Chapter 6084, Yang Ji’s Gift

That ‘wow’ rumbled like thunder in Lei Ao’s ears. His heart started to fall and his face turned pallid.
*Bang!*
However, such a scene was quickly hidden by Yang Ji, who quickly closed the door as he turned towards Yang Xu, who had her hands in front of her mouth, shocked by what she had just done.
“Sister, that was too much…” Yang Ji said, seemingly finding it hard to explain.
“Sorry…” Yang Xu could not say much else. She understood that her small exclamation had ruined the pride of a ‘man’. This was something Mother Yu Ru Meng had taught her before, which was that men were prideful creatures. Her Father was no different, and her Brothers were no different.
Yang Ji paced around outside, trying to think. Then, he settled on it. “Sister, how about you go out for a moment. Leave Lei Ao to me. I can handle this task. I think meeting a girl at this time would be quite difficult for him.”
Yang Xu thought for a moment. [It will be hard for me to see him right now. Anyways, Brother will be alone with a guy, so that’s fine…]
“Okay, then, I’ll leave it to you.” With that thought, Yang Xu agreed and she passed the scroll over to him. She even went as far as to disappear from his sight, though Yang Ji could still easily sense her presence nearby.
*Haa…* Since this hot potato had been accepted by him, Yang Ji let out a sigh and reopened the door. The moment he did, Lei Ao was sitting up on his bed, all proper, as though nothing had happened.
Yang Ji had controlled his facial expression, but his lips could not help but twitch. Still, he celebrated inside. [Are you seriously going to act like nothing happened? Good, that makes things less awkward for me.]
“Teacher Li Wu Yi has asked me to assist you in catching up in class. He even prepared a scroll containing the lessons we would cover during the few days you are not in class.” Since this was how Lei Ao wanted to play it, Yang Ji would just get straight to the point.
However, Lei Ao just scoffed, “You? Teach me? *Ha!*”
Yang Ji’s eyes narrowed. “Oh? For someone who cannot even manage to bear with our bath water, you sure talk big.”
“Th-that’s because your cultivation realm is much higher than mine! That has nothing to do with my mastery over the Dao of Space!” Lei Ao rebutted.
“You are only in the Transcendent Realm. How much of the Dao of Space could you possibly master? What’s more, you are even going through two Daos at the same time.” Yang Ji said as matter-of-factly. However, this revelation struck Lei Ao like thunder. He could not help but tremble.
“W-wait! How do you know!? Your Father might by the Principal, but that doesn’t give you the right to see our private information!” Lei Ao said but was quickly countered.
“What? Why would my Father need to show me anything? I can feel the fluctuations of Space Principles and Time Principles on you. It’s not really a secret or anything. You don’t even seem intent on hiding it. What’s more, your cultivation realm is even lower than my Little Brother’s. Of course I can easily see through you.” Yang Ji said in a calm manner. However, if one were to listen from a third-party, one might think he was showing off–though he had no intention to.
“Wait! Then… then just what cultivation realm have you reached?” Lei Ao’s eyes were wide, and his heart was palpitating.
“I’m in the–” Yang Ji was about to readily say everything. However, a voice immediately came to his mind, warning him.
“Cease this! Should you unveil the truth in his current state, you shall irreparably damage this child’s cultivation. His Dao Heart wavers even now. Say more and it would shatter completely.” The Heavenly Demon Queen explained.
“Wait, are you serious?” Yang Ji used his Divine Sense to ask. However, no reply came back.
[Are Dao Hearts really so fragile?] Yang Ji wondered. However, he truly did not know the answer to this question.
Seeing how he should avoid answering, Yang Ji just said, “I’m obviously in a higher realm than you. But, if you want to find out, uncover it once you get stronger than me.”
Lei Ao’s eyes narrowed. This was a challenge he could not possibly refuse. “Fine! I will get stronger than you! Much stronger! Just you wait and see! I, Lei Ao, the Young Master of Red Clouds Cave Heaven, swear that I will defeat you!”
Those words about defeat passed through Yang Ji’s ears like white noise. Yang Hao had said the same thing numerous times in the past. However, after more than seven years, nothing much has changed. However, something did stand out that caught Yang Ji’s attention.
[Oh? He’s from a Cave Heaven?] Yang Ji’s eyes widened a little. Though he had met a few children from the 36 Cave Heavens and 72 Paradises, he had not met everyone. When he tried to recall if he had met anyone from the Red Clouds Cave Heaven, nothing came to mind.
Still from what he knew, Red Clouds Cave Heaven was a Sect that focuses on gathering rare materials and was well known for their Auctions. He was not certain about the inner workings of the Sect, but he was well aware that those from a Cave Heaven or Paradise could not be underestimated.
So far, though those children he had met could never beat he nor Yang Xu, they could give his Little Brothers and Sisters a run for their money.
