, it happens after the characters separate from the main love interest. On the next day they’re discovered by the main leads, who came to pick them up, lying covered in blood (usually dead).

The main love interest who would come to pick up the heroine in the morning would find her collapsed (sometimes even dead).
The characters were dyed in red along with the dawn. Thanks to that, fans proclaimed that the ‘bad end was clearly a suspenseful murder scene (prologue)’ and the game became known as Ring of Fire.

And a character called Roshenna Rivers is one of the reasons why the game name is abbreviated as such.
He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a slim figure and he’s around 180cm tall. He’s a male student of the same age as Lady Violet, whose specs combine the best features of Elves, Dwarfs and Humans.
He’s the only son of the Rivers family, which bought their title with money, and his usual countenance shows that he has a friendly personality and good looks, which makes him popular among the female students at the academy.
However, in reality he’s a crazy yandere character who’s madly in love with the main love interest, His Highness Vermillion. He gets jealous of the heroine when she’s in His Highness’ route and tries to make everybody around His Highness disappear to make him return to his previous solitary existence, while proclaiming ‘I won’t let that peasant steal you away from me!’
As a result of that, Ash gets injured, Chartreuse gets hospitalized due to ingesting poison (not life-threatening), other strange things start happening at the love interest’s house which makes him return to his hometown. Once His Highness starts to get anxious, Roshenna ultimately kidnaps the heroine.
He doesn’t kill her or harm her when he first confines her. The reason for that is,

‘If he finds out that you’re alive, I’ll get to see that person panic! And if I help him find you, His Highness will be grateful to me! Ah, what bliss! I can feel the heat accumulate in my lower abdomen!’

Because he has developed a perverted fetish. Moreover, not only does he want to hear words of gratitude from His Highness, he also wants to see His Highness’ expression when he takes control of the heroine, so he tries to use Mind Control on her.
In the end, Heroine finds the opportunity to escape, but she’s caught and brought back to the room. Thinking that he must punish her, Roshenna comes up with a ‘brilliant’ idea to send parts of her body to His Highness and wonders about how he would react. Just as he gets close to the heroine to bring this plan in action, he’s defeated by His Highness who rushes over.
Furthermore, it seems that there were some fans who liked the confined life and proclaimed that they wanted to be controlled.

“I’m sorry, I lost my composure.”
“No, it’s fine. But do you know Roshenna, Lord Clo?”
“Yes, well, to some extent…”

Anyway, this guy is a pain in the ass.
He doesn’t respond to money demands. He doesn’t care if his family is in danger. There’s no point in using his parents for negotiation.
He will only negotiate for something that will be beneficial for His Highness. In other words, the only negotiation material we have is something that will ‘bring out His Highness’ emotions’ or make Roshenna realize that his actions ‘will not benefit His Highness’. Moreover, in case of the latter, if we fail, he’ll be furious.
Ms. Schwarz was easy to understand because all I had to do was negotiate with her about money, the orphanage or her client, but with this guy, even if I use the same words, he’ll become a  minefield if I don’t follow the proper steps. If there’s a single good thing, that would be,

“One thing we know for sure is that he has no intention of killing Gray.”
“That’s right.”

Roshenna doesn’t have the courage to kill somebody. It would be different if it was an accident or if he was cornered, but due to his personality, he’s even unable to kill a monster that’s trying to harm him. I don’t know if I should call him kindhearted or a coward… no, a kindhearted person wouldn’t have kidnapped Gray.

“But we can’t let our guards down. While he doesn’t have the courage to kill, he also thinks that anything is fine as long as he doesn’t kill the other person.”

Yes, he also thinks that anything is fine as long as he doesn’t kill the other person. There are times when he injures people under the guise of playing around.
A small amount of malice that grows gradually may cross the line eventually. It’s possible that it’s happening right at this moment.
What’s more, the current situation is most likely the result of him discovering Lady Violet, who he considers to have harmed His Highness and taking action. As long as she has no direct connection to His Highness at the moment, I don’t know how the other person will act.

“By the way, why do you know him, Lady Violet?”
As I was thinking about Roshenna, something suddenly made me wonder.
Thinking about Lady Violet’s personality, she would immediately condemn the sender of the letter as soon as she’d found out their identity.

“I found out about the author of the letter the day before the duel and… frankly speaking, I only had the duel on my mind back then.”
“… I see.”

I couldn’t pursue her any further.

“Anyway, let’s find out where Roshenna is.”
“Do you have an idea?”
“Well, yes.”

As of now, we don’t know Roshenna’s whereabouts. I can narrow down possible hideouts and escape routes to some extent, but it’ll take time to check all of them.
But as long as we know who did it, there’s something we can do too.

“Well then, let me show him what happens when he makes an enemy out of Shiki.”

The Sun is setting. Let’s finish everything before dawn.
