Luo Lan, Pi, and Bu Lu were brought up to the second floor of the Yong’an Building after passing through inspection.

They had already been waiting in the square for a very long time, watching people from other Tribes come out one after another.

What Luo Lan and the others did not know was why they had been left until last.

There was no particular reason. Simply that the later you were seen, the less likely it was there would still be any opportunity to work with the Flame Dragon Tribe.

For all they knew, the people before them had already shown their hand, and the Flame Dragon Tribe had already chosen to work with them.

What grated on Luo Lan and the others most was the Horned Goat Tribe. They had all been received before them.

The three now stood uneasily in the living room. After bowing politely, none of them quite knew what to do with themselves.

“Shaman, our Tribe’s advantage is insects.” Pi, as the Leader of this visit, naturally had to speak first.

When the words had fallen, he summoned a swarm of insects from the sleeve of his wide robe.

Inside, though, he was deeply uneasy. The Horned Goat Tribe had certainly done the same thing just before them. Pi had no idea whether he could satisfy the Shaman of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“I know your Tribe’s strength is insects. But what use is that? I have them now as well.” Su Bai had a cluster of insects resting in the palm of his hand.

Of course, this particular cluster was not the one the Horned Goat Tribe had given him.

Su Bai still did not know what the secret was behind the Horned Goat Tribe’s and the Coiled Goat Tribe’s control of insects. The cluster in his palm was simply one he had Tamed himself.

To other Tribes this cluster might look unremarkable, but to Yu Ying and those who knew better it was perfectly plain what they were Night Glow Insects, caught on their last outing into the forest.

“Though they are not our Tribe’s insects, how did you ever…” Pi was struck completely dumb.

He could tell that the cluster was not from his Tribe, nor could it possibly have come from the Horned Goat Tribe.

Though the two Tribes had already split apart, the insects each was able to tame were much the same. But what shook him even more at this moment was that the Shaman of the Flame Dragon Tribe also knew how to tame insects.

In Pi’s eyes, on that point alone they had already lost. The Coiled Goat Tribe had no more cards left to play.

“Everything your Tribe knows, I know too. And your Tribe’s current position, three sides mountain, one side river. Is that right?”

Su Bai leaned slowly forward and continued: “Do you think our Flame Dragon Tribe could take your Tribe?”

The presence he was radiating now carried a killing intent, and the pressure that came with it was heavy and suffocating.

Yu Ying and Sha Lan, standing to the side, were untroubled by any of it. Su Bai’s pressure could be directed precisely at whoever he chose.

Luo Lan and Bu Lu had already begun to buckle under it, and they had started channelling their Totem Power just to stay upright.

Without that Totem Power, they would likely have dropped to their knees by now. In worse cases it might even have been enough to knock them senseless.

“Shaman, please, let us be. What has our Coiled Goat Tribe done?” Pi, being a mid-grade Totem Warrior after all, had a somewhat stronger resistance to pressure than the others.

Su Bai straightened up with a sweep of his sleeve and said, in a low, measured tone: “Your Tribe hasn’t done anything wrong. It’s simply that our Flame Dragon Tribe wishes to expand its territory. The same as what the Dark Scorpion Tribe did. What is wrong with that?”

He knew the Coiled Goat Tribe would certainly be aware of what had happened with the Dark Scorpion Tribe, which was precisely why he had brought it up.

The Horned Goat Tribe had been attacked, and the Coiled Goat Tribe had not lifted a finger to help. The grievances between the two Tribes had clearly grown deep long before that.

“I believe the Flame Dragon Tribe has that strength. But why us?” Pi was genuinely puzzled.

In truth, his belief in the Flame Dragon Tribe’s power had nothing to do with the pressure Su Bai had just exerted on them.

It came from the days he had spent at the Restful Night Building. He had already formed a rough picture of the Flame Dragon Tribe during that time.

Of course, what he knew was only what the Flame Dragon Tribe had chosen for him to know. There were a great many things Pi had not the faintest idea about.

The reason he was willing to say the Flame Dragon Tribe had the strength, rather than drawing himself up in pride at the Coiled Goat Tribe’s naturally defensible geography, was simple.

He had seen the Flame Dragon Tribe’s flying transportation vehicles. Those enormous Ferocious Beasts.

At the time he had only guessed boldly that the Flame Dragon Tribe had the ability to Tame Ferocious Beasts. He had not imagined there was also an ability to Tame insects.

That single fact eliminated any chance his Tribe had. The moment the Flame Dragon Tribe rode those great flying Ferocious Beasts against the Coiled Goat Tribe, their defeat would be absolute.

“There is no why. Do you wish to join our Flame Dragon Tribe, or would you prefer to be attacked by us?” Su Bai turned the question back on him.

He had been thinking that if a Tribe could be brought in without spending a single soldier, all the better. If not, he had no objection whatsoever to using force.

Su Bai imagined the other man might be slightly bewildered. Had they not come here to negotiate a partnership? How had it turned into being recruited into the Flame Dragon Tribe?

In Su Bai’s own words, this move could be called walking into the trap of his own accord. Or more plainly, a sheep stepping into a tiger’s mouth.

“Is there any difference between the two? In the end, both amount to becoming part of the Flame Dragon Tribe.” Pi’s brow furrowed slightly.

He was a Mid-Grade Totem Warrior after all. Even with no path of victory before him, he still had to gather up at least a shred of dignity.

Su Bai’s brows rose a little. He appreciated the stubborn composure the other man was showing, and said lightly: “You know that taking your Tribe would be entirely simple for us. But that isn’t what we want to do.”

“Shaman, did you not just say you wanted us to join the Flame Dragon Tribe? Why is it suddenly not what you want to do?” Pi was thoroughly confused.

“We are not the Dark Scorpion Tribe with all their brutality. We would give you absolute freedom and democracy.” Su Bai said it earnestly.

“Freedom? Democracy? Shaman, I don’t understand what democracy means.” Pi had never encountered the word before.

“It means you can still make your own decisions. Still live your own lives. Without being restricted by us.” Su Bai said it plainly.

He knew some Tribes simply disliked being constrained, that some would rather have freedom and would fight to their last breath rather than submit.

But Su Bai had no interest in spending a single soldier, so he had chosen the approach of freedom and democracy instead.

“But that would be no different from not having joined the Flame Dragon Tribe at all.” Pi still could not quite follow the logic.

“Not so. From now on, you will no longer be called the Coiled Goat Tribe.” Su Bai’s mouth curved up at the corner. “I shall call you Sun Dish City.”

It was something he had always been thinking about, turning the Tribes into cities. The only problem was that their scale had never quite been large enough.

But since the Sea Fish Tribe and the Horned Goat Tribe had come, he felt the time had come to put the plan on the calendar.

“Sun Dish City?” Pi had encountered yet another word that was entirely foreign to him.
