Preparations for Kutur were to be made by an aide brought in by Christophe.

While they waited for them to finish preparations, they had a practical discussion with the dignitaries of Razequa Amamiya.

However, since Christophe and Remezhov were the only two main members of Summit Kingdom, there were no major changes from the previous discussions.

The main topic of discussion this time was how to deal with the cards that Remezhov received.

Since most of the discussion had already been done, most of the discussion this time was just for confirmation.

While they were talking about this, the preparations for Kutur were finished.

Christophe told them that he had prepared a special tool for Kutur, but unfortunately, it was not yet available. Thus, they had to use something else instead.

There was a little drop in quality because of the lack of special tools, but the Kutur was still good enough to be considered delicious.

“Hmmm. This, this! … just as I have expected! This is good.”

Kou, who was surprised to discover Kutur, was drinking it with a happy expression on his face.

That alone showed that he was used to drinking Kutur.

In fact, the other members of Razequa Amamiya had subtle expressions on their faces.

Looking at their faces, Christophe understood that other than Kou, this was the first time they drank Kutur, so he immediately tried to follow up.

However, Kou was the first to give the follow-up a warning while laughing.

“Ahaha. It might seem a bit astringent at first if you’re not used to drinking it.”

Queen Floria nodded at Kou’s words.

“…I think it has a little too pungent for an astringent taste, is this medicine?”

“Hmmm. I think it depends on what part or plant was used, or if they are even using it as medicine, but what do you think?”

Kou tilted his head and looked at Christophe.

Christophe nodded in agreement when asked.

“Yes, that’s right. In our country, though it is drunk as a normal beverage, but in some other countries, it is treated as a medicine.”

“I see.”

Queen Floria sipped the Kutur once more after responding.

She seemed more accustomed to it than the first time she tasted it, but she still seemed to be affected by its astringent taste.

“Some people add sugar to adjust the taste. Though, we typically drink it as it is.”

At Christophe’s additional information, Kou nodded in agreement.

“When you are used to drinking it, it will feel strange to put sugar in it. But there are some people who can’t stand the taste. So, to them, it makes sense to put sugar in.”

“I see.”

Floria, who drank the Kutur as if checking the taste once more, smiled and continued talking.

“Well, aside from me, since Kou seems to like this, can we make a deal?”

“Of course. I’d be happy to.”

The unexpected offer made Christophe smile, and he replied to Queen Floria.

Even though they were going to make a deal for Kutur, it was not that big of a deal, but only a small purchase by the royal family to be given to Kou.

As expected, it appears that the taste of Kutur was not accepted by anyone other than the one named Kou.

On the contrary, Christophe found it strange that the one named Kou was so accustomed to drinking it.

However, as there were similar foods and beverages on different continents, the discussion ended easily and without much problem.

Now Christophe and Remezhov were summarizing the main points of the discussion.

From now on, Remezhov would be stationed at the embassy.

They would need to finalize what to do in the event of a sudden call or something in that line.

Of course, this was decided before he had arrived at Razequa Amamiya, so there were no major changes to their plans, but there were still many details that would need to be adjusted.

“… So, in that case, would it be correct to say that we will leave the rest for the government to check?”

“Yeah. I think so.”

With most of the work done, Christophe and Remezhov decided to take a break.

Perhaps waiting for the right moment, the assistant who was standing by spoke to Christophe.

“Christophe-sama, may I come in?”

“What is it?”

“Iyezu is waiting in the other room to talk to you.”

“Iyezu?”

Iyezu was the priest accompanying this delegation. Usually, a visiting group was accompanied by at least one priest or priestess.

But Christophe had no idea what the priest wanted to talk about. There was no particular matter regarding faith involved in today’s discussion.

“All right. We’ll go see him.”

Tilting his head, Christophe went to Iyezu.

The moment he saw Iyezu’s face, Christophe knew something was wrong and his expression tightened.

“What’s wrong? What happened?”

“… I wasn’t sure whether to report it or not, but I thought it would be better to tell you, so I decided to report it.”

Christophe’s expression turned quizzical at this preamble.

Since Iyezu was only a priest, he was not obligated to report to Christophe. However, even though he was a priest belonging to the church, the church itself was often connected to the state.

Summit Kingdom was such a case.

“What?”

“Well, about that man named Kou…”

“Yes.”

“… He might be a God.”

There was a short pause between them after Iyezu uttered those words.

“… What?”

“I was saying that maybe, that person is a God, since you know, the administrator of Amamiya Tower is said to be a living god.”

Christophe froze at Iyezu’s report.

It was indeed said that the person who conquered Amamiya Tower was a living god. However, the actual god was only mentioned in stories, and he had never heard of him (or any God?) appearing in public.

There was a story that he appeared when the town was first built inside the Tower or when the Tower was first attacked, but there were no such stories nowadays.

“How did you know?”

“For a moment, I felt a sense of divine authority leaking from him.”

Iyezu was a seriously trained priest, and it appeared that he was able to sense divine authority, especially under the presence of a God.

Christophe was a complete novice when it comes to such things, so he had no choice but to trust Iyezu’s senses.

“…. What are we going to do?”

“I don’t know what to do… If they made contact with us, then we will have to respond, but if they didn’t, maybe it will be better to just leave it alone, right?”

If they pushed too hard, it could cause a big uproar.

As long as the other side did not reveal their true identity and approached them only as ‘Kou’, they should have no reason to investigate.

“I see.”

“Don’t do anything unnecessary, okay?”

“Yes.”

Iyezu bowed politely at Christophe’s reminder.

Some priests might run amok in the hope of their own advancement, but Iyezu could be trusted to a certain extent in that respect.

That was how much he trusted him.

“A God, huh? That then makes a lot of sense in a way.”

Christophe’s mutter was almost a monologue, but Iyezu did not miss it.

“Is it about Kutur?”

“Yes. I’ve never heard of it being produced outside our country, but it might be present in the Sanctuary of Gods or something, right?”

“So Kutur can we say that Kutur is a drink for the Gods?”

Iyezu said, smiling slightly.

“I don’t know. I would love it if they advertise it that way though.”

To Iyezu’s joke, Christophe responded with a shrug.

Of course, Iyezu’s response was based assuming that God rarely worked for the good of man.

“Anyway, putting aside whether he is really a God or not, I still hope Kutur spreads because of him, you know?”

Christophe, who would like to spread Kutur as an industry if he could, says this with the slightest of wishes.
