Yan Hua and the Peak Eagle stayed close behind the beast flock, keeping their movements as quiet as possible.

Were they to accidentally disturb the Grey Feathered Giant Bird flock, the only thing awaiting the two of them would be death.

“Ah Hen, do you see it? The one at the very back of their formation is our target.” Yan Hua slowly lowered her body.

    *Screech screech screech…*

The Peak Eagle quietly signalled its understanding, and the pair had already climbed to a very high position.

Yan Hua slowly balanced herself and stood upright, her body swaying uncontrollably from side to side.

She focused on controlling her breathing and steadying her stance as best she could, because a single lapse in concentration would send her plummeting.

One had to bear in mind they were now at great altitude, and Yan Hua was standing atop a bird’s back.

This sort of high-difficulty manoeuvre was not something just anyone could pull off. One small mistake would result in death.

The Peak Eagle understood perfectly well what its Master was doing, and therefore kept itself as steady as possible while in flight.

The Peak Eagle began slowly drawing closer to that Ferocious Beast. The two creatures were now positioned one above and one level, perfectly aligned.

“A little further. Get ahead of it as much as possible, so that the position I jump from aligns with where it will be flying towards.” Yan Hua called out.

The Peak Eagle did not dare make a sound at this moment, wholly focused on maintaining balance.

It gave only a faint nod, then spread its wings and flew forward. In the blink of an eye, it had already overtaken the target.

“Now.” Yan Hua activated her Totem Power without a moment’s hesitation.

She planted her left foot and pushed off hard, then flipped once in the air and plunged downward.

The powerful air resistance pushed her hair straight back behind her, with every strand streaming in the wind.

Yan Hua’s brow was tightly furrowed, both arms pressed flat against either side of her body. This was all to make herself fall faster.

The Totem Mark on her body was distinctly visible; the reason she had activated the Totem Mark was to make herself jump faster, and to give herself more courage.

When Yan Hua leapt, it could be said there was not a moment’s hesitation. She feared that if she paused for even a moment, she would suddenly lose her nerve, and an opportunity this perfect, would be lost.

    *Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

The wind howled fiercely around Yan Hua’s hair, her linen clothing billowing and snapping in the gale.

The moment Yan Hua leapt, the Peak Eagle immediately adjusted direction as well, beginning a rapid descent.

The reason for this was its concern that if Yan Hua missed the Grey Feathered Giant Bird’s back, it would be there to catch her before she fell to the ground.

None of this had been arranged in advance. It all came from the Peak Eagle’s own instincts, for the two of them had been partners for quite a while already.

In the blink of an eye, Yan Hua landed squarely on the Grey Feathered Giant Bird’s back, steadily holding on.

As she came down she had seized the Grey Feathered Giant Bird’s feathers in a firm grip, leaving absolutely no possibility of falling off.

Yan Hua gripped the Shaman Bone Tablet tightly in one hand and instantly activated the Totem Power, bringing the Shaman Bone Tablet to life.

Yan Hua pressed the Shaman Bone Tablet firmly against the Grey Feathered Giant Bird’s back, letting the Taming Shaman Bone Tablet begin its work.

A blue radiance instantly enveloped the Grey Feathered Giant Bird. At first, the light resembled chains, winding and binding.

Then the blue light converged into a great net, and after one minute it began slowly sinking into the Grey Feathered Giant Bird’s body.

The entire process lasted little more than a minute, and now it was as though nothing had happened at all.

The one difference was that the Grey Feathered Giant Bird had ceased flying forward, instead beating its wings in place.

    *Coo coo coo…*

It turned its head to look back at Yan Hua, letting out a series of gentle calls.

These calls were very much like those of the doves back on Earth. Soft and thoroughly docile.

After seeing Yan Hua it had no intention of attacking, nor any inclination to throw her off its back. It seemed remarkably well-behaved.

“We did it.” Yan Hua cried out with joy.

From the moment she had leapt to the moment she had used the Shaman Bone Tablet, the whole process had taken only three or four minutes. The Grey Feathered Giant Bird had been Tamed before it even had time to react.

Yan Hua immediately let out a long breath and collapsed onto the bird’s back. Sweat had begun pouring from her forehead, and her back and palms were equally soaked through.

This had been extremely perilous. Even the slightest error at any point would have brought death to her door.

But clearly, the outcome was a good one. The Grey Feathered Giant Bird was now as docile as a newborn lamb.

The Peak Eagle had been standing by below, ready at a moment’s notice. Seeing this, it knew they had succeeded.

It gently beat its wings and ascended, quickly drawing level with the Grey Feathered Giant Bird.

“We did it, Ah Hen!” Yan Hua said happily.

    *Screech screech screech…*

The Peak Eagle called back softly, also expressing great happiness.

“Ah Hen, head back first and find Ah’Lan and the others. I will keep going with the Grey Feathered Giant Bird. One is not enough.” Yan Hua instructed.

After giving her instructions, she flew on ahead with the Grey Feathered Giant Bird, while the Peak Eagle obediently turned and went to find the others.

This has always been one of the most important missions. Having accomplished it with one beast, there was at least something to show for their efforts.

“Follow your companions, and act on my orders.” Yan Hua lowered her body and gave the command.

She repeated what she had just said to the Peak Eagle. After all, it was comparatively easier to approach Ferocious Beasts of the same species.

Perhaps they could even blend in perfectly with the flock without being detected, which would make Taming the other beasts far more convenient.

Yan Hua had planned this from the very beginning. As long as the first step was done, everything that followed would be much easier.

    *Coo coo coo…*

The Grey Feathered Giant Bird hummed softly in acknowledgement, then picked up speed.

Having been stationary for too long just now, the flock had already flown quite far ahead.

But Grey Feathered Giant Birds were fast fliers, and within a few minutes, it had already caught up with the formation.

The Grey Feathered Giant Bird continued quietly at the rear, and the other Grey Feathered Giant Birds had not noticed a thing.

“Act on my instructions. Do not be too impulsive.” Yan Hua issued her warning with great care.

She was truly excited right now, as though she could already see a whole flock of Tamed Grey Feathered Giant Birds before her.

    *Coo coo coo…*

The Grey Feathered Giant Bird gave a small nod and began searching the formation for a target at her instruction.

Indeed, Yan Hua was making a selection this time. She was primarily seeking out those with larger physiques, which could carry more people.

Now that she had one Grey Feathered Giant Bird, getting close to the others would be much easier.

The Peak Eagle was a different species. Drawing too close to them would just invite them to attack.

“Found one!” Yan Hua’s sharp red eyes lit up.
