“To think Young Master has gotten so powerful. No doubt he’ll catch up to Master in no time.”

The King with Six Crowns, Jun Yao, would’ve retorted her any other day, but right now, he was silent, looking absolutely at a loss for words.
“This has always been Young Master Changge’s level of strength…” Chosen Monk Jin Chan, on the other hand, reacted fairly calmly. However, a thought hit him. [How does the Successor of Demonic Arts escape his grasp every time, then? Could he be just that powerful?]
While everyone was feeling all sorts of emotions, Gu Changge landed on the ground and looked towards the shocked and grim-looking Godly Illusion Clan. Jiang Luoshen especially, with an impassive smirk. “Are you not going to avenge them, Princess Luoshen? I wonder what you make of this misunderstanding?”
Jiang Luoshen gnashed her teeth and clenched her fists as rage and uneasiness enveloped her face.
As assertive as she normally was, she dared not look straight into Gu Changge’s profound, impassive gaze right then. She couldn’t help looking away despite still acting tough. “I acknowledge your ability, Gu Changge, but we, the Godly Illusion Clan, won’t fall victim to bullies either.” She sounded much feebler compared to earlier.
Everyone present was naturally shrewd and could make out the uncertainty in her voice. After all, it was impossible not to be shocked when a cultivator who was just about to reach the Sacred King Realm was killed just like that.
Unless the Godly Illusion Clan dared to fight Gu Changge to the death, the ball wasn’t theirs to serve, given the current circumstances.

Jiang Luoshen’s countenance turned beyond awful, even feeling humiliated at that, for she hadn’t expected such words from Gu Changge.
She naturally knew what Gu Changge was trying to do. If she really fell for Gu Changge’s provocation and fought him, she was likely to die. She was no match for him at all; she knew that at the very least.
That said, if she displayed weakness and refused, she’d have disgraced herself and the Godly Illusion Clan in front of so many people.
Seeing so, a blond elderly woman next to Jiang Luoshen with profound powers whispered to the young woman gravely, for fear that the latter’s impulsiveness out of youth would ruin everything. “We can’t clash with them anymore, Princess. Very quickly, she took a deep breath to calm down. “Gu Changge, as the number one of the younger generation, you know well that I’m no match for you, and yet you still pick on me like that. Is this what you always do?” she retorted as a hint of grievance flashed across her amber eyes staring at him.
Her words shocked everyone, and they couldn’t believe such words would come from her, as it was no secret how lofty this princess of the Godly Illusion Clan was.
Yue Mingkong, who stood amongst the Immortal Academy disciples, narrowed her eyes slightly at that.
In her memories, Jiang Luoshen had sent her men to this place in search of her ancestors’ relics after the Godly Illusion Tomb emerged. But then they encountered Gu Changge in the vault. At that time, not only had he seized their Prime Ancestor’s Divinity Crystal from them, but they were defeated by him and even nearly died there.
Subsequently, Jiang Luoshen would visit Gu Changge at the Gu Family Residence every now and then for some reason. She even pretended as though the man had never seized the Divinity Crystal from them or, worse, nearly killed them.

One had to admit that Jiang Luoshen was shrewd, making herself the victim effortlessly. Moreover, she looked like a goddess with her long blond hair, impeccable facial features, and fair, flawless skin. So, naturally, many young prodigies felt bad for her.
Gu Changge, on the other hand, chuckled without a care. He naturally knew what she was trying to do. “That’d be an exaggeration, Princess Luoshen. I never consider myself a ruthless man, nor one to ever inflict violence upon women. No way would I do something like that. Of course, if you don’t believe me, you can try seeing for yourself if I will kill you.”
His smile was as nonchalant as ever, like he was only stating a measly issue. But chills ran down Jiang Luoshen’s spine inexplicably, having a feeling that Gu Changge genuinely wanted to feel what it was like to kill her.
After all, who could guarantee the outcome of a battle? Nonetheless, she was not that stupid to act on such meager chances.
Everyone reacted differently but, at the same time, felt shocked and uneasy towards Gu Changge’s words. [He can’t possibly be daring enough to kill Jiang Luoshen in front of everyone, can he?!]
“Of course, I believe you. Why wouldn’t I!? Since you already put it like that, I’ll naturally believe you.” Jiang Luoshen was not someone ordinary either. Though she felt absolutely apprehensive, she still put up a calm front, staring impassively right into Gu Changge’s eyes as she chose to avoid fighting him without hesitation.
Of course, everyone, too, thought it was a wise decision.
She first painted herself as a victim, then let everyone know Gu Changge planned to kill her. That way, she could very naturally and justifiably avoid the fight and also not have to worry about disgracing herself.

The young woman knew at once that Gu Changge made nothing of the matter.
Then again, she was the reason the whole incident happened, and Gu Changge had done so entirely to stand up for her. So, she wondered if she should thank him as much as she didn’t want to. [No no no. That’s the least he should do when he loves to bully me so much! That’s right!]
“Can you stop causing trouble from now on? I always have to clean up after you in the end.” Gu Changge’s helpless voice sounded, interrupting Gu Xianer’s thoughts, stumping her a little.
Surprised that Gu Changge would reproach her instead, she retorted with animosity, “You think it’s my fault?! I had just picked up some cracked stone with engravings on it, and that guy came out of nowhere, accusing me of stealing his thing! He even made me give it to him, or he’d kill me. Do you expect me to actually give it to him?!”
She replied with grievance welled up within her. [I mean… I just picked up a cracked stone, you know? And it just happened to drop next to me! To think I’d even get myself in trouble like that!]
“Really?” Gu Changge quirked a brow, seemingly not believing her words. “Why do I think you’re mocking my intelligence? As if a mere stone engraving can cause such a big ruckus.”
“And what would I get from lying to you?” Gu Xianer glared at him with displeasure. “Do you think everyone’s a liar like you?!”
“Really?” Gu Changge was still doubtful. “But it’s just some cracked stone engraving, right? Can it be that it has some special properties?”
“Well…” At that, Gu Xianer pulled out the faintly glowing, cracked, light purple stone engraving with unrecognisable divine scripts from her storage ring.
“Here, this is it,” she said.
Gu Changge took it from her and took a careless glance at it before nodding. “Hmm, it does have some special properties. No wonder it can cause a tragedy.”
With that, the stone engraving disappeared from his hand.
Gu Xianer’s eyes widened with incredulity at that, dumbstruck for a moment. It only came to her what had just happened after she drifted her gaze to him. [You! You are going to snatch my treasure just like that!?]
