“Wait, you have a Sect? Then, did you come to my Hong Clan to act as a spy?” Hong Lan Tian raised her guard again, far more wary this time. [In that case, this means that he took my Divine Soul Brand to make me act as a spy for him!]

“If I’m a spy, then your whole Family is made up of spies. Why would I put myself in a situation where I would have my life tied to yours if I’m a spy? I would rather be tied to someone of a higher position, not you.” Yang Ji quickly shot back. “Besides, I doubt that I would need anything from your Hong Clan other than access to the Pool of Revitalisation.”

“My honourable Hong Clan is one of the top Forces in the Inner Heaven. Countess prostrate themselves in front of our front-gate just hoping to be hired as servants. My Clan has experts that can easily turn you to dust with just their gaze, so you best not underestimate us.” Hong Lan Tian said, both as a warning and highlighting how Yang Ji was lying.

“If your Clan is so great, then why are they at each other’s throats? Seems like your own Uncle is after your life.” Yang Ji shot back.

“*Hmph!* Every large Clan has their own problems. Naturally, mine is no different. This just shows how large and great my Clan is.” Hong Lan Tian rebuked.

“Yeah, right, ‘great’. A massive Clan like yours and they could not even properly take care of their own Mortal Young Mistress. Though I did not try peeking into your memories, I at least know a bit of what you’ve experienced. Though loved by your Parents, you’ve basically been treated like a disgrace by the rest of your Clan. If we were back at my place, you would not be treated much differently. We take care of Mortals just as much as those that can cultivate.” Yang Ji added, remembering his time in High Heaven Academy. Though he did not interact with the Mortal students, the academy itself was made such that all would have a fair opportunity to learn and improve their station in life.

From Yang Ji’s point of view, maybe influenced by his own Parent’s thinking, this was how the world should be like.

However, Hong Lan Tian herself rejected this view, “I was born weak, with limited potential. Even if it were me in my Father’s shoe, I would have done the same. This world is such that the bigger fist makes the rule. It is only natural that most resources will be passed onto those with the potential to make full use of them. I’m already fortunate enough to be able to have a chance to enter the Pool of Revitalisation, enabling me to start cultivating even with my disability.”

Yang Ji felt like whatever he says will most likely go in one ear and exit another. Any point he brought up would be refuted, and their view points were vastly different from one another.

At this point, Wu Lun finally gave a sigh and told Yang Ji something, which made him gave a nod and address Hong Lan Tian.

“If you still believe I’m a spy, then so be it. Doesn’t matter to me. But, you should stay in the Pool of Revitalisation for as long as you can. Your Father has most likely sent in reinforcements, but they would need time to get here. Staying here until you reach the Separation And Reunion Realm should do it.”

Hong Lan Tian frowned and thought, [But, I’ve only just broken through to the Initial Element Realm. How long would it take me to reach the Separation And Reunion Realm? The World Energy back home is much denser than in here…]

As though reading her thoughts, Yang Ji added, “It should take you about two months or so. You have your Clan’s unique Cultivation Technique, right? With that, just two months of solid cultivation should be enough. That’s more than enough time for your reinforcements to get here. Leaving early would only put yourself at more risk, and that would put Hong Jun and Xing Ting at risk too.”

“Then, what would you do in that time?” Hong Lan Tian asked with her delicate face frowning in suspicion.

“I’ll be leaving. If you remain inside, Hong Jun will be safe to move. That means, he can technically work to protect me while I flee from this place. We can’t possibly leave at the same time, after all.”

“I believe their original plan was to have me stay in here long enough as a distraction for your Uncle. That way, once you leave, you can be moved to a safe location while their eyes are on me. It’s not a bad plan, the issue is that Hong Jun would need to follow you, and that alone raises suspicion. And if you get found out before reinforcements come, even if Hong Jun can hold them off for a period, it is doubtful he will be able to last that long.”

“But if you get killed, I’d die along with you, since you now hold my Divine Soul Brand.” Hong Lan Tian added, and was quickly refuted by Yang Ji. “All the more reason for Hong Jun to protect me. After all, we are now both actually on the same boat. I can’t have your dying on me, and you can’t have me dying on you. Fair, right?” Yang Ji smiled and looked up. It was time to go.

He had already explained the plan and the theories Wu Lun had given him. Honestly, it was not foolproof. In fact, there was a major flaw in this plan. After all, if they went with the original plan, Yang Ji would only need to contend with Xing Ting and those that would chase after him when trying to make his escape. However, now, he would have to deal with Hong Jun as well.

The thing he must not do was expose his ownership of Hong Lan Tian’s Divine Soul Brand. Once that was exposed, it would be hard for Yang Ji to escape from their grasp.

Having Hong Lan Tian away from Hong Jun was another means to delay this news from reaching the other party’s ear.

Yang Ji swam all the way up to the surface. However, due to the large amount that he had consumed, the pool water no longer touched on the edge of the supposed pool. Yang Ji even needed to swim to the edge and climb up a somewhat tall cliff.

Still, with his Physique, such tasks were easy. With one strong pull and kick, he shot himself up to the edge of the pool.

Any remaining liquid on him from the pool quickly evaporated off of him, not even needing him to do anything.

Yang Ji even wore back the same clothes he had on, using his Divine Sense to mimic the movements of Xing Ting when she first helped him put it on. It was not perfect by any means, but it at least did not draw criticism from Wu Lun.

However, he soon discovered a problem. “Wu Lun, if I leave like this, wouldn’t they get suspicious? After all, I still technically don’t have any Yuan Qi in my body. But, I can just take in a little and pose…”

“Stop. You’re worrying about that a little too late. If you start cultivating, it will only cause more issues in the next place I want you to head to. So, don’t bother. In fact, it is not necessarily a bad thing for you to not have your cultivation once you leave.” Wu Lun sighed, “Regardless of what happens from here, you must make sure you do not take in even the tiniest drop of World Energy. Agree to this and I will make sure that silly girl survives this upcoming turmoil in her Clan.”

“Sure. But, you should already know that I would do as you ask, even without that threat. With her life now tied to mine, you are bound to help her either way.” Yang Ji seemed irked by this response from Wu Lun.

“Says the fool who actually placed his life in another’s hand when I clearly would never agree to you doing such a thing.” Wu Lun shot back. “But, what’s done is done. I feel like I would die of rage if we keep talking about this so let’s just focus on the task at hand.”

“Of course. Let’s go.” Yang Ji said as he took a deep breath and stood in front of the entrance.
