I washed off the dirt and changed my clothes, by which time the effects of the spell had worn off, and I felt much better.

The power I was affected by was likely the result of Silva’s special powers resonating or going out of control.

    The power of curses.

Silva Seyfried was born with a special constitution, in which so-called vengeful spirits gather within his Mana, and whenever he uses Magic, it’s always affected by them. In the beginning of Ring of Fire, he becomes able to control his powers by interacting with the heroine, but not fully and sometimes he still loses control of it. Towards the end of Silva’s route, his powers go out of control by quite a lot. In the end, he makes peace with his powers and he stops losing control over it.

This time it happened because Apricot and the others were interested in his power, and this probably caused his emotions to heighten, resonating with Apricot’s dark magic or Orchid’s aura as a dark mage… It’s unclear what actually happened, and for Silva, this is a power he doesn’t want, so I shouldn’t jump to conclusions based on speculations.

    “I AM REALLY SORRY!!”

Even without that, as soon as Silva woke up and understood the situation, he came apologizing to me and Apricot with incredible vigor, causing us a lot of hassle.

His cautious and slightly cocky attitude towards me had disappeared overnight, and he was apologizing profusely, kneeling on the ground. He probably thought this incident happened because he couldn’t control his powers. Thus why he apologized more to me and Apricot, the two people most affected.

For now, the cause is unknown and we don’t know Silva’s powers, so I’m thinking of treating this as an ‘incident of unknown cause that occurred near Silva’.

“”I-I’m going to the scene of the accident!! I might be able to atone— find something out!””

However, while Silva didn’t say this explicitly, he declared that he wanted to deal with the incident he believed he caused and headed straight to the scene of the accident… Well, Ms. Mary is there too, so it should be fine. She’s probably the only one Silva is aware of who knows about his powers, so I’ll leave it to her.

“I might have touched the Adam’s Pandora (Forbidden Primordial box)…I will go check on him.”

When Apricot, who had been affected just like me, recovered, she heard that Silva had gone to the scene of the accident, and decided to follow after him, leaving words that were incomprehensible for our visitors.

Come to think of it, I was told she became involved with Silva because she noticed his mysterious powers, so she must have been worried that she hurt him, and went to apologize. She’s a good girl at heart.

“I want to ask you something, Clo.”

    “What’s wrong, Gen?”

As I was relaxing while sipping the coffee Gray brewed again and watching him talk with Sumi and Ms. Cork, Gen spoke to me.

He looked like he wanted to keep what he was about to say a secret, and he lowered his voice so Gray and the others couldn’t hear him, so I followed suit and lowered my voice too.

“It’s about the students who spent the night.”

“You mean Ms. Kriemhild and the others?”

“Yeah… Leaving Kriemhild aside, I heard the rest of them all had a duel against Miss Violet. What’s that about?”

    “Oh, that, huh…”

I understood exactly what Gen wanted to ask. At some point, the topic of Ms. Kriemhild and the others must have come up, and they probably found out that Ms. Mary and the others were her duel opponents.

It would be difficult for him to ask Lady Violet, and looking at the situation alone, she’s in a strange situation where she’s with people whom she didn’t get along with at the academy, so he most likely wanted to hear what was going on from me.

“So Kriemhild is the only one who’s clearly a friend?”

    “Correct.”

To be honest, there are many things I don’t understand either, but once I explained what I did understand, Gen seemed to be convinced by my explanation.

As for Ms. Mary, there are complicated circumstances, so I only told him that they were in the middle of making up.

“Still, this Kriemhild girl, she’s so lively and cute. She’s a little ditzy, but that’s what makes her charming.”

    Does Gen like airheaded girls?

She’s a natural airhead unlike Ms. Cosmos, but maybe he likes straightforward girls. Come to think of it, the reason why Canary came on to me in the past was because Gen wasn’t used to dealing with women, so maybe he prefers girls with less aggressive personality.

… Hmm, speaking of Canary, I feel like I forgot to tell Gen and Sumi something.

“That honesty of her is probably what allowed her to become friends with Miss Violet regardless of the difference in their social status. She’s a strong girl despite her appearance.”

