    *Splash splash splash…*

The Flame Dragon Sail sailed steadily up the great river, and before long they arrived at their first destination.

The Red Horse Tribe was the first stop on this journey, a Tribe that sat close to the river’s edge.

“Look, we’ve reached the Red Horse Tribe.” Hu Shi stood at the prow and gazed ahead.

He looked extremely excited, and not merely because they had arrived. The main thing was that the entire journey had passed without incident. Not a single Ferocious Beast had successfully attacked them between the Flame Dragon Tribe and the Red Horse Tribe, and the ship had not encountered a single problem.

The crew had adapted well too. No one had suffered the seasickness Su Bai had warned them about before they departed.

Su Bai had been careful to caution them about it, knowing that seasickness was not an illness, but that it could make a person feel worse than being ill. The whole body would grow dizzy and heavy, and the vomiting would not stop.

As it turned out, the people of the Flame Dragon Tribe were in fine shape. Not one of them had been seasick the entire way.

“We’ve finally made it to the first destination. Four days isn’t that long.” Qing Yan squinted at the Red Horse Tribe in the distance.

The Tribe sat very close to the river. Perhaps a few minutes’ walk and one would be at the water’s edge.

The whole settlement looked lush and green, and for no other reason than that the tops of all the wooden houses were covered in leaves. Looking out across it, there were perhaps dozens of wooden houses, each one ringed by rows of fencing.

Even the fencing of the Red Horse Tribe had green leaves hung along it. The entire place was nothing but green.

“Quite right. If we had gone through the forest on foot, it would have taken at least half a month no matter what.” Hu Shi felt a deep gratitude for the Flame Dragon Tribe having built the Flame Dragon.

He had grown genuinely fond of this great ship. In his heart, he had already made a quiet decision, which was that he would live and die alongside this ship.

Other people might find that a little dramatic. But to Hu Shi, it did not feel dramatic at all. If anything, he felt it was full of purpose.

“I have a question.” Qing Yan folded his arms across his chest, his expression complicated.

“What is it?” Hu Shi looked at him, puzzled.

“Why is this Tribe covered in so many leaves? If they want to keep the place green all the time, don’t they have to go into the forest constantly to gather great piles of leaves?” Qing Yan tilted his head and solemnly asked.

“Who knows. We can just go and ask them.” Hu Shi, for his part, seemed completely unbothered by this.

“Fair enough. Then, let us choose those we will send out. Since this Tribe is one led mostly by women, we should send out our female Totem Warriors.”

Qing Yan turned toward the cabin and called out, “Zi Yun, we’ve arrived at the Red Horse Tribe.”

    *Step step step…*

The sound of feet on wooden boards came rapidly from inside the cabin, and Zi Yun came running out.

She tossed her long violet hair back and asked with delight, “Really? We’re here already!”

Zi Yun was a Totem Warrior who had awakened this year in the Flame Dragon Tribe, the same cohort as Yan Hua.

The long violet hair and violet eyes were striking. Her small, fine features made you look twice. Her tall figure was the kind that made the blood run quick, though her skin was not especially fair.

But the wheat-coloured complexion suited her perfectly well. It had a healthy, lively feeling to it.

The most distinctive thing about Zi Yun was the single grey horn growing from her forehead. Paired with her sharp fangs, it gave her an alert, striking look.

She was one of the more remarkable-looking female Totem Warriors in the Flame Dragon Tribe, and when she first awakened, she had drawn no small amount of attention. After that she had been recovering from an injury, and once she healed, she rarely showed her face publicly, spending most of her time training.

When this mission came up, she was the one assigned to it. A way to gain some experience.

“Didn’t expect it, did you. Neither did I. Now it’s your turn to be useful.” Qing Yan said it plainly.

Zi Yun was his Niece, someone he had watched grow up. It was fortunate that she had awakened as a Totem Warrior.

“My turn? Aren’t you and Uncle Hu Shi coming with me?” Zi Yun looked genuinely confused.

“This Tribe is led by women and it is mostly made up of women. If we go in, they will be hostile straight away. If that happens, there will be no chance of any trade.”

Hu Shi spread his hands. “So, you will be representing us in the negotiation.”

“Me? Representing? The Flame Dragon Tribe? In negotiations?” Zi Yun blinked her violet eyes rapidly. “You can’t be serious. How could I possibly do that?”

“You can do it. This mission can only be completed by you. But don’t feel any pressure though.” Qing Yan said with full sincerity.

“That’s right. All you need to do is bring the goods inside the Red Horse Tribe. Once they see what we have, they will know what to do.”

Hu Shi looked at the unicorn girl steadily. “When they are ready to talk, you tell them you cannot make the decisions, and let them speak with me.”

“Oh? That’s it? Why didn’t you say so from the start! I can finally relax a little.” Zi Yun exhaled with relief. “So what do I need to bring? Everything? Should be everything, right?”

That was simply her usual manner of answering her own questions before anyone else could.

“Yes, bring everything. Bring it all up and let them have a proper look.” Qing Yan laughed.

“En. Let me get ready. But… there are only three of us female Totem Warriors. Just the three of us are going in?” Zi Yun thought for a moment, then nodded. “Actually, en, makes sense. A Tribe like this one, we’d need to be the ones going.”

“Alright. Alright, just get ready. Bring one of each item. Let them know we have such excellent goods. Too much at once and it loses its effect.” Hu Shi said at once.

“Understood.” Zi Yun dashed back into the cabin to get everything ready.

Half an hour later, the Flame Dragon drifted gently to the bank.

It did not moor directly at the Red Horse Tribe, but at a distance.

Zi Yun took a slow breath and stepped off with the goods. Two other Totem Warriors followed behind her.

“Got your Shaman Bone Tablets? Recurve bow? And signal flare…” Qing Yan called after her.

“Yup, yup and yup. Don’t worry Uncle. The moment anything happens, I fire the signal flare. You all can wait here.” Zi Yun gave her hair a casual toss.

“Alright, alright. Go on then.” Qing Yan waved her off.

He put a hand over his face and thought with mild resignation. [This Niece of mine is perfect in every respect. What a shame about that mouth of hers…]
