Combining its twin purple and green swords, they impressively blossomed with dazzling brilliance, momentarily scattering all of the surrounding Demon Qi before congealing a gigantic Sword Qi and sending it chopping down.

Jiang Chu He’s figure immediately appeared. However, at this moment, there seemed to be a flustered look appearing on his malevolent-looking face. As he struggled with all his might, the Demon Crests that covered his skin started to move and sparkle, and all of his veins bulged and swelled, creating an extremely shocking sight.
Nevertheless, he couldn’t escape from the bindings created by Space Principles. In the end, he was merely a demonized Third-Order Origin King cultivator, and thus was utterly incapable of breaking free of the constraints created by the strength of the World Principles!
“Slash!” Lifting the long sword in his hand, Yang Kai proceeded to slash down fiercely.
A will to survive burst forth from Jiang Chu He’s jet-black eyes. Mustering energy from an unknown source, he actually managed to forcefully shift his head slightly to the side.

As though he was being crushed, cracking sounds rang out from the bones across his entire body, while blood flowed out from his nose and ears. Nevertheless, he still continued to struggle and did not show even the slightest hint of wanting to beg for mercy. In fact, he did not even attempt to flee! Instead, he continued to roar at Yang Kai like a frenzied wild beast.
Forming seals with his hands, Yang Kai’s hands turned illusionary, before he smashed them towards Jiang Chu He.

Extending his hand, Yang Kai grabbed and hoisted him up.

Receiving his command, the Queen Monster Insect transformed into a beam light, shooting towards Yang Kai, who immediately sent it into his Sealed World Bead.

Indeed, there was someone not far outside of the city that was calling for help. From the shouts, it appeared to be a man, and one that wasn’t young!
Conflicted emotions flashed across Qin Zhao Yang’s face, before he quickly said, “Don’t worry about it, Little Brother. Regardless of who he is, he might already be in a disastrous state. You should hurry back as quickly as possible.”
Yang Kai nodded in agreement.
The dangers of the Demon Qi had far exceeded his expectations. If there really was someone who had recklessly rushed out into it, it wouldn’t take long before that person’s consciousness would be devoured and turned into a demon.
Even with his current level of strength, he did not dare to stay too long within the Demon Qi.
“Sir, please wait! Sir, help!”
All of a sudden, that strange call for help rang out once again from behind him. Furthermore, from the location the sound was coming from, it seemed to be nearer than the last cry for help.
This instantly piqued Yang Kai’s curiosity, as he did not know exactly what kind of person could actually protect their body within that surging Demon Qi and the countless demonic creatures within the Demon Qi. I know I am reading this she’s last it’s release, and let me thank the translation team for a great novel. But to the comment. Am I the only one going crazy at this point thinking he should release is embodiment.