I tried to remember what I forgot to tell him, but my thread of thoughts quickly disappeared as Gen continued speaking.

If it was important, I would remember it again at some point.

“That’s true. Apparently they didn’t talk much when they were at the academy, but I heard from Ms. Kriemhild that if she hadn’t been away from the academy for her family business during the duel, she would have sided with Lady Violet.”

    “Even against Prince Vermillion?”

“Also, when the academy students came here for the investigation, she was the only one who tried to talk to us in a friendly manner despite the hostility that the other students showed. She’s a kind and strong girl.”

    She’s strong, but also worrying.

I like her, and when I see her talking with Lady Violet, they both seem to be having fun, so I’m glad they’re friends.

“She must have a strong sense of self that is not easily swayed. I think it’s because she’s not trying to make her position better by carrying favors that she’s become close with Miss Violet.”

    “I guess… so”

“What’s wrong? It’s like you have something to say.”

    “No, it’s nothing serious.”

    But still, something feels off.

Maybe it’s because I know about Ring of Fire and that Ms. Mary stole her role of the heroine, but she gives me an indescribable sense of discomfort.

She’s cheerful and energetic, not very good at studying, has low tolerance for alcohol, has a distinctive way of laughing, and can express her emotions vividly. She’s a good girl who cares about her friends so much that she’s even able to get angry at Prince Vermillion for Lady Violet’s sake.

—– Huh? There’s something strange about the characteristics I just listed.

However, Ms. Mary herself doesn’t seem to have noticed anything strange, so maybe I’m just overthinking it.

Apart from that, I’m also jealous that she’s able to bring out expressions in Lady Violet that I haven’t been able to bring out yet. Very jealous.

“I don’t really get it, but… well, she can use alchemy magic so she’ll have a bright future.”

“That’s probably true. Ms. Kriemhild seems like she could do well anywhere.”

“I heard there’s another girl besides her who uses alchemy magic this year… oh but wasn’t Miss Violet’s duel opponent also…?”

“Yeah, it was Ms. Mary. She’s skilled in not only alchemy magic, but in all areas of magic, and is already in high demand.”

    “Wow…isn’t she just too talented?”

    Yeah, she is.

It might not seem like it when you see how eager she is to become friends with Lady Violet, but Ms. Mary’s specs are outstanding in many ways. It really doesn’t seem like it though.

“Oh, by the way, this is a different matter.”

Maybe deciding that it would be better to not talk much about this subject, Gen finished talking about Ms. Kriemhild and others, and brought up another topic.

“We talked to Miss Violet about many things. She’s a good girl, unlike the rumors.”

“I hope you didn’t tell her anything strange.”

“We said a lot, but don’t worry about it.”

    “Hey now!”

I’m fine with them talking about my childhood, embarrassing as it may be, but if they mentioned unnecessary things, I’ll really send Gen’s poems to his Wife.

Ms. Cosmos would probably say ‘wow, what a wonderful world I never knew about!’ and ask him for more poems. And then she’ll probably read them to her children during bedtime. Gen will only be able to watch and suffer.

“I’m just joking. We were just reminiscing about old times. I didn’t misrepresent anything.”

    “… I guess that’s good then.”

“Well, you managed to get married to such a good girl… such a fine young lady. Treat her well.”

“You don’t need to tell me that.”

“You two can have the second happiest family after mine.”

“Don’t worry, my Family will be happier than yours, Gen.”

Although it happened by chance, I’m very thankful that I was able to marry Lady Violet, and I hope we continue to get along.

Looking at my Mother from my previous life and my Parents in this life, I didn’t have a good impression of married couples, and I couldn’t really imagine myself falling in love with a woman, so I never thought I would be able to find someone I found so precious.

I’m sure there will be many difficulties, but I hope we continue to–

“Still, her belly isn’t noticeable. But even if it’s not noticeable, women still have a hard time. You should be considerate of her.”

“Huh, what are you talking about?”

Wondering where Gen’s incomprehensible consideration was coming from, I took a sip of coffee,

“What I’m saying is that… she’s pregnant so you should take care of her.”

    “*cough*?!

    And I spat it out.

“—You damn nobleman with completely different values!”

“What’s wrong all of a sudden?!
