Chapter 6059, Mother Knows Men Best

“Oh? There’s such a thing?” Shan Qing Luo commented with a grin. “Seems like our Eldest Daughter is someone who bears quite the grudge. Guess it’s normal for her considering what happened to her beloved Brother. I wonder who she learnt it from?”
Naturally, Shan Qing Luo’s eyes were on Yu Ru Meng, who shrugged. “Like you’re one to talk. Pretty sure her cunningness has much to do with you as with me. Besides, not like any of us here thinks it’s a bad thing for her to be like this.”
The rest nodded on that point. Certainly, Yang Xu being more aware of her surroundings, and also more adaptive to situations, helps them. Compared to Yang Ji, who idolises his Father, it was better to have a Daughter who they could easily talk to.
The only concern they had was that this Daughter of theirs seemed to only have eyes for her Twin Brother. In fact, her Father was probably worth a toenail as compared to her Brother. She would gladly throw her Father to the wolves, knowing fully well he would make it out fine, if it meant her Brother would be kept safe.
It was for this reason that all her Mothers could only shake their heads at how Yang Xu was acting.
Still, they all agreed on one point–this whole ordeal should not repeat itself. Though the whole situation was in context to how strong Yang Ji and Yang Xu were, it was remarkably dangerous for them to be sent to the Black Ink Clan. The Mothers had expected some level of danger, but not to this extent.
Who could possibly accept having their children, who were only around twelve, fight off against a Territory Lord and a Royal Lord? They were not even in the Open Heaven Realm! They were only in the Dao Source Realm!
This was far too much, even for someone like Su Yan, who leaned more towards supporting her children’s independent growth. Certainly, Yang Kai was there, and had been a safety net for the twins. However, that safety net was not absolute, not when the region they were sent to was still full of mysteries. Proof of that was the peculiar little worm that stuck to the twins, which even till now, no one present knew of its origins.
All Mothers present were concerned not only for Yang Ji and Yang Xu, but for the other children as well. This matter could not be allowed to repeat itself.
Currently, Yang Xu has bought them precious time to decide on how to handle things before Yang Kai returns to soothe things over with them.
“In that case, what sort of punishment should we deliver? Pretty sure that rascal wants something more than a slap on the wrist.” Zhu Qing asked, still musing over the fact that Yang Xu was acting so resolute. In her mind, disappointing that girl was not an option. As a fellow Dragon, she naturally had to support this Daughter of hers.
Surprisingly, it was the quiet Tao Ling Wan who raised up her hand to caution. “Actually, the children have been asking when they can see their Father. It has been more than a week since some of them last saw him. I don’t think we can go too far with whatever we want to do, and upset them. The children are still young and impressionable. They need to take priority over whatever we do.”
Su Yan gave a nod in agreement, “Yes. The children are the main priority. Even if I want to teach him a lesson, we cannot use the children against him.”
Dong Su Zhu soon gave a knowing smile. She was glad that her Son had all these wise Wives with him. Knowing men and their weaknesses, Dong Su Zhu openly stated, “Of course we can’t have my precious Grandchildren suffer because of that naughty boy. Don’t worry, we will let them spend as much time with their Father as possible. In fact, they will surely enjoy their time with him.”
“Oh? Mother, you have an idea?” Shan Qing Luo curiously asked.
There, Dong Su Zhu gave a knowing smile, a little excited for the upcoming event.
…
In the meantime, while the Mothers were discussing, Xia Ning Chang took the twins out of the palace complex. Both kids, on her left and her right, were retelling what had happened. Yang Ji would elaborate with great fervor, while Yang Xu would occasionally step in to correct him on different points.
As they walked, occasional soft bell-like laugher could be heard coming out of Xia Ning Chang’s soft lips. She would attentively listen and just gently ask what happened next, seemingly eager to know what her precious children had been up to while they were away.
It had to be noted that the children made no mention of the actual dangers they encountered. Instead of mentioning a Royal Lord, they would just describe how the opponent looked and what they did.
This was a deliberate action on their part, without needing any prior agreement. Out of all their Mothers, Xia Ning Chang tended to be the one who worries for them the most. Even if Yang Ji was dense, their Mother, Su Yan, had advised them not to make Xia Ning Chang worry unnecessarily.
They could still recall how in the past, when one of their Siblings got sick, their Mother Ning Chang had locked inside her Pill Room to refine an excessive number of Pills in panicked desperation. The result was naturally a mountain of High Grade Pills when only one was needed. Furthermore, the Pills used up rare ingredients, so much so that Hua Qing Si, the High Heaven Palace Manager, had a hard time replenishing the stock.
For that to never happen again, the Family had basically separated Xia Ning Chang from anything that might cause her to worry.
Thus, Yang Ji would just mention all the interesting and fun bits, removing most of the dangers they had faced.
When Xia Ning Chang heard of the familiar name of ‘Mo Na Ye’, her face turned solemn for a moment before relaxing after realising that the man meant no harm towards the children.
She walked them all the way to their other Brothers and Sisters, who were currently in another palace, the Starry Sky Palace. There, all Siblings would live close to one another.
As expected, the moment Xia Ning Chang stepped into the palace, many other children had rushed out to greet her in excitement. After all, this was the Mother who would always give them delicious Pills for being good children.
In total, Yang Kai had ten children, with Yang Ji and Yang Xu being the oldest of the group. Each Mother basically had one child except for Su Yan, who bore twins. Out of the eight children, currently, only five had come out.
Two had not begun to walk yet, and the oldest besides the twins was busy, in close door cultivation.
“Big Brother, Big Sister.” The other Sibling the twins were closest to was Xia Ning Chang’s Biological Daughter, Yang Ling. She was so close, that out of the five, she has given priority to the Twins rather than her own Mother.
