“Greetings, Saintess.” Although Chu Gucheng was vexed about the fact that the Primary Hope Saintess had repeatedly turned him down, he would not be mannerless at this point, nor would he show his true emotions. He put on a smile and cupped his fists to salute her back.

“You don’t have to be overly formal with me, Saintess.” Elder Jin replied with a smile. Although he was her Senior, he might not be a match for her, considering his current strength. As such, he would not act like a Senior in front of her.

The Primary Hope Saintess nodded without a word. She led them into the Primary Hope Holy Church. While on their way, she asked Elder Jin about his purpose for visiting her.

Elder Jin sighed and said that he was concerned about the wisp of black haze that appeared out of nowhere. He was worried that the past incident might happen again.

Since it was Chu Gucheng’s birthday, he decided to come to the Primary Hope Civilisation and talk to her about what to do next.

After all, the Primary Hope Saintess’ Master was not in the Primary Hope Holy Church now. If the Black Disaster broke out in the Primary Hope Civilisation again, The Primary Hope Saintess would have to suppress it.

The Primary Hope Saintess was moved by Elder Jin’s actions. Then, she shook her head and explained to him that she had used the Mirror of Reincarnation to look into the future of the Primary Hope Civilisation. They would not be affected by that black haze.

Elder Jin understood the abstrusity of the Mirror of Reincarnation. He could not help but think that, of all the Civilisation Supreme Treasures, the Mirror of Reincarnation was the best.

After all, it was a first-generation Civilisation Supreme Treasure. The copies of it produced at a later time were not at all comparable to it.

Still, at the mentioned of the Mirror of Reincarnation, he felt somewhat sorrowful. Those Last Stage experts who had sealed the Black Disaster’s source back then were nowhere to be found now. Perhaps, they were all dead?

Most cultivators had probably forgotten about the time when the living were shrouded in darkness and fear.

Every being in the Boundless Expanse, the Black Disaster was an incident that happened in the distant past. After so many epochs, the Black Disaster was no different from an ancient legend to ordinary cultivators.

When the Boundless Expanse was born, it was a chaotic time. It was called the Primordial Era when the Primordial Races and Primordial Gods existed.

Then, it was followed by the Classical, Primeval, and Legendary Eras, and so on.

It was merely a brief outline of the eras. Even scholars who studied the ancient history of the Boundless Expanse were not certain how many eras there were in the past.

In even older times, there were strangely named eras such as the Celestial Burial Era, the Dao Destruction Era, and so on.

Every era spanned a long time and included many epochs. The Black Disaster Era was what Elder Jin and the others called it when the Black Disaster devastated the Boundless Expanse. Some people called it the Black Haze Era.

That was because the disaster started from a wisp of black haze, which was born because of the Master of the Black Disaster, who went on to devastate many worlds.

The Primary Hope Saintess could not relate to Elder Jin’s feelings. When Chu Gucheng deliberately mentioned that he did not get to see her during his past visits, she apologised to him.

She said that she was at the most critical moment of her secluded cultivation, so she did not want to meet any guests. Since Elder Jin’s identity was special and he was friends with her Master, she had no choice but to stop her secluded cultivation and meet him.

Chu Gucheng only smiled in response to the Primary Hope Saintess’ explanation, but he secretly sneered, not believing her at all. Anyway, he would not harp on this issue at this point.

With Elder Jin by his side, he could seize the chance to borrow the Mirror of Reincarnation. He wanted to know what The Primary Hope Saintess had to say.

As long as he had the Mirror of Reincarnation’s help, the current crisis the Land of Celestial Suffering was facing would be solved.

The Primary Hope Saintess was aware of Chu Gucheng’s intention, but she needed to use the Mirror of Reincarnation as well. She was exploring the possibility of improving her relationship with the unknown enemy surnamed Gu in her future.

Naturally, she would not lend the Mirror of Reincarnation to Chu Gucheng. What was more, the fall of Land of Celestial Suffering was already predetermined.

If she interfered in this matter, all her effort spent on the Mirror of Reincarnation during this period would go down the drain.

Meanwhile, in an ancient and splendid hall in the Imperial Celestial Palace stood some towering and blurred figures. Stars, the Sun, and the Moon whirled around them and clashed.

The Fragments of Great Dao intertwined with each other. Celestial Mist and Chaos Mist permeated the place. It was as though this place had been around since the dawn of time.

Many Elders were bringing their Disciples back from different Practice Grounds upon receiving the order. They were coming to this place.

Presently, the Palace Master of the Imperial Celestial Palace, Ling Qiuchang, was in the hall as well.

He was elegant and slim, and his eyes appeared shrewd. He looked like he was in his forties. He was clad in a silky white robe, and his sleeves were embroidered with the patterns of clouds and mountains. The secrets of Heaven and Earth seemed to be flowing around his clothes.

The figures before him were the Elders and their Disciples who had returned from different Practice Grounds of the Imperial Celestial Palace upon receiving Ling Qiuchang’s order.

There were a total of 36 Practice Grounds, but not every Practice Ground was guarded by an Elder in the True Dao Realm. Even during their most glorious days of the past, this was something impossible to fulfil.

The powers of these Elders varied, but even the weakest were in the Dao Realm. Naturally, each one had been alive for a long time, and held onto their posts. However, many were stuck in the Dao Realm, unable to overcome their Fourth Decay Tribulation.

The hall was spacious and silent. Since no one uttered a word, the atmosphere was solemn.

Ling Qiuchang looked out of the hall from time to time. He seemed serious and worried.

“How many Elders are still on their way?” He asked the Disciple beside him.

“Palace Master, a total of 24 Elders have arrived, and the rest are on their way,” the Disciple replied respectfully.

Ling Qiuchang nodded and paced around the hall in silence.

Upon seeing that, the Elders appeared perplexed. They had no idea why the Palace Master donned such an expression. He had not told them what had happened. As he seemed anxious, they wondered what was going on.

Since he never explained anything, they would not ask him any questions.

Meanwhile, many young Disciples stole glances at the slender figure on the other end of the hall. They were awestruck.

The woman was clad in a soft-armoured battle dress and a scarlet cloak. Her eyes were shrewd, and her skin was as fair as snow. Her hair was tied with a black band, which revealed her perfect neckline.

Besides a small waist, she also had a pair of long, straight legs. She looked valiant and formidable.

She was the most brilliant prodigy among her peers at the Imperial Celestial Palace. Her existence was like an enormous mountain that towered above her peers.
