“Mr. Clo, are you perhaps—”
After saying all that, Ms. Kriemhild fell silent for a moment, her eyes casting downward as if lost in thought. She quickly recovered, and due to her small stature, naturally looked up at me, her usual cheerful smile returning to her face.
“Are you perhaps into the clothes that contrast with the wearer’s personality?”
Then, that’s the question she asked.
It was obvious she had changed the whatever question she originally intended to ask. Still, if she changed it, she had her reasons, and there was no need for me to pry. I was curious why she changed it, but for now, I just focused on answering the question she asked.
“I guess you could say I like it. You could call it my second nature, but I love seeing people, regardless of their gender, dress up in something that really fits them we.”
I originally got into fashion work back in my past life because I was sewing clothes for my little sister, and a friend convinced me to pursue it. Given that guy was aiming to be a fashion designer himself, he probably just manipulated me for his own benefit, but still.
It was a tough yet enjoyable world, and the happiness of seeing someone wear something I created beautifully was undoubtedly the greatest reward.
However, I had a feeling that what Ms. Kriemhild was talking about was a little different from what I actually felt…
“What made you think that?”
“Well, yesterday you were captivated by Vi after her bath, so it got me wondering if you got excited when you saw her in different clothes than usual.”
She noticed…?!
Wait, no, I don’t think I was that excited. …Or was I? I was definitely mesmerized…
“Besides, I also kind of wondered if Cyan’s outfit earlier was actually your idea. Like, maybe that’s what you’re into, Mr. Clo, and Cyan overheard you reminiscing aloud about seeing Vi in it once on some occasion, excitedly muttering to yourself like, ‘Man, that was amazing…’, and decided to try it out for herself.”
I mean, she’s not wrong! If anything, her accuracy is terrifying!
Still, I wouldn’t go as far to call it excitement… I think.
“Please stop calling it ‘excitement’. I was only captivated and reminded of how much I love her.”
“Oh? Would you not like to see Vi dressed like Cyan? or wearing a witch outfit like Apricot?”
… I do.
“Or maybe a female knight uniform. Or a maid uniform. Oh, or maybe a white one-piece dress, the kind that subtly shows off her silhouette when the light hits just right.”
Gah! How did she manage to pinpoint my exact preferences like that? Am I really that easy to read? No, it looks like she’s listing off generic stuff guys like. If Lady Violet actually wore them, I’d definitely be over the Moon. Besides—
“Does it excite you?”
“Very much so.”
Yeah, okay, it excites me.
Seeing Lady Violet in outfits she’d normally never wear… yeah, it would be a legendary match! Whether she would be blushing in embarrassment or trying to pull it off with a dignified composure, she would look absolutely divine. Lady Violet would look incredible in literally anything she wore.
“It’d be amazing, no doubt about it. The nun’s habit or witch robes, the outfits I’m used to seeing on a daily basis, would instantly become top-tier on Lady Violet… Not that she’d ever actually wear them… I’d love to see it, though.”
“So what you’re saying Mr. Clo, is that even if she’d never normally wear it, seeing her put it on specifically because she wants to make you happy, would make it a hundred times better. Imagine her blushing, saying something like, ‘… I thought you might like this…’”
“Your accuracy is genuinely creeping me out now.”
“Am I wrong?”
“Of course you’re not wrong! It’s exactly what I dream of!”
“Shyness really is the ultimate spice, isn’t it…?”
“Right?! You totally get it… Ah, wait. I am so sorry. I shouldn’t be saying weird things in front of a girl.”
“Ahaha! I’m the one who coaxed it out of you, so don’t worry about it. Besides, I hear guys love that stuff. Uh… according to Mary, all guys want female knights to say, ‘Curse you! Just kill me already!’?”
“No, absolutely not. That’s just a running trope.”
Seriously, what on earth is Ms. Mary even saying to her?! I don’t think people of this world would ever understand that.
…Actually, knowing Ms. Mary, she might seriously think it’s true. She kind of has a skewed common sense like that.
“By the way, what kind of outfits do you like, Ms. Kriemhild?”
“I’m a big fan of butler outfits and clerical clothing like the ones priests wear. White gloves are an absolute must.”
So she likes sleek, dark clothing with minimal skin showing. I can kind of understand the white gloves thing, though. It gives off a very refined, competent vibe. I personally love maid outfits paired with white gloves, so it’s probably similar.
…? Butler outfits and white gloves? Huh, now that I think about it—
“Though, I guess those things only look good when they’re on the person you like.”
Just as I felt like I was on the verge of remembering something important, Ms. Kriemhild’s words cut off my train of thought. Ah well, it’s probably not important anyway.
“Yeah, that’s true. Cyan and Apricot look great in their outfits, but at the end of the day…”
“It’s only exciting because it’s Vi wearing it!”
“…Precisely!”
Yep, exactly.
Cyan has her sister’s habit. Apricot has her witch robes. Both of them look good in them normally, but the impression changes completely depending on who’s wearing what. Sure, some outfits naturally suit certain people better based on appearance alone, but there’s no question that Lady Violet would look stunning in—
“….. Uh.”
As we were chatting pleasantly, my eyes caught someone standing behind Ms. Kriemhild, just beyond my line of sight.
A woman with beautiful, long violet hair and clear, striking blue eyes. Right now, her face was flushed considerably redder than usual, looking troubled about what to do.
“…L-lady Violet!”
Lady Violet was in my line of sight.
Hmm, wait a second, why does this feel so familiar? It feels like the exact same thing happened just recently. Specifically, when Gen and the others pressed me for an answer.
Okay, stay calm. I didn’t say anything that weird, right? All I said was that I wanted her to try on different outfits, and that I’d be thrilled if she did. And I said all of this directly to Ms. Kriemhild, who happens to be her best friend.
—Yup, I’m doomed!

NEXT TIME ON… (APRIL FOOLS’ SPECIAL)
Having overheard his desire to see her in various outfits, Violet decides to grant Clo’s wish! Desperate to find something suitable, she begs Apricot to lend her clothes. She then puts on Apricot’s clothes, but the difference in size stretches the outfit to its limits. Undeterred, she marches forward to present herself to Clo, unaware that the witch dress’s structural integrity had reached a critical point.
Will the witch outfit hold? Will Clo be able to survive Violet, whose face is red with embarrassment?
