“This boy is proficient in the Dao of Space!” Luo Hai muttered in shock.

Another tag game with origin king
Just a thousand kilometers away while chatting he reaches out his hand to grab YK? Most countries are smaller than that. It takes sound waves about one hour to travel that distance. Another hour to reply. On a very clear day you can see mountain tops 100 km away. To see and reach out to a person 1000 km away is a bit hard to understand.

There is a tendency to use this kind of long literal distance as a exageration of a long distance ingeneral, if I’m not mistaken in chinese the way of saying something is “a lot” is saying its a 1000 or 10000 of it, but it gets lost in translation.
In the same way that they say “star” but its just the word for a “celestial body” in the same way a planet or a moon is a celestial body, not a star. The novel even describes that “these stars rotate around sun stars and moon stars rotate around them” at some point.
To sumarise, you can consider it as being something lost in translation that doesnt make much sense when in english.
In the Tao te Ching for example there is the phrase “The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth, the named is the mother of ten thousand things”, but these 10.000 things refers to “everything” not the number 10.000
In this case, the distances are not an exaggeration and are accurate. These people are rapidly moving in space from Cultivation Stars thousands to tens of thousands of times bigger than earth and holding trillions(not billions) of lives. Trying to apply real world logic to distance where clearly real world rules do not apply at all to virtually everything else is extremely silly tbh.
Hmmmm it is definitely risk to stay in the bead until Luo Hai leaves but I think it’s his best choice as it will take a while for Yang Kai to recover anyway. I say he risks it.

I still think it’s BS YK can only travel 2-3 thousand km by tearing space. Back in the floating continent (25-30 years ago) he went from several hundred to one thousand km.

Since Luo Hai has his Divine Sense constantly locked on him, Yang Kai should release a few soul Devouring insects. They’d follow Lou Hai’s Divine Sense and infest his knowledge sea.
This wouldn’t stop Lou Hai but having to fight them off while also using his Divine Sense to track Yang Kai would deplete Lou Hai’s spiritual energy faster and slow him down a bit.
