Chapter 1081, Canine Insectoids

Even though there were innumerable insectoids, only those Divine Ocean Realm insectoids would pose a huge threat to the defence line of the Pass. He was on his own, after all. Even though he was wearing the Dragon Throne, he couldn’t possibly kill all of these insectoids. As such, he had to kill the most powerful insectoids so that those from the Pass would face less pressure.

 

He especially had to deal with the more than ten canine insectoids he had come across upon his arrival. If he couldn’t destroy them, it would be pointless regardless of how many insectoids he killed.

 

In a battle like this, defence became meaningless because the Dragon Throne was always attacked from all directions. He couldn’t defend himself even if he wanted to.

They were none other than the canine insectoids.

Just then, some ferocious auras appeared behind him as well as on each side of him. With other insectoids as a cover-up, more canine insectoids revealed themselves and besieged Lu Ye, flaring up at the same time.

 

Lu Ye was shocked, discovering that these canine insectoids were different from other insectoids. Not only could they collaborate, but they would also conceal themselves before flaring up.

 

In a dazed state, Lu Ye felt as if he had been besieged by a pack of wolves. They were more like wolf insectoids, not canine insectoids.

Any other insectoid would’ve been destroyed by the attack. However, these canine insectoids apparently had a much stronger defence. It wasn’t instantly killed by the Dragon Spine Saber.

 

Lu Ye madly infused his Spiritual Power into the saber and growled. At the same time, he pressed the weapon further down.

 

The unpleasant sound of friction was heard. The canine insectoid groaned in pain as its mouth squirmed. Emerald blood streamed out of its wound. When the sturdy shell was finally broken through, its small figure was cut in half.

 

Soon enough, all its vitality was gone.

 

Lu Ye wasn’t elated just because he had killed a canine insectoid as ferocious auras were inching closer to him from all directions.

 

The sounds of these canine insectoids crashing into the Dragon Throne were heard. They climbed onto the Dragon Throne like ants and fiercely bit different parts of it with their sharp teeth.

 

Lu Ye felt his heritage leaving him rapidly like a flood. Even the Dragon Throne started creaking.

 

He lifted his hand to pull away a canine insectoid from his right arm. The Dragon Spine Saber penetrated right into its squirming mouth.

 

The canine insectoid realised it was in danger, so it was resisting fiercely. However, Lu Ye would never let it struggle out of his grip.

 

The huge saber entered the canine insectoid through its mouth and stuck out from the back. Then, Lu Ye cut the enemy in half.

 

Following that, he extended his hand towards another canine insectoid. Much to his surprise, he failed to do that. When these canine insectoids saw their companion’s suffering, they moved backwards.

 

They seemed to understand that they couldn’t be captured by Lu Ye. Otherwise, they would be doomed.

 

Donning a solemn expression, Lu Ye finally discovered that these canine insectoids were more intelligent than the ordinary ones.

 

It was a wonder if every great insectoid was like this or if only these canine insectoids had this capability. Anyway, they were indeed different from an average insectoid.

Although the worms were horrifying, their biggest weakness was that they couldn’t fly. They only moved around on the ground. Therefore, he never paid any attention to them.

 

However, that didn’t mean they couldn’t deal with enemies in the sky. Since they were gigantic, they could straighten their figures in an instant and swallow enemies in the sky with their mouths.

 

That was how Lu Ye was swallowed. Besides him, many insectoids around him had also been devoured.

The scorching power burned everything as sizzling sounds were continuously heard. Soon, a hole formed in the worm’s stomach. After breaking free, the Fire Phoenix expanded its wings. A colossal being with a pair of wings the length of several dozen metres emerged.

 

If someone else saw this, he would see that the Dragon Throne seemed to have grown a pair of wings.

 

Lu Ye dragged the saber across the worm’s stomach and formed a cut. Then, he shot upwards, after which the worm’s organs fell out of its body.

 

After he shot into the sky to slaughter the enemies, the worm whose stomach had been cut open struggled madly on the ground before its death.

 

In the Pass, the Wards were humming as the cultivators worked together to fend off the insectoids’ series of attacks. All of them collaborated to achieve the same goal. The Ward Cultivators and artificers went around the walls to repair the worn-out Wards and replace the Spirit Artifacts and Spirit Treasures in the Ward Nodes.
