In the hall, Liu Yuemei laughed gleefully, whereas Xiao Xinghe’s face was livid. As he looked at the spot where Lu Ye had stood, he was full of self-blame and regret.

He was unable to have a hand in this situation. Once a treasure like the Deathmatch Platform was activated, even a Divine Ocean Realm Master couldn’t interfere in this, let alone a Third-Order Real Lake Realm Master like him.

Lu Ye and Chen Ke had entered the pocket dimension of the Deathmatch Platform. The outcome was preordained.

Suddenly, Xiao Xinghe lifted his head and glowered at Liu Yuemei. “Pass Leader, aren’t you worried about getting a backlash from the Heavens for doing such a despicable thing?”

Liu Yuemei stopped laughing and snorted. “A backlash from the Heavens? I’ve never violated any terms and conditions of the Sacred Pact. Why would I suffer any backlash?”

Xiao Xinghe instantly realised what had happened. “Did you rig the Sacred Pact?”

“So what if I did?” It had come to a point where Liu Yuemei no longer had to hide anything. Since the two parties had entered the Deathmatch Platform, only one of them could come out alive. She believed Chen Ke would be the winner.

A furious Xiao Xinghe grabbed the hilt of his saber. Just then, Lin Yinxiu took his arm. Xiao Xinghe turned his head and saw the woman shaking her head.

Xiao Xinghe was only a Third-Order Real Lake Realm Master. If he attacked Liu Yuemei, he would be challenging someone in power. It would be fine for Liu Yuemei to kill him right there and then.

Naturally, Xiao Xinghe was aware of that as well. However, as a Divine Ocean Realm Master, Liu Yuemei had pulled a trick on Lu Ye, a Third-Order Real Lake Realm Master. Xiao Xinghe couldn’t be blamed for being incensed.

“Everything is possible before we see the outcome,” Lin Yinxiu whispered.

Xiao Xinghe was startled for a moment before nodding and forcing himself to calm down.

A disappointed Liu Yuemei snorted and glanced at Xiao Xinghe. She had hoped that Xiao Xinghe would attack him. It would’ve been a chance for her to end his life.

It was fine for her, though. When she thought about Lu Ye getting killed by Chen Ke soon, the frustrations that had been brewing within her subsided significantly.

In the pocket dimension of the Deathmatch Platform, two figures appeared as they stood across from each other.

Lu Ye still appeared flustered, but his expression soon turned calm.

Across from him, Chen Ke was ready to watch his expression for enjoyment, but he was surprised to see him calming down so soon. “You’re pretty sedate, but unfortunately, your life is going to end soon. Tell me how you want to get killed. I’ll grant your wish.”

As soon as he finished speaking, he summoned his Spirit Artifact, which was a spear. He was a handsome man. With the spear in his hand now, he looked dignified and intimidating.

Lu Ye remained silent as he slowly unsheathed the Inviolable Saber. He reckoned that he couldn’t win the battle too easily. He had to make it look like a tough fight. If he won too easily, Liu Yuemei’s suspicion would be aroused, and there might be some unwanted trouble. The best outcome would be that he won by a thin margin and killed Chen Ke while looking battered himself. As such, he couldn’t use his Divine Ego and some trump cards. It wasn’t hard to achieve, though.

Chen Ke was displeased at the other man’s silence. He scoffed and said, “In that case, don’t blame me for going hard on you!”

The moment he finished speaking, he charged towards Lu Ye, who instantly made a move as well.

The two of them soon clashed as Lu Ye brought down his saber while Chen Ke pushed out his spear.

As their weapons clanged against each other, their Spiritual Powers surged. With the two of them at the centre, a visible air blast spread in all directions.

Chen Ke was astonished at that moment. He had imagined Lu Ye getting destroyed in an instant, but that didn’t happen. The strength and speed Lu Ye had showcased were as great as his. They seemed to be an equal match.

[Why is he so powerful?] Chen Ke was glad that Liu Yuemei didn’t let Qi Wu take part in the fight. Considering Lu Ye’s heritage, Qi Wu wouldn’t be a match for him. [It’s no wonder he had the guts to summon the Deathmatch Platform. He had the confidence to defeat Qi Wu.]

Clangs were continuously heard. Even though many thoughts turned over in Chen Ke’s mind, he never stopped wielding his spear as he exchanged moves with Lu Ye.

However, as the fight dragged on, he was astounded. He didn’t fully activate his power for the first attack. That was because he didn’t think he had to do so when dealing with someone who was four Minor Realms below him.

He gradually exerted more force for the following attacks. After several attacks, he no longer held back his power, but Lu Ye could still easily fend off his strikes.

This was inconceivable to Chen Ke. Despite his reluctance, he had no choice but to acknowledge that Lu Ye was an equal match for him. He growled and madly activated his Spiritual Power as his attacks turned increasingly violent.

There came a moment when their weapons clashed with a clang. Chen Ke felt his purlicues turning numb as he involuntarily lifted his spear, which almost flew out of his hands. He anxiously grabbed the weapon tight, but this gave the other party a chance to hurt him.

