The inside of the pavilion was silent, and other than the people from Sky Emperor Mountain, Yue Mingkong was the only one sitting there. At this moment, her expression was calm and transcendent, as if her entire body was carved out of the finest marble in the world.

She was wearing a long robe with a gorgeous face that didn’t have any hints of powder while her slick hair was bundled up by a simple jade hairpin. Other than that, she didn’t have any accessories on her, but it was enough for her to trump over the other prodigal damsels. The aura of a supreme emperor of hers made it difficult for anyone from Sky Emperor Mountain to look down on her as they must treat her with caution.

On the other hand, she was also the fiancee of Gu Changge.

During this period, Gu Changge showed up in the Eternal Overcast Battlefield and saved a damsel in distress by rescuing Ying Yu. News about it spread everywhere, leaving many prodigal damsels envious.

Seeing Yue Mingkong suddenly giving a warning today, the people from Sky Emperor Mountain couldn’t help but smile bitterly as they guessed that it must have something to do with the rumours. However, they also knew that she wasn’t being unreasonable since there were some things that they indeed shouldn’t even think about.

Gu Changge was an extremely brilliant man, and things would still be negotiable if he wasn’t tied to a marriage, but since he already had a marriage contract, it would be better if Ying Yu didn’t have any feelings for him because it was destined to never happen.

“Princess Mingkong, I don’t understand what you are saying? Are you afraid that I will steal your fiance?” Ying Yu asked with furrowed brows as she came to understand the meaning behind Yue Mingkong’s words.

She chose to go head-to-head with her because she didn’t like how casual Yue Mingkong was at controlling everything. As a prodigal damsel herself, she also didn’t wish to lower her head in front of her at this moment. She indeed had some feelings for Gu Changge, but it was embarrassing for Yue Mingkong to just say it out right in front of her.

Listening to her reply, Yue Mingkong shook her head with a calm expression on her gorgeous face before speaking in a tone that was just as emotionless as before. “I’m saving you for your own good. If you don’t want any pain in the future, it’s best for you to stay away from Gu Changge. As for stealing him away from me…”

At this point, there was a slight hint of mockery and indifference in her voice. From the start, she was never worried that Gu Changge would fall for any woman. Even though she was a very possessive person, sometimes she had no choice but to share him with others, but some women were destined to only become Gu Changge’s pawns without posing any threat to her.

She initially pitied her and tried to persuade her, but seeing that she wasn’t having any of it at all, she didn’t care much.

[I have said what I should say. If she chooses to delve deeper in the future, she will only end up hurting herself. Prince Ying has become the Successor of Demonic Arts, waging war against the entire world, and her sister is now his enemy. I think it is highly unlikely that Gu Changge isn’t involved in any of this, and it’s possible that he planned all of this. If Ying Yu finds out about the truth in the future, what will she do? I’m afraid that she’ll hate him to the core, and according to Gu Changge’s personality, he definitely won’t be merciful towards her.]

Yue Mingkong wanted to avoid another disaster, so she came to warn Ying Yu, and as for Ying Yu thinking that she was jealous, she couldn’t care less. However, what she didn’t know was that Ying Shuang’s identity had been taken over by a horse-feeding servant, so he wasn’t worried at all that Ying Yu would find out about the truth.

“What do you mean?” Ying Yu furrowed her brows as she didn’t understand why Yue Mingkong was looking at her with a slight look of pity.

However, Yue Mingkong didn’t continue with her words, nor did she pay any slightest attention to her while being as silent as a goddess. There was a strangeness in her gloomy eyes.

Seeing that she wasn’t saying anything, Ying Yu breathed a sigh and calmed down. “Prince Gu has helped me and Sky Emperor Mountain, so I’ll do what I can to repay him. As for anything else, I believe that you are thinking too much, Princess Mingkong.”

After that, she planned to get up and say her goodbyes.

Yue Mingkong nodded. “I’m glad that you understand.”

“Oh, you are here, Mingkong. I’ve been looking for you for a while…”

However, right at this moment, a slightly surprised voice was suddenly heard below the pavilion and the sound of footsteps was heard closely after.

Then, a man in white robes and an upright body came in with a gentle smile on his face and many followers with a strong aura following behind him.

