“Hey, is the Flame Dragon Tribe really as good as they say? I keep feeling like it’s all a lie.” Yin Rong blinked her bluish green eyes, her voice soft and light as she spoke.

“It probably is. I didn’t see the goods myself, but Father said they were amazing, so it’s likely true.” Yin Lu earnestly said, rising on her tiptoes every so often to peer at the queue ahead.

“Both of you, settle down. We absolutely cannot let the Soft Rabbit Tribe lose face.” Yin An was very serious about this.

The three of them had come together, all from the Soft Rabbit Tribe.

They were triplets, though not identical as they were fraternal. The one who had spoken first was the Youngest Sister. Her bluish green fringe and long bluish green hair matched her eyes, giving her a playful look, and her face was slightly round. The second to speak was the Middle Sister, whose side parting gave her a gentle, refined air, with an oval face to match. The last one, the more serious of the three, was the Oldest Sister, with a neat and crisp centre parting.

Their most distinctive feature was their white rabbit ears and rabbit tails, which paired beautifully with their bluish green hair.

After Hu Shi left the Red Horse Tribe, the Soft Rabbit Tribe was the second stop.

“Yeah, yeah, I got it.” Yin Rong pouted pitifully.

They were now queuing to enter the Flame Dragon Tribe, though their turn came quickly enough.

The oldest of the triplet was first to lay her weapons on the table, and her two Sisters followed without hesitation. A female Totem Warrior of the Flame Dragon Tribe led the three Sisters into a room for a thorough search.

Everyone entering the Flame Dragon Tribe had to pass through such an inspection. Only once it was confirmed that a person carried nothing dangerous were they allowed inside.

A little over ten minutes later, the three rabbit eared girls cleared the check and stepped into the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“I didn’t expect this Tribe to be so rigorous. It seems there must be quite a few good things inside.” Yin Lu glanced back more than once.

“What did I tell you? I warned you on the road not to go looking around carelessly once we were in, so they wouldn’t have anything to say about us.” Yin An was careful as she spoke.

From the moment they joined the queue to the moment they entered the Tribe, the Oldest Sister had kept her eyes ahead. She had not once let her gaze wander. She was as rigorous as one could be.

“We were just curious. Besides, what harm does a look do?” Yin Rong stuck out her tongue and pulled a face.

While the three Sisters of the Soft Rabbit Tribe were talking amongst themselves, the people from the other Tribes had also been let in.

Once she saw that everyone had gathered, Sha Lan stepped into the middle of the group and spoke. “Our Tribe has guides. They will take you on a tour of our Tribe first.”

“And then?” Someone from one of the Tribes asked.

“The guides are mainly to get familiar with our Tribe first. After that, you are welcome to stay the night. Tomorrow, our Shaman will receive you.” Sha Lan’s voice was clear and carrying.

Sha Lan finished speaking and turned to leave, without lingering in their midst.

It was just as Su Bai had said, give those Tribes a sense of mystery.

Yin Lu watched Sha Lan go and turned to her Sisters with wide eyes. “Older Sister, Little Sister, did you see? The clothes she was wearing were so beautiful. And the accessories too.”

The Second Sister had already noticed. Her bluish green eyes had followed Sha Lan’s retreating figure without moving.

“I didn’t expect a Shaman Priestess of the Flame Dragon Tribe to dress like that. What struck me most was how different her whole appearance was.” Yin Rong’s expression was full of undisguised envy. Sha Lan’s dress was simply nothing like that of the other women of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

Along the main road, one could see the people of the Flame Dragon Tribe moving to and fro, and Sha Lan walking among them formed a contrast that was almost startling. Like a single bright star in the dark of night… one could not help but look twice.

“She really is beautiful. It seems like the Flame Dragon Tribe has something we need.” Yin An gave a thoughtful nod.

The Oldest Sister had been quite composed all this while, yet even she had lost her footing a little after seeing Sha Lan.

“Older Sister, what do you think those things from the Flame Dragon Tribe are?” Yin Rong kept turning in small circles on the spot, her gaze sweeping over the Tribe’s houses and roads.

“I never imagined a Tribe building their houses out of stone. But how?” Yin Lu was equally fascinated.

In twenty years of living, this was the first time the three Sisters had seen a Tribe like this.

“Whatever happens, we cannot disgrace our Tribe. If there is anything to be said, we say it privately, just the three of us.” Yin An lowered her voice as she reminded them.

She was curious too, of course, about the houses and the roads, about the carriages that had rumbled past, about whatever it was Sha Lan had been wearing. But for now, what the Oldest Sister held in her heart was a single thought, she would not let the Soft Rabbit Tribe lose face. No matter how stunned she felt, she would hold it in.

“Understood.” Yin Rong pressed both hands firmly over her mouth, muffling herself.

“We won’t embarrass Older Sister or the Tribe.” Yin Lu tucked a strand of hair gently behind her ear.

With a guide from the Flame Dragon Tribe leading the way, the triplets began their tour.

The first stop was the Tribe’s Restful Night Building. Getting the lodging arrangements sorted was the most pressing matter.

These past few days, people from various other Tribes had been arriving one after another to trade, and rooms were rather scarce. The new hotel was still under construction and would not be ready until next year at the earliest. So for now there was only the Restful Night Building, and it was first come, first served.

After checking in at the Restful Night Building, they were taken straight to the Central Market.

The Central Market was the Flame Dragon Tribe’s most celebrated attraction. Any visitor from another Tribe was expected to go there.

The Central Market was full of all manner of people and all manner of goods. Not only of what the Flame Dragon Tribe produced itself, but things from other Tribes too. Su Bai had initially been reluctant to allow goods from other Tribes into the Central Market, but on reflection he had agreed, for the sake of variety.

So the Central Market now held numerous items brought in by visiting Tribes. The earnings, once the goods sold, went to the Flame Dragon Tribe. There was no particular reason for this arrangement. These things had simply been left behind by visiting Tribes in exchange for other goods, and they happened to offer other Tribes a way to browse and compare.

After the Central Market, they were taken to the food street, which lined up nicely with the evening meal.

The guide had arranged the schedule for each visiting group with precision, till there was no idle time.

The feeling of wonder was constant. Even when there was already wonder, there was more wonder still.

When the day’s itinerary was finally done, everyone went back to their respective rooms to rest.
