“What–” Yang Ji wanted to ask but he felt his lips becoming heavy, as though force was being applied to seal them.

Liu Sang Hu just smirked at the youth and he turned around. By the next moment Yang Ji blinked, he was already gone like a ghost.

Now that the child and his escorts were on the ship, his duty had basically ended. So, Liu Sang Hu took it as the opening to leave.

Exactly, escorts, as the moment Liu Sang Hu disappeared, miraculously, Hong Jun could be seen boarding the ship as well. He was slightly dirtied from the battle but there were no major injuries, at least from what Yang Ji could tell. The two girls that he was supposed to be escorting were also gone by this point.

Yang Ji could think of the worst in terms of their fate, so he did hope that Liu Sang Hu’s prediction was not off.

However, unlike Yang Ji, who first noticed the missing girls, Xing Ting noticed Hong Jun’s dark expression. This indicated to her that there was something wrong.

“Sir… is something wrong?” She could not help but question through her Divine Sense out of habit.

Hong Jun’s eyes narrowed as he looked around him in silence before speaking. “The whole chase… it was nothing but a farce!”

“Huh?” Xing Ting was taken aback. Those explosions, those tremblings. How could they possibly be fake? Even if Xing Ting had not been at the scene, she could feel Hong Jun’s aura in those blows. If anything, he had actually attacked. So, how could it be a farce?

“The city guards, they all merely pretended to oppose me. None of them actually came at me seriously. Likewise, even the Hong Clan spies did little else but slow me down. No one my equal showed up, as though they were merely waiting for the show to start somewhere else…” Hong Jun could be seen clenching his fist tight to the point veins could be seen.

“Sir… you mean to say…” Xing Ting felt like this was too much to take in all at once.

Hong Jun, knowing that the girl was still a novice in such matters, explained, “The city must have struck some kind of deal with those traitors. Since those traitors did not move despite such a massive commotion, it is likely that they will only act once we are outside the city. Especially Hong Huo Liang. Knowing him, he would have taken action the first moment we got exposed.”

“Wait… then, shouldn’t we actually stay in the city then?” Xing Ting frowned and proposed they just leave the ship and continue hiding in the city. However, Hong Jun shook his head.

“Fool. Why such a huge commotion, the city guards have all the reason they need to detain me. They merely haven’t acted on it since the one actually going to catch us is the Hong Clan. We’ve got out of the frying pan but into the fire… damn it! I know that once that old fox came forward, everything would turn out like this.” Hong Jun cursed Liu Sang Hu and all his Descendents. If Liu Sang Hu heard this, he would definitely chuckle and say that he was glad he remained single since he had been cursed so many times by now.

As though his words were a decree from Heaven, the man he had least wanted to meet appeared from inside the ship.

[Ah, that’s her Uncle.] His naturally strong aura projected onto the group and Yang Ji, who remembered that aura, understood as much. [So, that’s why he said those words before he left…]

Before, Yang Ji had been pretending to sleep, so he did not get a good look at the man’s appearance. At the time, he was also wary of spreading out his Divine Sense, afraid he might get caught.

So, this time, he took it as an opportunity to study the man that was coming after his life.

Hong Huo Liang, Hong Lan Tian’s Uncle, did not have rough features. In fact, he looked more similar to Liu Sang Hu, who was like a gentleman. His appearance was quite distant from Hong Jun, who was naturally gruff and well built. The man had flowing hair and a beard with sharp features that highlighted his wisdom. Though, his dark eyes emitted a chilling cold, as though others’ life was but a blade of grass, easy to mow.

He walked with an entourage, all bearing similar clothing. Yet, upon looking at Hong Jun and the rest, he did not address them. Instead, he addressed a man by his side, dressed completely differently to his other entourage.

After he had said his piece, he turned back and ignored the three.

Meanwhile, the man who he just spoke to, ran in a hurry towards the three. Upon reaching three metres from them, he immediately lowered his head and addressed Yang Ji, “Young Mistress, your Uncle would like to have a meal with you. He expressed that he would appreciate some of your time later during the evening.”

Yang Ji pointed to himself and then turned to look at Hong Jun, who gave the man a cold glare. “We are not interested.”

The man gave one bow to Hong Jun and then directly said, “Sir, I do not wish to come off as rude but I was speaking to the Young Mistress. The host did not specify to bring other guests along, nor did he specifically ask for the Young Mistress alone. If you find your presence onboard uncomfortable, it is fine to leave this ship but do note that it will be quite difficult to board another out of the city.”

What the man said was truly the root of the problem. Now, Hong Jun was basically a wanted man by the city. He could not even get onboard any public ships, much less a private one. In fact, when he spread out his Divine Sense out of the ship, he noticed that there was a massive gathering around the ship. It was clearly a threat: if he got off the ship, he would immediately be arrested.

Xing Ting and Yang Ji might still be safe, but for how longer? Without someone like him around, Xing Ting surely could not fend off all their opponents. Furthermore, since there were those two girls that mysteriously disappeared midway as he was rampaging around, they could be arrested as suspects.

In short, it was already checkmate for him. Even using all his might, he still could not confidently say that he would be able to take down Hong Huo Liang. Thus, they were trapped.

While Hong Jun was in deep thought, to his surprise, Yang Ji suddenly seemed to gain the courage to answer. For some reason, the voice had suddenly sounded exactly like the Young Mistress, “We will head over in the evening. Go back and tell him that.”

Xing Ting, who was less skilled, had astonishment written all over her face, while Hong Jun managed to suppress his fluctuating emotions.

This voice was exactly like their Young Mistress. Yang Ji had never once shown the ability to mimic her voice, yet now, he was capable of doing it. Furthermore, when had he heard her voice before? One could not possibly mimic when they had never heard a sample before, right?

There were so many questions they wanted to ask, yet Yang Ji seemed completely oblivious to this. The boy just watched the man run off as he praised Wu Lun, “Wow. It really worked. I sounded exactly like her.”

“What do you expect? Sound is merely the product of vibrations in the air. With your bodily control, Divine Sense and perfect memory, basically anyone can basically mimic a person’s voice. Honestly, I thought you and your Sister would know this trick by now.” Wu Lun said off-handedly. “But, do know that this will just raise their doubts about your identity. Though, frankly speaking, I bet Hong Jun is already very unnerved by how you’ve been acting so far.”

“Huh? What did I do?” Yang Ji questioned.

“Let’s see… You’ve managed to pick out the exact Pill that is useful to him, unique Artifacts that perfectly suited their use and then there was the meeting with that old man. All those things are quite suspicious if I were in his shoes.” Wu Lun spoke as if this was none of this problem.

“But… But I just did as you told me to. You got a solution for this, right?” Yang Ji asked.

“Why do we need to solve it? In the first place, he can’t touch you. We’re going to be leaving them behind anyway.” Wu Lun stressed the last part.

“Huh? We are going to be leaving them behind? But, aren’t we in the hands of their enemy?” Yang Ji could not help but cry out, with his facial expression actually changing.

“Fool. They are all from the Hong Clan but Hong Huo Liang’s target right now is you. Hong Jun can hold his own, and you need not worry too much about Xing Ting. The only reason why Hong Huo Liang hasn’t acted is because he has made a deal with the city. You’ll be safe until you get far away enough from the city. At that point, you’ll need to escape this ship alone.”