The man was none other than Gu Changge.

During this period, the Eternal Overcast Battlefield wasn’t peaceful at all, so he simply left the place and planned to first figure out who the real Successor of Demonic Arts was. Other than that, he also found out that Yue Mingkong had arrived at the Southern Flourishing Heaven and just so happened to be looking for her.

Speaking of which, after killing the Mortal One during his last trip to the Lower Realm, it was reasonable to say that the next Fortuitous One wouldn’t appear that quickly, but according to the System’s notification, the appearance of the demoness in red seemed to be inevitable. That was why Gu Changge planned to gain some information from Yue Mingkong since she might know something.

Hearing his voice, Ying Yu, who was planning to leave at first, was also slightly stunned, so she couldn’t help but halt her steps in surprise. She didn’t know whether her conversation with Yue Mingkong just now was heard by him.

“Prince Gu…”

“Young Master Changge…” The people from Sky Emperor Mountain quickly greeted him with respect.

Gu Changge nodded slightly and swept his gaze over everyone before looking at Yue Mingkong who was sitting at the back.

Seeing the somewhat intrigued smile on his face, Ying Yu questioned if it was her own illusion.

At the same time, Yue Mingkong, who had been very calm and relaxed, suddenly looked panicked and unnatural, as if she was caught red-handed by Gu Changge.

However, the slight hint of emotion quickly disappeared as she reverted back to her calm self.

“Changge, are you looking for me?” She was the first to speak with a slight surprise, but other than that, she wasn’t in shock at all since she wasn’t stunned by Gu Changge’s sudden appearance.

Even though this was their first meeting since the Immortal Gu Family’s banquet the last time, she knew clearly that during her journey in the Heavenly Star Realm, Gu Changge had always kept an eye on her whereabouts, but he never chose to show up.

[Did he come to me today because of Ying Yu and he is afraid that I will ruin his plan?]

She was a little confused inside her heart.

“If I want to see you, do I need a reason for it?”

He gave a casual smile while walking to her side naturally. Then, in front of everyone’s gaze, he gently held her hand, giving the look of two old lovely couples.

The scene sent a bitter feeling into the hearts of the people from Sky Emperor Mountain, and even Ying Yu didn’t expect Gu Changge to make such a move in front of everyone. From her perspective, she began to wonder whether he did so to tell her that he only had Yue Mingkong inside his heart.

All of a sudden, she felt a strange sense of disappointment, but the emotion quickly went away.

While slightly stunned, Yue Mingkong stared closely at him with her clear and flawless jewel-like eyes before saying, “Are you afraid that I’m bullying this little girl out of jealousy?”

If this was in the past, she would definitely feel embarrassed by Gu Changge’s actions, but knowing about how he loved to tease her, she couldn’t care less because she knew that more more shy she became, the more he liked to tease her, so she refused to give him what he wanted.

Gu Changge shook his head while the smile on his face was still as bright as before. “I know that you are reasonable enough to not care about these things, so you should stop scaring her.” Then, he looked back and smiled at Ying Yu who was still confused. “Mingkong is a very jealous girl. Every time a girl shows up next to me, she’ll always be like this…”

“Gu Changge…” Yue Mingkong suddenly interrupted his words with a somewhat infuriated look.

[He knows clearly that this isn’t my intention, but he still said it. Does he really want to cause a huge ruckus out of this?]

Listening to him, Ying Yu couldn’t help but giggle as she quickly said, “Prince Gu, don’t worry. I won’t mind such a thing. Since you want to see Princess Mingkong, as an outsider, I shall not bother you any longer. If there’s another chance, I’ll definitely invite you to Sky Emperor Mountain for a chat. We’ll take our leave now.”

After that, she brought the people from Sky Emperor Mountain away without stopping.

“Safe travels, Lady Ying Yu.” Gu Changge maintained the faint smile on his face while watching them leave.

However, the moment they left, he slowly withdrew the smile and dismissed everyone before looking at Yue Mingkong with interest. “Mingkong, are you worried that I’ll hurt Ying Yu? Am I such a ruthless and cold man in your eyes?”

