Chapter 6056, Drinks After A Long Time
by SilavinAuthor: Silavin
Mo Na Ye, never expecting to see Yang Kai here. His eyes widened in disbelief as he needed a moment to calm himself. Still, seeing that typical grin of his made him relive those past headaches.
He could not help but ask back, “What are you doing here?”
Yang Kai grinned with pride, “As a Father, I have to fulfill what my Daughter requests of me.”
“In this regard, I really have to thank you for taking such good care of them. I didn’t expect you to be such a good caretaker.” Yang Kai chuckled after seeing this new side of Mo Na Ye.
Mo Na Ye shrugged, “They are just a couple of kids. They were quite well behaved, which makes taking care of them much easier. Though, I doubt you have much to do with that.”
Yang Kai scoffs but chose not respond to the jab for some reason, [They are my children. Who do you think they take after? Of course they are well-behaved because of me.]
Yang Kai just took out a Space Ring, the one Yang Xu gave him, and passed it over the Mo Na Ye, “I’m here because my Daughter wanted you to have this.”
Mo Na Ye’s eyebrows were raised as he accepted the ring. Since it was said to be a gift from the girl, he saw no reason to be on guard and checked its contents. There, he found a few sets of Ninth-Order Materials and even a written message.
The message was carved on a jade plaque, seemingly hastily made using her Divine Sense.
When Mo Na Ye read it, his face turned a little red, as he gave a thunderous laugh, which boomed through the whole room.
‘Dear Uncle Mo Na Ye,
Thank you for helping me and my Brother. I wish you have a happy marriage and bear plenty of children!’
Yang Kai even gave a teasing smile and gave his early congratulations, “Congratulations. A child will be born soon. So, who is the lucky woman?”
Mo Na Ye took a while before he could regain his cool as he answered. “No one you have met before.”
Yang Kai gave look, as though waiting for the ‘groom’ to introduce him to her. However, Mo Na Ye, seeming to want to keep his private life distant from his past dealings, chose to forgo the introductions. He simply wished for his private life to be left out of all these dealings.
Yang Kai, seeming to have realised Mo Na Ye’s intentions, just changed the subject, “Anyways, since my Daughter has given you a gift, as her Father, I can’t really do nothing, can I?”
Yang Kai summoned out a dozen Soul Rending Thorns from his Knowledge Sea. These were Artifacts crafted by Grandmaster Ma Fan using a piece of his Soul, which was now in the World Creation Realm. Though disposable, each one could easily eliminate a Royal Lord. Yang Kai was only able to create them thanks to his Soul Warming Lotus, which would passively help his Soul recover with time.
In the past, Yang Kai had been the only one who could use them, since they had to be used in tandem with a Secret Technique. However, with some progress in both his and Grandmaster Ma Fan’s mastery over the Dao of Artifacts, these Artifacts have been made more versatile. In the future, he plans to make sure all his children have a set of a thousand. However, for now, he was still gradually crafting more.
Seeing these dozen Soul Rending Thorns appear caused Mo Na Ye to feel his Soul tremble. This was despite them not even being aimed directly at him. Mo Na Ye could tell that each one of these were a priceless treasure, items which could overturn the whole tide of battle in a single instant.
He could not help but feel nervous accepting them. However, Yang Kai spoke up as if to ease his tension. “If you feel that it is hard to accept, I am open to trade them for information.”
Once he heard that, Mo Na Ye immediately recalled certain scenes in the past flash, and felt regretful in needing to ever make a deal with Yang Kai. Still, he calmed himself. After all, their position now was different and Yang Kai was no longer their enemy. So, whatever deal he proposed would not be too lopsided. In fact, if Yang Kai had wished for it, with his current cultivation, he could have easily eliminated the whole Black Ink Clan.
Looking from another perspective, Mo Na Ye realised that Yang Kai was genuinely trying to help him, and was offering a deal to ensure Mo Na Ye could keep his pride.
[If things are like this, I can’t really refuse, can I?] Mo Na Ye gave a nod and stuck out his hand, “Sure.”
Yang Kai gladly passed the Artifacts to him. He soon took out a jug and he pointed out, “Would you like to talk here, or, talk outside?”
Once Mo Na Ye saw the jug, he could not help but break out into a smile, reminiscing the past. “Let’s head out. I know a spot.”
***
Yang Kai and Mo Na Ye exited through a Void Crack, traversing what took Yang Xu and Yang Ji over a day to cover, to a familiar spot. It was on the peak, where Mo’s hut was. Over here, they would be able to see the familiar housings for most of the residents.