[Oh, no wonder why he’s here. High Heaven Palace is well known for its experts that study the Dao of Space and Dao of Time. Other Sects would at most be proficient in one of these so-called ‘abstruse’ Daos, but High Heaven Palace is good at both. At the same time, if its Red Clouds Cave Heaven, having their Young Master come here to gain more connections would also be beneficial to the Sect…] Yang Ji realised this and gave a nod. [Wait… rare materials, Auctions! Oh!!!]
Soon, Yang Ji’s eyes turn sharp. It was as though he was a tiger looking upon a fawn. [My good ‘friend’. I’m sure you know a lot of interesting places.]
Under such an intense glare, Lei Ao could not help but shudder, [Wait. Is he getting angry because I said I would defeat him?]
However, with such thoughts, a more competitive spirit was aroused from him. Instead of shrinking back, he forcibly met it.
Seeing how Lei Ao was also ‘interested’, Yang Ji gave a nod. [Mothers did say that I have to be nice to make friends. Let me give him a gift then.]
Yang Ji then thought for a moment, and then came up with something. [Yeah! Father gave that to me and Yang Xu as a gift. He will definitely be grateful if I give him this!]
“Since this is our first official proper meeting, then let me give this to you as a gift.” Yang Ji gave a smile that looked so innocent that it would certainly make his Sister’s heart skip a beat.
However, this smile would soon be eternally remembered by Lei Ao… A smile that seemed to be that of the Devil itself.
Yang Ji closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. Then, his eyes flashed opened. Before Lei Ao could even react, Yang Ji stabbed his index finger to Lei Ao’s forehead.
At that moment, Lei Ao thought that he was about to die. The aura concentrated into Yang Ji’s finger was just that potent. It was to an unfathomable degree and it was coming at him so quickly that he did not even have time to blink.
Once his forehead made contact, Lei Ao could feel his entire body freeze. Then, he could feel his Soul unable to move. It felt like his whole being was being sucked into quicksand, unable to break free. He tried to struggle but it was all futile. The darkness below him was slowly creeping up, devouring his Soul.
At the final moment, before the whole world faded to black, he could see that smile. The smile he would never forget.
…
Yang Ji exhaled as a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. He had just used a lot of Spiritual Energy and Qi to impart his ‘gift’ onto Lei Ao. He had even tapped into Yang Xu’s reserves. So, it could be said that he was utterly spent imparting this ‘gift’ onto Lei Ao.
As for what this ‘gift’ was, it was his experience exploring Space Principles and Time Principles. He had imparted a ‘small’ bit of his memorable experience and was making Lei Ao go through it.
However, it could be said that Yang Ji was being ‘very considerate’. He had not tossed Lei Ao’s body into such a Space and had only made his Soul go through the experience.
To Yang Ji, this was akin to the gift his Father had given him, the Array Plate he and Yang Xu could enter to train. The same one that had managed to trap Fang Tian Ci for a short amount of time.
This would kill two birds with one stone. He could impart his knowledge of the Dao of Space to Lei Ao, and also give him a great gift at the same time! Yang Ji was certain that this was the start of a wondrous friendship!
However, Yang Ji had truly overestimated this ‘good friend’ of his. If he had only imparted just knowledge of the Dao of Space, that would still be fine. After all, Lei Ao would most likely be able to free himself after a few years in that mentalscape. Once he broke free, if their current class was about beginner knowledge, then he would already master intermediate and advanced knowledge of the Dao of Space.
However, Yang Ji had added the Dao of Time into the mix. This… complicated matters to a severe degree. After all, the Dao of Time was even more abstruse than the Dao of Space. Mixing them together made it even harder to tell these two apart.
Though such a matter was easy for Yang Ji and Yang Xu, this was not the case of others.
To break free, one had to master the Dao of Space and the Dao of Time to a certain degree. Could Lei Ao truly do it? If not, would he be eternally trapped here?
Yang Ji had never asked those questions. To him, was it not easy to escape from this space? So, he naturally had not even borne a hint of worry about these matters. In fact, he was currently regretting how small of a gift he could only give.
[If only I comprehended more… If I did, my gift would have been much better…] Yang Ji sighed a little. He felt that this paled greatly in comparison to what his Father had given him before. Those training grounds or tools his Father had given him were so much better, much more challenging. Compared to them, Yang Ji felt that this ‘small gift’ was truly lacklustre…
After all, if Yang Ji had given this to Yang Xu, she would immediately be able to resolve it.
Yang Ji thought to wait for Lei Ao to wake up. However, Yang Xu suddenly contacted him so he could only leave as well.
Naturally, before he left, he wished Lei Ao the best, “Best of luck. Let’s go on an adventure some day.”
However, even though only a few seconds had just passed, Lei Ao had already experienced several years… Yet, the only thing that he could remember before being sent to this accursed space, of boundless darkness and unending time, was that innocent smile…
…
At that moment, Yang Kai sneezed. He, an expert in the World Creation Realm, had sneezed. This was a horrendous premonition.
