Yue Mingkong silently remained seated in her white carriage. Complementing her beguiling beauty were her tied up conch-shaped hair and her captivating face. Her onyx crystals like eyes, were calm yet deep.

Nonetheless, in that instant, her delicate cheeks were subtly, unintentionally blushing. A glimmer of joy from the pleasant surprise appeared in her eyes. It was obvious that her mind got swayed by Gu Changge’s words. Hearing such compliments from Gu Changge felt completely different than hearing them from other men.

If those words were spoken by anyone else, she wouldn’t have been flustered. However, when it came from Gu Changge himself, that was another story. All of a sudden, she couldn’t help but think that Gu Changge might finally realise something and recognize her beauty.

In fact, Yue Mingkong had always been confident with her own charm. She was even aware that no other woman could rival her in terms of beauty. Yet, Gu Changge’s heart never seemed to waver for her, which had always made her frustrated in both her lives.

“Long Teng had an idea he shouldn’t have had. Letting him go this way is already merciful.” Lightly grinning, Gu Changge leisurely spoke as if he didn’t notice Yue Mingkong’s emotional changes. After all, voicing a pretty compliment costs nothing. Besides, it wasn’t like he was telling a lie.

Hearing that, Yue Mingkong stared at him without blinking her eyes, as if she wanted to penetrate him with her gaze.

“It’s Long Teng’s own fault for barking up the wrong tree.” She calmly stated without revealing the joy in her heart, and instead, she spoke with a rather indifferent face.

Nevertheless, Gu Changge knew that she loved listening to his compliments, so he wasn’t bothered. He faintly smiled. “It is his own fault indeed. Even if I hadn’t killed him, I’m quite sure you would have.”

Since there was not a third person with them, he might as well be upfront with Yue Mingkong.

[As a regressor, Yue Mingkong is definitely aware of Long Teng’s personality and she still decided to draw him to me. This can only mean that she, too, hated Long Teng and wanted to borrow my powers to eliminate him.] Gu Changge had been pampering Yue Mingkong, so he wasn’t too annoyed by her little mind games.

“What do you mean by that?” Yue Mingkong pulled a clueless face as she coldly stared at him.

Instead of exposing her, Gu Changge simply chuckled.  “I have Long Teng’s corpse with me. Tell me what you want and I just might just give it to you.”

“You…” Yue Mingkong froze as Gu Changge spoke what was on her mind.

She had been racking her brains to deal with Long Teng. She wanted the Five-Coloured True Dragon Blood within him, which was said to be a treasure of mysterious and ancient origin he  coincidentally obtained. If she were to refine and consume the drop of Five-Coloured True Dragon Blood, her strength would be enhanced and she would be granted the daunting Talents and the vigorous life force of a dragon.

Having not expected Gu Changge to see through her so easily, she couldn’t help but feel frustrated and unsettled. Every time she was with him, he always had the upper hand.

“You’ll give it to me once I tell you?” Yue Mingkong calmed herself down before asking.

“Why are you always so sceptical of me?” Gu Changge remorsefully countered with an expression that left Yue Mingkong perplexed as to what he was thinking.

After a moment of silence, Yue Mingkong answered, “It is said that Long Teng’s body bears a drop of True Dragon Blood, which I find very useful.”

She had no idea whether providing such information to him would lead him to regretting and going back on his words. Essentially, Gu Changge practised Nommening, in which its requirement of cultivator corpses was simply terrifying.

As a matter of fact, Long Teng’s True Dragon Blood’ came from an ancient mysterious Primeval Dragon. And judging by Gu Changge’s selfish personality, there was no way he would forgo such a precious item. Even without her mentioning it, he would probably come up with ways to refine the True Dragon Blood’.

“True Dragon Blood?” Upon hearing that, Gu Changge was momentarily stunned as he recalled the Five-Coloured True Dragon Blood, which might be the ‘True Dragon Blood’ Yue Mingkong was referring to. Nonetheless, since he obtained it from the Heavenly Gift Treasure Chest upon killing Long Teng, the prize must be related to Long Teng.

Moreover, it was a reward from the System, which was given additionally due to the effect of the Zero Fortuity Rule. In other words, there was still another drop of Five-Coloured True Dragon Blood inside Long Teng’s body.

Naturally, Gu Changge’s instinct was to withdraw his promise. Essentially, such a beneficial item, allowing one to possess exceptional vitality and defence traits, should only be kept to himself for personal gains.

However, upon second thought, he figured that since he had fused with one drop of Five-Coloured True Dragon Blood, the effect of the second drop would diminish.

He could already feel Yue Mingkong’s frustration. Although he couldn’t see anything strange on her neutral face through the veil, her disaffection wouldn’t be able to escape his wits.

Gu Changge cracked up as he laughingly stated, “First you plotted for Ye Ling’s legacy, and now, you set Long Teng up for his True Dragon Blood. I wonder what’s going on in that mind of yours, you vehement devil. You’re quite the visionary, aren’t you?”

