No cultivators were around when Lu Ye left the chasm.

Only Divine Ocean Realm Masters had the right to guard a chasm. Moreover, they had to be in the Third Order at the very least. That was because only cultivators like them had a chance to flee when coming across great insectoids.

If Real Lake Realm Masters were asked to guard a chasm, they wouldn’t be able to run away when great insectoids emerged. They would surely lose their lives.

Hence, even though there were many Divine Ocean Realm Masters in Jiu Zhou, not every chasm was guarded by Divine Ocean Realm Masters. They would only deploy Divine Ocean Realm Masters to the larger chasms. A small chasm like this one was usually left unattended.

    This couldn’t be helped.

Lu Ye fished out a ten-point map to ascertain his location. He was relieved that he didn’t appear in Thousand Demon Ridge’s territory. He was still in Bing Zhou.

His current location wasn’t far away from Grand Sky City. Given his speed, it would only take him fewer than two hours to arrive.

He identified the direction and flew towards Grand Sky City while sending Tang Yi Feng a message.

He had gathered a lot of useful information following his trip to the Insectoid Great Hidden Realm, so he had to report it to Tang Yi Feng. As far as he was concerned, Tang Yi Feng was responsible for exploring the chasms. In the past few years, he had entered the chasms and barged into the insectoid passageways more than a hundred times, but his attempts were always futile.

Soon, Tang Yi Feng replied to him, saying that he wasn’t in Grand Sky City. Instead, he was dealing with some great insectoids which had run away from the chasm. Anyway, the battle was coming to an end.

‘Wait for me in Grand Sky City.’ Tang Yi Feng had no idea what Lu Ye was up to, but he knew that Lu Ye wouldn’t contact him unless there was an important matter.

Upon receiving the order, Lu Ye continued flying towards Grand Sky City.

He entered the city two hours later. Instead of returning to his place, he went to Tang Yi Feng’s residence and waited patiently.

Another hour later, a ray of light flew into the city and landed in the courtyard, after which Tang Yi Feng’s figure was revealed.

Lu Ye stepped forward and saluted him. “Sect Master.”

Tang Yi Feng ran his fingers through his beard and looked at him gratifiedly. He couldn’t help but think that time went by very quickly. The disciple he had accidentally accepted in the past had grown to be so powerful now. Lu Ye was the disciple who had increased his power the fastest since the founding of the Crimson Blood Sect. It could even be said that no one was comparable to him throughout the history of Jiu Zhou.

Some of his special experiences were bizarre even to a long-time Divine Ocean Realm Master like Tang Yi Feng.

It was said that a hero was born in a time of chaos. Given the current situation, Lu Ye’s rapid rise to prominence must be signalling something.

Tang Yi Feng was more powerful and authoritative, so he could see and realise things that Lu Ye couldn’t.

The two of them entered the house, after which Lu Ye skillfully fished out a tea set and started preparing tea.

Only then did Tang Yi Feng ask, “How’s everything at the Pass?”

“We’re doing well.” Lu Ye nodded. His Soul Clone was in charge of the chasm. Cultivators of the two Passes worked well together. Whenever insectoids crawled out of the chasm, they would be destroyed immediately. There were two occasions when great insectoids emerged, but before they could kick up a storm, they were killed by a storm of attacks.

This was the benefit of deploying soldiers to a chasm. They could immediately destroy insectoids that were difficult to deal with. In the past, if the great insectoids left the chasm, Divine Ocean Realm Masters would have to exert themselves to run after them.

“Did anyone find fault with you?” Tang Yi Feng asked.

“No. I’m an honest person who doesn’t offend anyone. Why would anyone find fault with me?”

Tang Yi Feng felt his eyelids twitching.

There were many doubts regarding Liu Yuemei’s death.

After all, she was a powerful Seventh-Order Divine Ocean Realm Master, so it was strange that she was dead all of a sudden. Even if she had come across an opponent or insectoid she couldn’t defeat, she could have sent a message to someone before her death at the very least.

But the truth was that no one received any news before Liu Yuemei’s death. That was the biggest doubt everyone had.

As for whether Lu Ye was the one who had killed the woman, Tang Yi Feng had no idea and wouldn’t ask him about it.

It was undeniable that Lu Ye showed up near Surging Waves Lake Pass following Liu Yuemei’s death, and both Lu Ye and Li Taibai had some grudges against the woman. It was also true that the Two Geniuses of Bing Zhou could collaborate perfectly.

Since they could join forces to destroy several great insectoids, they might be able to kill Liu Yuemei as well. As for how they could make sure Liu Yuemei couldn’t even send a message to anyone, no one had the answer.

Certainly, from Tang Yi Feng’s perspective, he didn’t care that the woman was dead. She was a terrible person, after all. That was why he immediately sent a message to Nian Yuexian, asking her to give Yu Huajin a warning. Much to his surprise, Nian Yuexian almost killed Yu Huajin.

Tang Yi Feng didn’t find it necessary to tell Lu Ye about it to prevent even more trouble.

“Since you’re a Pass Leader now, you’re supposed to stay in your Pass. Moreover, you’re responsible for making Explosive Fire Spirit Stones and ward nexuses. Presently, the ward nexuses are prevalent in Bing Zhou, but the other eight Zhous need the items as well. The Grand Sky Coalition is a whole entity, so we have to share the good things among ourselves. Pang Zhen has been facing a lot of pressure lately. Since you have the power now, you should help share the Coalition’s burden.”