Naturally, he knew that she would never be jealous about such a thing. At most, she could not help but persuade Ying Yu out of kindness, but to Gu Changge, it was just a trivial matter. To him, Ying Yu was actually no different from Ying Shuang as he only saw her as just a pawn that he could simply use. No matter what, she would never replace Yue Mingkong’s position inside his heart.

“To you, she is just a pawn, but to her, you are her saviour whom she admires. She is a poor person too,” she mumbled without mentioning the fact that Gu Changge plotted against Ying Shuang, causing the two brother and sister to become enemies. Even though she didn’t see it with her own eyes, she knew that it must have something to do with him.

“It doesn’t matter whether she is a pawn or not. I only know that you are jealous…” Gu Changge smiled.

She stared at him and said, “Even if I’m jealous, will you consider my feelings?”

“No.” He was very blunt, so she gently rolled her eyes and ignored him afterward.

However, both of them tacitly agreed not to mention what happened in the Lower Realm at all. Because of the few World Purifying Green Lotus seeds that Gu Changge left for her, her cultivation had now advanced significantly to a point where even she could face against an ancient freak with just her cultivation alone and not use any other methods.

“It seems like you don’t miss your husband at all during this period.” Gu Changge noticed her expression and suddenly sighed, seemingly looking sad. “I was happy to find out that you have arrived at the Southern Flourishing Heaven, but you are now giving me the look of someone who isn’t in the mood to care for your husband. Do you know how sad that makes me?”

Listening to him, Yue Mingkong stared at him coldly with her crystal-clear eyes, without saying a word, as if everything she said would hold a huge weight. After all, she knew his personality very well and understood that he was just teasing her at the moment, so she refused to give him what he wanted.

Gu Changge also seemed resigned at the moment and continued sighing. “Mingkong, you’ve changed. You don’t even care about your husband now?”

She still remained calm without a hint of emotion on her gorgeous face while staring at him with her crystal-clear eyes. Her expression seemed to suggest that she was waiting for his act to finish.

However, the next moment, Gu Changge suddenly reached out and picked her up by the waist before heading deeper into the pavilion.

“Changge…” she murmured in surprise as she was stunned by his actions.

She could no longer maintain the calmness she had just now since they were doing this in the middle of the day.

Then, Gu Changge said calmly, “There’s no use calling me now. You force me to do this. Call me ‘dear’ and I’ll let you go.”

“Dear,” she answered honestly with several hints of obedience. She knew that she was no match for him, so there was no point struggling.

“I’m just teasing you. I can’t believe you think it’s real.” Gu Changge couldn’t help but chuckle.

No matter how refined her mind was, Yue Mingkong was infuriated while gritting her teeth. Soon after, a shocking battle took place here with bright runes, shining palaces and shaking mountains, causing many buildings to collapse and become ruins.

Many cultivators were stunned as they came to find out what was going on, but they were blown away by Gu Changge’s followers far away. With cold sweat, they understood that this matter was not for them to probe.

“Prince Ying is the Successor of Demonic Arts… Is this true? Or is there something wrong…”

Meanwhile, inside a silent mansion in a remote ancient city of Southern Flourishing Heaven, a white-dressed woman wearing a veil sat on a stone chair while murmuring softly. Her features were delicate with crystal-clear eyes and exquisite eyebrows. Even though she was wearing a veil, it was difficult to conceal her flawless and cold aura.

“Why is there another Successor of Demonic Arts? According to my memory, isn’t there only one every generation?” She seemed to be mumbling to herself, but it looked more like she was talking with someone. “Is it possible that some unknown problem has happened in this generation?”

“That’s impossible.” Suddenly, a cold laughing voice resounded in her mind that was filled with a terrifying demonic nature and evil.

“Then what’s going on?” The white-dressed girl couldn’t help but furrow her brows, as if she still couldn’t figure out anything. “Could it be that this Successor of Demonic Arts is a fake one? But he did cause quite a ruckus some time ago. Whether it was the Skyward Ancient City or the Celestial Ancient Continent, there were always traces of the Successor of Demonic Arts. It is also the same not long ago in the Immortal Gu Family. Could there be something wrong?”

Her voice was filled with confusion as she couldn’t figure out what was going on.

