Cecil, who was supposed to be working on a project, was thinking about something unimportant, wondering when was the last time she practiced her writing.

The thought occurred to Cecil when she was relieved to have finished her work.

When she was in the slave trading house, she was given enough knowledge to be able to write her own name.

Basically, a woman slave’s job was often to handle housework.

Therefore, if she did not learn even a few letters, there would be no one who would take her in, so she was made to learn to a certain extent.

She was hired by Crown, where she worked as a receptionist and was able to learn enough letters to do her job.

However, this effort was rendered superfluous when she was given the role of temple management.

Even though she was managing the temple, all she had to do was basically clean it, so there were hardly any documents to write.

The only thing she would mostly write was a ledger for food, clothing, and shelter.

After that, for some unknown reason, it turned out that she had an aptitude for the spiritual arts, and she became an adventurer, which meant that she had to stay away from writing for a while.

It seemed as if her life was going to be completely devoid of writing, but then came a further change.

One day, perhaps on a whim, Kousuke suddenly came to offer her a chance to write a book on the spirit arts.

Cecil, who had never written a book before, refused the offer.

Arisa, who was also there, refused as well.

A whole book was expensive, especially if it contained a lot of paper.

It was obvious because paper itself was expensive.

However, Kousuke put such thoughts aside and said, “Don’t worry, it will be fine. The two of you can be in a position to instruct someone else in Spirit Arts and have them write it down for you”.

Arisa and Cecil were sure that they had refused the offer, but after Kousuke left, a large pile of paper, ink, and pens were left behind.

From Cecil’s point of view, Kousuke was not usually a pushy person, but when push comes to shove, he could be very forceful.

Like in this case, as a typical example.

When Cecil and Arisa looked at the tools that were left behind, they had already given up.

Perhaps even they both had a similar expression on their faces.

Kousuke might be a bit pushy, but even if the result didn’t turn out to be good, he would always suggest trying it out first.

After more than three years of relationship, she had come to understand that much.

Even if the two of them tried and failed, he would simply laugh it off and forgive them.

Thinking of this, they both let out a sigh.

Cecil’s current task was to create the book that had been ordered.

She was hesitant to write on expensive paper, so she and Arisa talked over and over again to decide how to go about it.

By the time the two of them had decided on a certain amount of content and had started to divide the work between them, a month had passed.

It may seem like too much time, but it was the first time for them to work on this project, and they were at a loss on how to proceed.

After all those twists and turns, when they finally started to get used to writing, the book was taking shape.

When it reached that point, they were more pleased than anxious.

In a sense, it was only natural, since they could see what they had written in the form of a book.

And now Cecil and Arisa were doing a final check of the book they had written.

“…Whew.”

Arisa, who was checking the book in front of Cecil, let out a big sigh.

Arisa was checking the part that Cecil had written.

“How was it?”

“Yeah. I’ve looked over the whole thing and I don’t see any problems. How about you?”

“What? You’re done already? I’m sorry, I have a few more things to check out, so just give me a minute.”

“Okay.”

Apparently, while she was absentmindedly thinking, her partner had quickly finished her work.

Not wanting to keep her waiting too long, Cecil went back to work.

“…Well?”

Arisa asked when she saw Cecil looking up from the stack of papers and saw that she had finished her work.

“No problem, I guess.”

“Is that so?”

Both of them nodded and had mixed emotions.

There was a sense of accomplishment now that we had completed the work to a certain extent, but there was also a sense of nervousness because of the ordeal that awaited them.

That ordeal, of course, was to have another person look at what they had written.

They already had a person in mind who would check their work.

Kousuke, who had asked them to write the book, would probably also check the book, but it would be checked by someone more knowledgeable about spirit arts than Kousuke.

Who might it be? Of course, it would be Collete.

For Cecil and Arisa, Collete was their master in spirit arts.

It would be impossible to say that they were not nervous about the fact that Collete would see what they had written.

“….What should we do?”

“What do you mean, what do we do? We have to take it with us, don’t we?”

“Yes, I guess so.”

Cecil and Arisa both let out a sigh at the same time.

Cecil asked Yuri to put her in touch with Kousuke.

As a fairy, Yuri could contact Kousuke whenever she wanted to.

Of course, she would never use her power carelessly, but not in a case like this.

Kousuke rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the call.

Naturally, Collete followed him.

“Where’s the finished product?

Kousuke asked, his eyes shining with anticipation, since they had already been informed of the degree of completion through Yuri.

Cecil sensed that she couldn’t withdraw after all this time.

Giving up, she led him to the place where she had the thing they finished making.

“Here it is.”

Cecil held out the bundle of papers she had put together in one piece to Kousuke.

“Do you want to read it first?”

Kousuke, who was handed the bundle of papers, turned it towards Collete.

But Collete shook her head in to refuse him.

“It’ll take me a while to read it, so I’ll read it later.

“I see.”

Satisfied with Collete’s argument, Kousuke nodded his head and started reading the stack of papers he had been handed.

Kousuke flipped through the papers at a speed that surprised Cecil and Arisa.

It was so fast that it was understandable why Collete let Kousuke read it first.

Kousuke, on the other hand, would probably say that it did not take him much time since he was not memorizing the contents, but simply reading the text.

He told the other members that before, but they replied that what difference does it make, so he gave up on further rebuttal.

It was difficult to explain to others because it was something sensory.

Anyway, Kousuke read what was written on the stack of papers in about four hours.

When Kousuke finished reading, he smiled and said to Cecil and Arisa.

“Yeah. I think it’s well written. Or rather, I was surprised that it was better than I expected.”

“Oh, really? Thank you.”

“Thank you.”

The two who were praised by Kousuke were first surprised rather than pleased by the unexpectedly high praise.

“Well, I can’t say whether the content is correct or not, because Collete will be checking it.”

Seeing Collete reading with a serious expression, Kousuke chuckled.

Cecil and Arisa were also bracing themselves for the strict inspection that was about to follow.

In the end, Collete was not able to finish reading the book that day, but came back to read it in several sessions.

Of course, the contents were properly inspected.

However, it was not that there were things written that were drastically wrong, but rather, it was pointed out that there might be some minor wording that could be misinterpreted.

Overall, she complimented them on the good work.

When Cecil and Arisa received those words of praise, they felt as if they were about to cry a little, as if all their hard work had paid off.

Incidentally, Cecil and Arisa, who were desperate to finish the book, turned blue when they learned that it would later be released to the public, but that was still some time in the future.