“Yes,” Lu Ye replied respectfully. “That’s why I went to explore the depths of the chasm the other day.”

Tang Yi Feng suddenly coughed loudly, almost choking on the tea. He put down the teacup and chastised him with a long face. “What were you thinking? The depths of the chasm are dangerous. Even I wouldn’t dare to go too deep into the chasm. How could you do things recklessly?”

Feeling that he was too harsh, Tang Yi Feng spoke in a milder tone. “Yi Ye, you’re still young and have a bright future. Don’t go venturing into dangerous places. Old people like us will explore the depths of the chasms. You’d better not go there again.”

Lu Ye obliged and nodded repeatedly.

Tang Yi Feng knew Lu Ye didn’t take his advice seriously when he saw his expression. Anyway, if Lu Ye were an obedient disciple who heeded the advice of old people, he wouldn’t have attained such achievements.

Cultivators were never content with their lot. The more capable ones were even more adventurous.

“Have you found anything useful?” Tang Yi Feng asked lightly.

Lu Ye quickly took out some Image Stones and passed them to the older man. “I’ve indeed found something. Please have a look.”

Tang Yi Feng took them and randomly picked up one before sinking his Divine Soul into it.

He didn’t think he would see anything surprising. After all, Lu Ye wasn’t as powerful as other Divine Ocean Realm Masters at the peak. Even though he had entered the depths of the chasm, he probably couldn’t find anything useful. However, since he had risked his life to bring back this stuff, Tang Yi Feng naturally had to take a look.

The moment he saw the images in the stones, his expression changed as he straightened his back.

That was because he had never seen those shocking images before.

He could see innumerable insectoids, insectoid nests that looked like mounds, and oval portals that radiated a glow. All of these images had a huge psychological impact on him.

Shocked and doubtful, he lifted his head to glance at Lu Ye. “Yi Ye, these are…”

With a solemn expression, Lu Ye replied, “I call it the Insectoid Great Hidden Realm. These images come from that place.”

    “The Insectoid Great Hidden Realm?”

“Yes.” Lu Ye dipped his head.

Tang Yi Feng was in a state of disbelief. “Did you… find the source of the insectoid plague? How did you do that?”

In the past few years, he had been exploring the chasms in an attempt to find the source of the insectoid plague, but all of his attempts failed. That was because the deeper he went, the more his cultivation was suppressed. When he came across powerful insectoids, he could only avoid them. Much to his surprise, Lu Ye had achieved something he couldn’t.

He and other old people who had been exploring the chasms in different parts of Jiu Zhou were not comparable to Lu Ye in this regard. He wasn’t jealous, though. He was glad that his disciple had achieved what others couldn’t.

Since Lu Ye could do that, others could learn from him. If the method could be spread widely, they would be able to solve the insectoid plague.

Lu Ye explained, “I have a special way of enslaving insectoids, so I did that to an insectoid in the Divine Ocean Realm and hid on its back, letting it bring me to the end of the insectoid passageway. You know that I’m a Glyphweaver, so I blessed myself with some Glyphs to conceal my presence and restrict my aura. I also covered up my smell with insectoid blood. Luckily for me, I didn’t come across any danger throughout the journey.”

Tang Yi Feng instantly knew no one else could use Lu Ye’s method.

People who were responsible for exploring the chasms were divided into three factions.

They were Body-tempering Cultivators, Ghost Cultivators, and Beastmasters.

Everyone knew that Body-tempering Cultivators had sturdy bodies. The influence of Yuan Metal Force Field would cause a cultivator’s Spiritual Power to be sluggish. Given their advantage, Body-tempering Cultivators could hold on for a longer time in the depths beneath the ground. On the other hand, Spell Cultivators couldn’t do the same as their lives would be at risk.

As for Ghost Cultivators, even though they didn’t have strong bodies like Body-tempering Cultivators, they were good at concealing themselves and could do things stealthily. But it depended on their luck because sometimes the insectoid passageways were narrow. Once they bumped into insectoids, they would be at risk of getting exposed.

Beastmasters could drive the insectoids to explore the chasms. However, they were usually weak, so they could hardly protect themselves in the insectoid passageways. Also, the way they enslaved the insectoids wasn’t so effective, so they couldn’t make the insectoids obey all of their orders.

On the other hand, Lu Ye could combine the strengths of Beastmasters and Ghost Cultivators, so no one else could do the same.

Some Ghost Cultivators and Beastmasters tried to collaborate and did things like Lu Ye. However, once the enslaved insectoids were too far away from their Masters, they would no longer be controlled, and the Ghost Cultivators’ lives would be at risk.

“I saw a portal at the end of the insectoid passageway, and behind it was the Insectoid Great Hidden Realm.”

As Lu Ye spoke, Tang Yi Feng quickly went through the other Image Stones. A strong cultivator like him could do different things at the same time.

Although it had taken Lu Ye several days to capture the images in the stones, Tang Yi Feng only needed a brief moment to have a look at everything using his Divine Ego.

What he had seen was beyond him.

Initially, everyone in Jiu Zhou thought there was a gigantic insectoid nest in the depths beneath the ground, and the insectoid nest was the source of the insectoid plague.

Now, that didn’t seem to be the case. Things were more serious than they had imagined.