His pupils dilated when he felt a sense of murderous intent coming right at him. Lu Ye was extending his saber towards Chen Ke’s heart.

At the most critical moment, Chen Ke showcased his powerful heritage as a disciple from a major Sect. Faced with the attack, he was unflustered as he tilted his figure and pushed out his spear. He was determined to defeat Lu Ye despite his life being at risk. There was no doubt he was ferocious, but Lu Ye wasn’t any less savage.

The sounds of blood spurting out of wounds were heard as both of them were injured. None of them backed down. They were still fighting in close-quarters combat.

The fight soon intensified. The two of them were entirely on the offensive. They would only dodge the attacks when the threats were fatal.

That made the fight look bloody. In just a short time, both of them were all red as though they were built from blood.

Following the deterioration of injury and prolonged use of power, Chen Ke’s aura seemed to be weakening. On the other hand, Lu Ye was still as steady as ever.

After another dangerous exchange of moves, Chen Ke didn’t dare to keep on doing this. He withstood Lu Ye’s attack and quickly moved backwards to widen the gap between them.

Across from him, Lu Ye was calm and collected as he didn’t have the intention of running after his opponent. Even his breathing was stable. Although he looked battered, Chen Ke knew that he wasn’t badly injured.

Since the beginning, Chen Ke had been feeling that something was strange about Lu Ye’s actions. Suddenly, he realised what was going on. “Are you messing with me?”

He was flabbergasted deep within. His opponent was stronger than he was, which was why everything was well within Lu Ye’s control.

It was inconceivable to him that a difference of four Minor Realms had meant nothing. [What kind of a freak is he?]

He had to take the battle seriously, so he quickly fished out a Spirit Pill and stuffed it into his mouth. After gulping it down, he activated his Spiritual Power and refined it.

Naturally, he didn’t take a Spirit Pill at this point to heal his injury. Instead, he wanted to maximise his potential. He could feel that he would be doomed if this dragged on. Therefore, even though the Spirit Pill was costly and would leave him with serious repercussions, he still had to take it.

Once the Deathmatch Platform was activated, only one of them could go out alive. During this period, no one could interfere in this. If he wanted to stay alive, he had to do his best to kill his opponent.

Lu Ye only looked dispassionately at him without trying to stop him. This made Chen Ke feel increasingly uneasy.

Three breaths of time later, the Spiritual Light around Chen Ke brightened. His Spiritual Power seemed to be boiling as his aura surged. When he felt the immense power within him, he became slightly at ease.

“You know…” Lu Ye suddenly said and lifted his Inviolable Saber. His aura seemed to be calm.

On the other hand, Chen Ke was alarmed. When he sensed Lu Ye’s aura, he felt as if he could never fend off his next move.

He knew it wasn’t the best chance to make a move, but he couldn’t suppress his fear.

If this dragged on, he wouldn’t even have the courage to launch an attack. The next second, he infused all his power into the spear. He seemed to have become one with his weapon as he turned into a ray of light.

With the help of the Spirit Pill he had just consumed, it was the most powerful attack he had cast in his life. Although he had no idea if he could kill the opponent, he knew that he would get killed if the attack failed. Soon enough, the two of them were about to come into contact.

“If I wanted to kill you…”

Lu Ye extended his saber. At that instant, Chen Ke’s pupils dilated as Stars rose from behind Lu Ye. He could see nothing else but the countless Stars, which descended and engulfed him. Every Starlight was a Saber Light.

At the same time, a strange force penetrated his head, causing a sharp pain in his mind. His Spiritual Power was no longer under his control and the attack he had exerted himself to cast felt weak.

Following the exchange of moves, Lu Ye stood stably as he lifted the Inviolable Saber and put it back into the sheath.

“I could’ve done so with only one move.”

Several metres behind him, Chen Ke was still holding his spear, but he was rooted to the spot as though he had been bound.

His face was pale, and his hideous expression showed that he was enduring some pain. His entire figure was trembling slightly.

As soon as Lu Ye finished speaking, small streams of blood spurted out of Chen Ke’s entire body. His heart was most severely wounded.

“Divine Ego…” Chen Ke muttered under his breath. His spear dropped as he fell to the ground. Following his demise, the pocket dimension of the Deathmatch Platform turned illusory as well.

In the hall, Xiao Xinghe waited anxiously. All of a sudden, the Void started contorting as a figure stood in the spot where the Deathmatch Platform had disappeared.

They turned to look in that direction. Xiao Xinghe’s eyes were bloodshot as he was worried he would see an undesirable outcome. On the other hand, Liu Yuemei’s expression was a mixture of madness and gratification as she was ready for the good thing to come.

But soon, her joy turned into shock as the figure that was about to appear didn’t look like Chen Ke. Instead, it looked like Lu Ye.

A moment later, the figure solidified as a blood-soaked Lu Ye appeared in the hall. He panted and looked at the worried and shocked Xiao Xinghe before putting on a smile. “I won.”

With a crack, the table in front of Liu Yuemei fell apart.
