“Ah, Yang Ling!” Yang Ji immediately reacted by giving her a big hug. Similar to Xia Ning Chang, Yang Ling tended to be quiet most of the time. However, she sheds off her shyness when it comes to those closest to her, namely the twins and her own Mother.

Meanwhile, Yang Xu just gave her a small wave.

“Big Brother, Big Sister, where did you two go? It has been very boring without the two of you…” Yang Ling complained while in Yang Ji’s arms, looking up at him.

Out of all their Siblings, Yang Ji could not help but pamper her. At just around six years old, she was just too cute. Her big round eyes, well rounded squishy cheeks and innocent demeanour made her the center of attention–even if the girl did not want the attention.

Even if she was spoiled, that had not ruined her. For some reason, the little girl had always been down to Earth, demanding little. Even in terms of attention, she would willingly give way to those younger than her.

Out of all the children, she was definitely the one who took the greatest care of others.

Yang Ji hesitated to say. After all, Xia Ning Chang had asked the twins not to divulge what had happened to the other children since it was a really dangerous place, one in which the children need not know about right now. Even so, Yang Ling’s innocent round eyes made him feel guilty if he were to lie.

“Sorry Yang Ling, we went out with our Mother to see the Phoenix Clan.” Yang Xu was spared from those eyes and quickly explained. Though not directly stared at, even Yang Xu knew how potent that innocent gaze was.

“Ah? Did you have a good time there? Was it nice? Can I go with you next time?” Yang Ling adorably asked.

“Sure, we will ask our Mom if we can bring you there.” Yang Xu could only say as much to placate her.

    “Yay~”

Even her cheer was cute as it was soft and she snuggled against Yang Ji.

    Then, a shout suddenly came.

“Ah! You brats are finally back, huh!?”

It was the familiar voice of the man who had chased them back then. It was none other than their Uncle, Yang Xiao.

He had almost instantly appeared beside them and glared at them, seemingly wanting to teach them a lesson.

Naturally, another voice came in, it was their Aunt, Yang Xue. “What are you shouting for you idiot? Do you want to wake up the other kids?”

However, before Yang Xiao could enact any justice to the Twins, his ear received its just deserts as Yang Xue immediately pulled it as she reprimanded him. “I just got those two to sleep, and here you are making so much noise.”

    “Ahh…”

Xia Ning Chang noticed the two and giggled. She immediately stepped in to placate Yang Xue. “Sister-in-Law, we need to keep quiet.”

“Ah… right… I’ll let you off this time, but only this time.” Yang Xue shrugged and then let go, allowing Yang Xiao to finally rub his freed ear. This action was only made more awkward when the other little kids giggled at him.

However, the next target was naturally the Twins. “As for you two, to go off for so long. Come with me.”

The other children, seemingly knowing this commanding tone, all looked away.

As for the Twins, they had no choice but to agree since Mother Ning Chang was still smiling at them. “Don’t worry. I’ll go with you.”

    “Okay…”

The Twins began to start walking  to a location without being told, as though repeated countless times. In fact, Yang Xue need not even look at them to know where they were going as she said to Yang Xiao, “Look after them while we are away. Since you’ve made so much noise, if any of the younger ones wake up, it’ll be your job to pacify them.”

Yang Xiao could only nod. What else could he do but nod?

However, Yang Xue paid special attention to Yang Ling, as she gently said to her, “Sorry Ling’er, I know you miss them a lot and want to spend your time with them but Auntie has some very important business with them. I promise they will spend the whole day with you after this, okay?”

Yang Ling just gave a cute obedient nod, as though all was forgiven. “En.”

“Good girl. Okay, for now, can you help take care of the others? I’m sure you know your Uncle by now.” Yang Xue said, which caused Yang Ling to giggle and Yang Xiao to point at himself and question to himself, ‘wait, what did I do wrong?’

However, it was not like he could rebut at this point. After being with Yang Xue for so long, he knew better than to open the can of worms.

Yang Ling just gave a nod and quickly moved to grab two of her Younger Siblings’ hands, leading them away. Despite not being the oldest out of the five, she was the most well regarded one. Also, since their Aunt had basically put her in charge, like usual, the rest just followed her lead to the palace courtyard to play with Yang Xiao trailing behind.

    ***

Where Yang Ji and Yang Xu went was Yang Xue’s own home within the Starry Sky Palace. Naturally, with Yang Xue’s cultivation, and being Yang Kai’s own Biological Sister, she could have her own palace, but she chose to stay close to her Nieces and Nephews.

Of course, since Yang Xue wanted to live here, Yang Xiao had to follow.

It could be due to her past, where most of her childhood was trapped within the Flowing Time Temple, that she chose to stick close to her Family now. Also, her own Brother was not present most of the time, during her childhood and after when she was an adult, which might have added more to the feeling of reluctance to stay away from her Family.

That being said, it was a little suffocating for her to live with her ‘still active’ Parents. So, she opted to live next to her Nieces and Nephews. For some reason, with these kids, everyday was interesting. They were all developing so fast that it was hard to believe, be it cultivation or just growth in general.

Naturally, after spending so much time with the children, she had gotten used to their habits. Likewise, they had gotten used to how hers as well.

When she was about to punish them, they would typically do so in her hall, the Xue Hall.

(Silavin: It means Snow Hall, but can also mean Blood Hall, since the pin yin is the same)

Right now, the Twins were obediently sitting on two mats, awaiting the judge to enter the room. However, right now, both were not worried in the slightest. After all, their Mother Ning Chang would be here with them.

With her here, there was no need to fear!

    *Dong*

The door to the room opened, and footsteps entered. There two women stepped in, and they sat across from the Twins. However, before either of them spoke, the room behind was already shut with Yang Xue’s Divine Sense.

Soon, the door glowed with marking, and an Array had been activated. It was an Isolation Array, to prevent outside disturbances. Typically, Yang Xue would activate it when she was cultivating. She would rarely activate it when there were children inside.

So, when she activated it, the Twins could not help but be a little nervous.

“Now, no one can disturb us. So, tell me, what happened to your Uncle Eleven at the end? Also, when was the last time you saw Fang Tian Ci and Thunder Shadow?”