Upon those words, Yue Mingkong immediately grew irritated as her urge to strangle the man in front of her intensified. [And there I was, so excited for his compliments. I must be sick in the head! What’s going on with my brain? Me, a vehement devil? Does he speak with no sense of self-awareness!?]

Yue Mingkong hadn’t the slightest idea as to where Ye Ling was now, but since Gu Changge was targeting him, there was no way she could seize Ye Ling’s legacy.

As such, judging by Gu Changge’s words, it seemed she would have to forget about the drop of True Dragon Blood.

And so, Yue Mingkong stopped talking, feigning contempt towards Gu Changge as if she was infuriated.

“Oh, look at you. Why do you look like I just bullied you?” Gu Changge was still laughing as he said those words without any self-awareness.

*Whoosh!* At once, Yue Mingkong furiously raised her head as her hair flew; on her impeccable face was rage-filled eyes with gritted teeth.

“Gu Changge, you shameless pig! All you do is bully me all day! What do you know other than that, huh!?” Losing her cool, she almost stormed out of the carriage. She was even looking somewhat miserable as she got absolutely triggered by Gu Changge’s words. [Every single word he says is just meant to bully me. Why was I ever fooled into thinking otherwise!]

Seeing how she reacted, Gu Changge swiftly withdrew his mischievousness and blandly claimed, “I’ll give you Long Teng’s corpse, but only under one condition. Yell ‘please, Darling.'”

“What?” Yue Mingkong was stunned as her eyes opened wide. Once again, she doubted her ears.

[Does he really intend to surrender Long Teng’s corpse to me? Does he not want that drop of True Dragon Blood? Why is he being so generous?] She was starting to suspect that the Gu Changge before her was a doppelganger.

“Please, Darling!” Fearing that Gu Changge might take back his words, Yue Mingkong hurriedly shouted. She did not blush nor did her heart palpitate. She wasn’t at all flustered when saying those lovey-dovey words. Unlike other women who tended to get bashful, she did not. After all, she had already married Gu Changge once in her previous life, and now, they were basically a married couple, so shouting these words was nothing strange to her.

In response, Gu Changge smilingly replied, “Aren’t you so obedient!”

All of a sudden, Yue Mingkong felt as if she was being toyed with, but that no longer mattered.

A gush of light occurred within Gu Changge’s storage ring and an enormous carcass of a dragon appeared in the sky. Since Long Teng was dead, he reverted to his original gargantuan form. Nonetheless, he was not a True Dragon, and simply inherited a portion of True Dragon Blood.

There was not a trace of life force within this monumental carcass, yet its tremendously intimidating energy remained. The scales on the corpse glistened like the sturdiest metals that had just been cleansed with the purest water. Each piece exuded an overbearing aura.

At that moment, Yue Mingkong peered at the giant dragon carcass. Although Long Teng only died a short while ago, his life force had completely faded, while the rest of his remains were intact. It seemed like Gu Changge did not meddle with it as there were no signs of refinement. Thus, she felt relieved.

Shortly after, Yue Mingkong turned to Gu Changge with a sceptical gaze. “Are you not going to absorb the dragon’s body with Nommening? Why are you giving it to me?”

[Since Changge possessed Nommening, it’s only inevitable that he requires a substantial number of corpses to enhance his powers. Yet, why is he being so kind as to let me have Long Teng’s True Dragon Blood? Does he bear no desire for it? Not even one bit?] Numberless questions popped up in her mind.

Hearing that, Gu Changge subconsciously smiled. “Of course, that was my plan. But since you want it, then I, as your husband, shall grant you your wish. It is as simple as that.”

Though, the main reason lay within the base of the Black Hawk Family, where more cultivation resources awaited him. So, the carcass of this dragon was of no necessity to him. Moreover, since Yue Mingkong wished to have it, he should give it to her.

Once again, Yue Mingkong was left dumbfounded as she was taken aback by Gu Changge’s answer. Judging by his former personality, there was no way he would have agreed to such a request. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have scoured everywhere for cultivation resources and sneakily take down young prodigies.

In fact, Long Teng’s body was of utmost value, which far exceeded that of young prodigies. Yet, Gu Changge willingly handed it to her without even a second of hesitation. Yue Mingkong felt moved as the anger she had for him waned.

“Since this dragon carcass is important to you, you should keep it.” For some strange reason, Yue Mingkong said those words. Upon speaking, she was stunned with how she unexpectedly said them.

[I had to please him so much in order to get my hands on the True Dragon Blood, and I’m returning them back right away!? What in the world is wrong with me!?]

However, one was only as good as their words. Therefore, despite her regret, she could only hold it in without revealing any weird faces that would draw Gu Changge’s ridicule.

“I’ve promised to give it to you, so that’s what I’ll do.” Even Gu Changge was dazed hearing her rejection. He replied with a smile. “Though, I must admit that I am touched by how considerate you are.”