“It’s none of our business. Besides, with the Successor of Demonic Arts being the main topic of everyone’s conversation, it’ll be much more convenient for us to carry out our plan. We no longer need to operate in the dark just like before.” The demonic and monstrous voice resounded in the mind of the white-dressed woman once more.

“You’re right, but nowadays, I still need to accumulate quite a few points before getting a spot to enter the Immortal Academy. Given how chaotic the Eternal Overcast battlefield seems to be recently, this is a good chance for us.”

Then, a hint of mixed emotions flashed across the eyes of the white-dressed woman, as if she suddenly thought of something.

“What’s the problem? The current Successor of Demonic Arts is Prince Ying, which has nothing to do with us. As long as we act stealthily, no one will find out anything.” The demonic voice rang in her mind again, seemingly persuading her. However, the white-dressed woman nodded her head with eyes still full of mixed emotions, and because of this pause, the demonic voice was heard once more. “Actually, if we want to be bolder, with Gu Changge trust in you and his Talent, we can devour him and—”

“Shut up.”

As soon as such words came out, the eyes of the white-dressed woman suddenly turned cold while a terrifying aura emerged from her body, causing the voice in the mind to halt, as if he didn’t want any conflict with her.

“I’ve told you many times not to mention this. Otherwise, with my current abilities, you should know that I can completely devour you.” The voice of the white-dressed woman returned to a cold and calm tone, rendering the voice in her mind silent with a bit of fear.

However, the voice was quickly heard once more with a hint of reluctance. “You are the Successor of Demonic Arts, which means that you are destined to stand in opposition to everyone in this world. Are you really going to spend your life pretending to be a servant pouring tea and peeling fruit for everyone? You know clearly that Gu Changge has never treated you as his woman. In his eyes, you are at best a mere plaything that he plays when he is in a good mood and ignores whenever he is in a bad mood. Su Qingge, you are such a clever person, so you should know what he has done during this period of time. If he finds out that you are the Successor of Demonic Arts, do you really think he’ll let you go? No, not only won’t he do that, but he’ll also kill you with his own hands.”

“Shut up! I know that Prince Gu isn’t a good person, but he’ll never do something like that. I know him very well.” Her voice was full of coldness and with a hint of bewilderment and light trembling, as if she wouldn’t even believe the words she said.

“Oh, you really are a self-absorbed woman. You don’t really think you carry a lot of weight in Gu Changge’s heart, do you? If that’s true, why would he bring you back to the Upper REalm and ignore you for so long after abandoning you to the Primal Demonic Temple… You should know that the two of us experience the same thing, so I have the same thoughts as you, but the difference is that I dare to say what you do not dare to say. If you insist on thinking that Gu Changge will be on your side, then you can go tell him that you are the Successor of Demonic Arts and see what he will do—”

“You better shut up!”

Listening to him, the white-dressed woman suddenly turned icy cold while a terrifying demonic nature flowed through her delicate body, as if it could devour everything in the world.

Seeing that she was about to have an outbreak, the voice inside her mind slowly went quiet and no longer spoke.

However, the white-dressed couldn’t help but feel a sense of loss and sadness. [Still, how could I not be thinking of that right now?]

  1. My jaw dropped. What a good twist.
Especially that it has a clear basis.
He already revisited every woman he obtained.
    But not her.
Every other character has its own plot now.
But she didn’t, aside from getting her memories which is too vague on its own.
But most of them, she was a part of Ye Ling plot (iirc, that’s the 1st leek MC had) He was supposed to seal the demon halberd and gain the inheritance of the supreme guy, as MC predicted. He would also take Su Qingge as his main lead. But in narrative sense, just leaving the halberd sealed is too lackluster. So having her as the inheritor and obtaining the halberd afterwards would make a really good plottwist.
It’s also the only connection that demonic inheritance has with the story, aside from MC, which makes this an even more natural progression.
    In short, I like it.

  2. Well she was mentioned to be possessed by something, but this is a nice twist. And at this point I trust the writer to make something interesting out of it, which is a pleasant feeling in itself ^^

  3. The author definitely played us like a violin, just like Gu Changge would. I think at this point no one expected this twist. To be honest, I almost completely forgot about her, but the author didn’t, which makes me very happy.
