Meanwhile, inside her room, Yang Xu was screaming at the Heavenly Demon Queen. “How long is my Brother going to be in seclusion!? It’s been a month already!!!”

“This is a matter of his own enlightenment. Comprehending such profundities within the span of a single year is worthy of considerable commendation. And yet, you presume to admonish me?” The Heavenly Demon Queen scoffed back.

During the month, someone had to settle those punishments. No need to speak much of Lei Ao, since he was still in a coma after a month. Still, his condition had naturally caused no small amount of upheaval in Yang Kai’s office. However, since Yang Ji had immediately entered secluded cultivation, no punishment had been dealt–despite mounting pressure from Red Clouds Cave Heaven.

Nevertheless, there was still the preexisting punishment. So, someone had to send their classmates to and from school. Naturally, that task fell onto Yang Xu… eventually.

After all, this was a punishment for the Twins. Even if the Heavenly Demon Queen covered up for them, would Li Wu Yi not realise it? So, eventually, Yang Xu would have cover for the both of them.

During that month, Yang Xu had a scare when she suddenly felt that her Brother’s Dao Heart was wavering. It could be said that her Daos were his Daos, and his Daos were her Daos. Though not fully mutual, with their inexplicit connection, she could feel that her Brother was about to abandon his mastery over the Dao of Space.

Naturally, she would panic. She wanted to hurriedly rush over and scream at him. In fact, she was about to scream into his head through their connection. However, the Heavenly Demon Queen stopped her. “Desist. Do you intend to nullify the entirety of his endeavors? Your disturbance serves only to divert him ever furthering his goals. You pledged, with your word, using your Dao Heart as a wager, that he would remain unperturbed throughout this time.”

“You said that he would be fine, that this was going to take awhile. But it has already been a few days and his Dao Heart has already started to shake! What if it collapses!?” Yang Xu was more than ready to push this worm into the Void and forever seal her at this point.

“You declared your faith in him. Where, I ask, has that conviction gone?” The Heavenly Demon Queen mocked.

However, Yang Xu was having none of this. She raised her hand, ready to grab at the Heavenly Demon Queen. Though she knew she would fail, she really just needed a punching bag to unleash all her anger.

    Then suddenly, “Eh?”

“His Dao Heart has stabilized?” Yang Xu’s eyes turned wide as she could feel that not only was his Dao Heart stable, but their mastery over the Dao of Space had been slightly strengthened.

“What happened?” Yang Xu wondered and the Heavenly Demon Queen explained, a rare occurrence. However, maybe because she felt it would be troublesome if Yang Xu continued to pressure her to explain. “Your brother has passed beyond the first threshold. Though it stands as merely one of many such trials, he has nonetheless crossed the first one.”

“Wait. Then, this is going to happen again!?”

“Such an occurrence may yet transpire again, but it ought not befall him during his period of seclusion.” The Heavenly Demon Queen stated and reenphased, “As for you, you would do well to honor your word, lest you inflict harm upon him rather than render him aid.”

Then, more weeks had passed and a month had gone by, whereby their punishment for being ‘travelling coaches’ ceased.

That was when Yang Xu pressured the Heavenly Demon Queen once more. She truly regretted ever promising to not contact her Brother. This past month has been hard on her–truly hard. It had to be noted that since birth, the Twins had never been apart. Certainly, in terms of physical space, they have been separated. However, their Souls had never been separated like this, where one could not contact the other.

To Yang Xu, this whole month has been uncomfortable. She could never fathom how others manage to deal with the loneliness of the world, where there was no one behind their backs at all times. Where was the tree they leaned on?

This feeling was not like losing a powerful Father or unparalleled Master. It was as though a part of her had been lost. If Yang Xu were to put it into words, it would be more severe than losing one’s other half.

That was just how deep their connection was, and how difficult it was to separate themselves.

She even felt blessed that she had this connection with her Brother. She felt blessed that throughout all her life, he had always been there for her.

She wanted to immediately speak to him, to immediately hear his voice and feel his warmth. It need not be physical, just establishing the same connection she once had with him was enough, where she could speak and share with him anything, at any time.

However, the Heavenly Demon Queen was conniving. After all, with her years of experience, how could she not know that maintaining such a distance between two parties, who had been instinctively linked since birth, would not cause some kind of backlash?

So, she had found a way to convince Yang Xu to make an oath upon her Dao Heart, swearing to Heaven that she would refrain from contacting Yang Ji during this time.

Still, it should be said that their connection was not all lost. Though they were barred from communicating during this period, their cultivation was still linked, since Yang Xu could still help him cultivate when she had the time. So, whenever Yang Ji makes a minor breakthrough in gaining some form of enlightenment, Yang Xu would immediately be able to sense it.

Unfortunately, whether this was beneficial for her or not could be argued. After all, each time she felt a change in her cultivation, she would flare up and ask the Heavenly Demon Queen when her Brother would come out.

It did not help that her other Family members would also ask her if Yang Ji was doing okay, since he had never entered seclusion for this long before. This was odd since Yang Hao would enter seclusion for a month or two on occasion and they were not that concerned.

Su Yan was especially concerned, to the point she would come to Yang Xu each day to ask about Yang Ji’s progress.

As for why they could not just break the Isolation Array and check themselves? It was because the Heavenly Demon Queen had warned them against it, that it would ruin all his efforts and even affect his insights into the Dao of Space. Also, she had specifically made it such that spying on Yang Ji would cause a backlash against him.

Why she had done so, no one but her knows. This only serves to make her relationship with the Yang Family more hostile, but the Heavenly Demon Queen did not care. It seemed like she had a greater plan in mind, and did not wish for any disruptors.

Nevertheless, it was odd how she could view the inside of the room, but she did not allow others to view it, not even Yang Xu. She was also the only one who could communicate with Yang Ji during this time, and even she kept minimal contact unless necessary.

Naturally, due to this, the Heavenly Demon Queen would be bombarded with questions regarding his status. She might be able to hide from his other Family members inside of Yang Xu, but how could she possibly hide from Yang Xu herself?

If the Heavenly Demon Queen had to say who was the bane of her life, this little girl would certainly be the first. Even her greatest enemy was not as annoying as her. She lost count of how many times this girl had asked her when Yang Ji would come out.

She forgot how many times she would have to say that he was still busy comprehending the Dao of Space, that he still needed more time!

She could not even fathom why everyone else was starting to be concerned when Yang Ji had been inside his room for only a week! It was only a week! People would spend decades, centuries, some even millennia to comprehend the Dao. Yet, these people were fussing over a boy doing it for just a week!? This was so absurd she wanted to scream!

Even worse, these people were all cultivators! They have experienced how it was like to comprehend a single Dao. Yet, here they were, concerned about a young boy who had only been in seclusion for a week?

Still, thankfully, all these questions and answers would cease today.

Yang Xu keenly felt something stirring inside her. Soon, her eyes flashed and she immediately waved her hand, tearing through Space. However, this tear was not a Void Crack. It did not have the usual murky dark and mysterious space inside. Rather, It was clear as though a window had been placed in front of her. It clearly showed her the exit.

It was a perfect passway to the outside, to the platform. If the other students were to see this, they would certainly be astonished at the sigh of it, and the sight of Yang Xu’s gaping mouth.

However, she was not the only one shocked. There was another party that was too shocked for words, and this person now had a true look of frustration on her face, as though she had eaten a turd many times over.

Naturally, this person was none other than the Heavenly Demon Queen.