At that moment, having calmed herself down, Yue Mingkong retained her calm look and replied, “Well, it’s not too late to finally realise it now.”

Her words made her seem as though she was rather dissatisfied with Gu Changge. In response, Gu Changge merely shook his head as he heaved a sigh, as though he had something to express. In the end, he said nothing, though he was chortling in his heart.

Even Gu Changge did not expect Yue Mingkong to say such a thing. He found it strange how she would put him first despite the precious True Dragon Blood being presented before her. [How naive she is. I don’t even know what to say…]

Nevertheless, he was now certain of one thing, even if he were to do nothing and allow Yue Mingkong to surpass him, eventually reaching a level where she could finally kill him, her love for him would never allow her to do so. All she would do was stomp like an angry little girl and drop her weapon before turning away to leave.

She was widely recognized as a future emperor with a stone cold heart, yet with such a side to her, how could she ever take revenge on him?

Regardless, Gu Changge was aware that Yue Mingkong’s change in attitude was a result of his recent actions, so it wasn’t exactly a surprise as everything happened for a reason.

He transferred the dragon carcass to Yue Mingkong as he was a man of his words.

Quietly peering at him, she was at loss for words. She seemed to have understood something from Gu Changge’s sigh. However, given how wordless he was being, she couldn’t help but feel frustrated

“I shall take my leave now.” Eventually, without saying much, Gu Changge turned to the sky and gathered his followers before summoning an Arcane Bridge and leading his followers away.

If he recalled correctly, back when he was duelling with Long Teng, the cultivation disturbance came from that direction. Indeed, Long Teng was killed, but there was still something else to deal with. Although the Lost Clans of the Celestial Ancient Continent didn’t seem brave enough to do anything, they were certainly upset. After all, Long Teng, the supposed successor of the clan whom his Elders wholeheartedly trained up. He died before his Masters could, and that was why the entire clan wouldn’t just sit still.

“Now that Long Teng’s body is in Yue Mingkong’s hands, the Lost Clans might come for her. Well, why don’t I eliminate her troubles before they reach her…” Gu Changge muttered.

Having considered such a possibility, Gu Changge decided to let Yue Mingkong discover her own opportunities on her own after everything he had done for her. Given her intellect and the fact that she was a regressor, she would definitely advance further as Gu Changge had predicted. Therefore,  he wasn’t exactly worried about her.

“Ye Ling and the Ancient Reincarnation Supreme Being’s cave could be temporarily put aside. According to cliches, it won’t be possible for him to locate the cave in such a short time as it would need to be an adverse journey. He’ll probably break through or bump into some godly weapon. As for the Entanglement Immortal Might I planted in the Black Hawk Family, it’s going to take time, so there’s no point rushing it.”

Leading his countless followers, Gu Changge tracked the aura and followed it to its source. Upon seeing him, cultivators on the nearby mountains speedily scattered away. Only a few stayed back to greet Gu Changge, only to be responded with his disregard.

Staring at the direction Gu Changge left, Yue Mingkong remained seated in her carriage as she was disturbed by the complicated emotions swirling inside of her. Feeling extremely fatigued, she rubbed her forehead.

What baffled her the most was Gu Changge’s actions earlier. For a brief moment, she caught Gu Changge’s momentary expression where he seemed as though he had something to say, which was why she assumed that something must be troubling him.

Whether it was in her previous life or her current life, she had never seen Gu Changge behave in such a manner. Judging by his personality in her previous life, things were indeed odd, as though some incident caused him to change drastically all of a sudden.

[No matter what it is, Gu Changge’s demonic nature is etched in his bones. Even if he feigned no hostility towards me now, that doesn’t mean things would stay the same in the future. To prevent history from repeating itself, I have to get stronger. His current cultivation level is unparalleled. If everything he did up until now is to simply charm me, then he is way too terrifying… However, that is merely just a guess. It’s not likely to happen. After all, what motive does he have that requires him to charm me? It’s a no-brainer. He simply has no need to.]

Nevertheless, she grew more resolute with her initial plan, to investigate Gu Changge’s past once she left the Celestial Ancient Continent. She had no intention of sitting idly by. She needed to know. Ever since her meeting with Gu Changge at the Gu Family Residence, she noticed he was significantly different from the Gu Changge she knew in her previous life.

His behaviour towards Gu Xianer had also changed, evidently with how he risked his own life to take an attack from Gu Xianer in order to make up for the agony he caused her in the past.

Furthermore, earlier today, he even forgoed Long Teng’s True Dragon Blood for her sake. To her, Gu Changge had always been a heartless calculative person. It was her misfortune to have fallen for such a man, let alone loving him to her bones.

Nonetheless, having witnessed Gu Changge’s changes today, Yue Minggkong grew optimistic.

“To the east of the Mountains of Horizons.” Yue Mingkong voiced her command as she planned to set the place up. According to her memories, somewhere nearby the Mountains of Horizons was where the Celestial Spirit would be born.