“Here?” Yang Kai questioned, and Mo Na Ye affirmed.
“There is no place better for a drink.”
Yang Kai agrees with him and takes out a set of table and chairs from his Space Ring, along with multiple jugs full of alcohol. He popped open a jug and push it to Mo Na Ye.
Mo Na Ye caught it in mid-air and gulped a mouth-full before commenting. “It has been such a long time.”
Yang Kai popped open another jug and took a mouth full as well, before commenting, “Yeah, the last time we shared a drink was back at No-Return Pass. Thousands of years have passed since then…”
“Yeah…” When looking back on the past, Mo Na Ye could not help but feel mournful at the losses. In the past, he would have never felt this way, since to him, lives at that point in time were valueless. As long as those could help him serve his objectives, sacrifices meant nothing.
However, now, the whole Black Ink Clan has changed. Lives were more precious than ever. Even Mo Na Ye, was seeking to protect those weaker than him, and even wishing to have his own ‘children’ if possible.
In this regard, he had to admit, Yang Xu was certainly sharper than her Brother. Though he wanted to keep the children away from his private affairs, the girl was sharp enough to see through him and provide enough materials for him and his Wife to produce offsprings.
“So, how did someone who was dead come back alive?” Yang Kai once again asked this question, which he was bewildered by. He could have sworn he had killed Mo Na Ye with his own two hands that day.
“I am the Mo Na Ye that you know, at the same time, I am also not him.” Mo Na Ye seemed a little melancholic as he said that, thanking another gulp before continuing. “I have no memories of my death. My last memory stopped at our final battle, when I last sent out a message to the others, before No-Return Pass fell. I do not remember how my life had ended, but I already had a good guess that I had died in your hands.”
“But make no mistake, I do not resent you for my death. Nor do I hold any hatred for the Humans now. In fact, when I look back on our battles, I have to thank you. You were my perfect rival. You bested me when I was at my very best. There was nothing more that I, as a warrior, could ask for.” Mo Na Ye said in a somber voice, before continuing, “I do not know how I return back alive. It could be that my memories were retained with the Holy One, allowing him to bring me back. Yet, I too question if I am the same person you clashed with in the past.”
Yang Kai’s eyes widened. This was both an amazing discovery, and also a tragic one. Amazing that their kind might have the chance at resurrection. Tragic because this meant that the target of hatred for the 3,000 Worlds would never cease unless Mo, now Little Eleven, ceased existing.
The blood spilled during that era was far too much for some to overcome. That was why Little Eleven had been kept safe within High Heaven Palace, with his existence hidden from the world.
Thankfully, there were only a few who knew about the situation here, and Yang Kai was confident he could help keep this a secret. What more, the Profound Source Gate was far beyond reach of others, which helped separate the 3,000 Worlds from their old nemesis.
“You’ve changed. You were never someone to speak of sentiments.” Yang Kai said with curiosity.
“It is not just me. The whole Black Ink Clan has changed. Everyone here desires peace now. We also no longer have any wish to return back to the 3,000 Worlds.” Mo Ne Ye added.
“What changed? The environment?” Yang Kai asked, though, he had his own guesses.
“We change with the Holy One. His emotions have settled, so we have settled. But, if you want to ask me why that is the case, you best ask the Holy One himself.” Mo Na Ye also wondered about this point. However, he instinctively did not ask Mo. He felt like he would not get the answer even if he had asked, so he refrained from doing so.
At the same time, Yang Kai just gave a nod, as if he had already expected the answer. If anything, Mo Na Ye did not seem to know much, only accepting the current situation like it was natural. Still, from Yang Kai’s point of view, this peaceful Black Ink Clan was far better than the one the 3,000 Worlds had to deal with.
Since Yang Kai now knew that most of his questions would only be responded with vague answers, he just took his time to leisurely drink with this old rival of his.
Both men laughed and joked as they reminisced about the past. Bickering and forfeit drinks were plentiful, as they drank ‘way into the night’. Though, in this world, where there was no night and day. So, they only stopped when Mo Na Ye drank, for the first time in a while, till he dropped.
Yang Kai, feeling satisfied, left Mo Na Ye on the table, with a Space Ring filled with alcohol.
However, before Yang Kai left, he sent a message to Little Eleven using his Divine Sense. He soon ripped open a Void Crack and disappeared…