Over many, many chapters, people have been asking, speculating, and sometimes complaining about certain recurring issues in the story. A lot of these questions tie directly to what’s happening right now, so I want to take a moment to clarify a few things that may have been missed, and that might be the root of that confusion.
First, let’s talk about Qi and True Qi, and how they are cultivated. To explain this properly, I’ll need to compare Yang Kai to normal cultivators.
Normal cultivators store their energy in their meridians and dantian. Before reaching True Qi, that energy is like a vapor or cloud. Once they reach True Qi, it becomes denser, more like a liquid.
Yang Kai is different.
His cultivation art allows him to compress all that energy into a single droplet. Even before True Qi, his energy was already like liquid drops. After reaching True Qi, it is said that those droplets became even denser, which we can think of as a gel.
Why is that important?
Because density determines how much you can pack into the same volume. Every time Yang Kai fills his meridians and dantian, he can compress all of that into one drop. Each drop is essentially equivalent to his full energy capacity. No one else can do that.
Now, the limitation of his cultivation art is that it only absorbs Yang-attributed energy. Yang energy is found in many sources such as fire, heat, sunlight, and others. The stronger the source, the more energy he can absorb and the faster he can cultivate. The more Yang energy he gathers, the more he can convert into Yang Qi.
The problem with this system is that it would not normally allow him to absorb non-Yang energy, meaning Yin energy and what is referred to as pure or neutral essence, which is an in-between form of energy.
This is where his golden skeleton comes in.
His golden skeleton allows him to absorb non-Yang energy. That energy does not go into his dantian. Instead, it is stored in the golden skeleton, where all of it, including neutral energy, is transformed into demonic Yin Qi.
So at this point, he has:
– Pure Yang Qi
– Pure demonic Yin Qi
– And two storage systems that are effectively larger than those of normal cultivators
Those being:
– His dantian and meridian system, where everything is compressed into droplets
– His golden skeleton, which stores and transforms energy separately
This is why it has always been emphasized that he has a massive amount of energy compared to other cultivators.
Then comes the major shift.
After leaving Tong Xuan Realm and entering the Heng Luo Star Field, he learns how to fuse these two energies. This fusion creates the Demonic Flames, an energy that can shift between Yin and Yang, between extreme cold and extreme heat.
This is essentially a Yin-Yang system:
– Yin contains Yang
– Yang contains Yin
– Each reinforces the other
Now here’s an important point that is not explicitly stated, but logically follows.
If he previously had two storage systems, one in the dantian and one in the golden skeleton, then after the fusion, the Demonic Flames should logically be stored across both systems as well. Most likely in droplet form within the dantian system, and also within the golden skeleton.
This is never clearly explained in the story, but it is the only interpretation that preserves the idea that he still has vastly more energy than other cultivators.
Now here’s the key point:
After this fusion, he never uses the Demon Transformation again.
Why?
We are not told.
It could be that the author simply forgot about it. Or, my interpretation based on the story is that since his Qi is no longer purely demonic Yin Qi, but instead an amalgamation of Yin and Yang in the form of Demonic Flames, he can no longer use Demon Transformation.
Whether that is correct or not, I don’t know. That’s my speculation. And to be fair, the author has forgotten things before, so it could just be that.

Later, he learns a new body tempering system: the Five Element Indestructible Sword Ki Tempering Body Art. Once it reaches the Greater Accomplishment stage, it allows the user to use Sword Qi of different elements.
At the same time, he uses the Demon Blood Technique with his golden blood. This is particularly effective for him because the technique normally consumes blood essence, which weakens the user. Possible answers:
– In-universe: his Qi is no longer purely demonic, so he cannot use it
– Out-of-universe: the author forgot
There is also the possibility that the current arc is setting up the return of demonic energy, potentially bringing back the crests and re-enabling Demon Transformation.
If that happens, it could be interesting, because from what we’ve seen, the civilization in this arc strongly opposes demons, so he might be hunted if that power resurfaces.

Why did he stop absorbing souls, and why doesn’t he pick up Origin Source Crystals?
The first part is straightforward.
Souls are no longer useful to him at his level. Once a cultivator reaches Third-Order Origin King, their soul transforms into an Origin Source Crystal. So:
– Below that level: souls
– At that level and above: crystals
That means there are no souls left to absorb, only crystals.
Now, the real question is: why isn’t he collecting those crystals?
That makes no sense. There is no clear in-universe explanation for it. Honestly, this is another case where it feels like the author simply forgot.

Finally, there’s the issue of the Demonic Eye of Annihilation becoming weaker.
The key point here is that the Demonic Eye of Annihilation is not originally his. It is the actual eye of the Demon God that he inherited. Because of that, it is not something he can freely cultivate or grow as part of his own system.
The only time we clearly see it enhanced is when it fuses with the seven-colored light from the seven-colored crystal he obtained from the seven-colored sect within Shadowed Star.
Separately, the Seven-Colored Warm Soul Lotus gained its own attack ability after absorbing the Origin Source Crystal of the Insect Emperor, which resulted in the Budding Lotus attack.
So originally, these were two distinct systems:
– The Demonic Eye of Annihilation, enhanced by the seven-colored light
– The Warm Soul Lotus with its Budding Lotus attack
However, later on, it seems that these abilities were blended together in usage. It gives the impression that the author may have forgotten that they were originally separate systems.
Because the Demonic Eye of Annihilation cannot be further cultivated, and there has not been another method introduced to enhance it, and because the Warm Soul Lotus has not yet evolved further into its higher form, it makes sense that this entire system now feels weaker relative to Yang Kai’s current level.
That is likely why his soul attack is less effective.
That said, with the current focus on demonic energy, there is a real possibility that:
– The demonic crests return
– The Demonic Eye of Annihilation gets an upgrade
