At that moment, many ancient beings who lived reclusively in the Boundless Expanse were shocked. They felt a silver light flying across the depths of their Knowledge Sea, making the space as bright as daytime.

It was as though an unimaginable living being whose power was inscrutable opened his eyes and swept a glance over them.

The silver light penetrated the entire Boundless Expanse. The gaze that was able to see through all of Spacetime, turning the Boundless Expanse into a virtual existence that could be read in an instant.

Certainly, the silver light that passed through the minds of countless beings soon disappeared. Their Knowledge Sea became dead silent like the bottom of an ocean once again.

“What was that?” Many ancient beings were still reeling from the shock. They could hardly conceal their fear.

“Did a being from the Land of Truth open his eyes and sweep a glance over the Boundless Expanse?” Many beings hiding in the depths of Boundless Expanse were fearful. They felt that a drastic change was going to happen in the Boundless Expanse.

Or, was an unimaginable calamity about to befall them.

At that moment, ancient beings from different Spacetimes started making deductions. They either fled from their places or came up with strategies to deal with it.

In an area outside the Boundless Expanse, there was a beautiful mountain range which was surrounded by purple clouds and Divine Light.

There was also an emerald lake. All the beasts, insects, and fish were mystical. The trees, flowers, and grass were beautiful and ancient. Even the weeds on the rocks radiated a celestial glow.

“Senior Brother Bai Mei has been in captivity for a long time, but the Old Master has never cared about it.”

“Senior Sister Xing Ying has been recuperating since her return. Although the Old Master has never blamed her, it’s apparent that she feels guilty.”

“I wonder who the Master of Heavenslayers Alliance is. When Senior Sister Xing Ying brought up this matter, it was the first time I saw a change of emotions on the Old Master’s face.”

On the highest purple peak, there was a massive cave. Two people, a boy and a girl, who were more than ten years old, stood on both sides of the entrance. They were conversing in small voices.

Although they looked young, they exuded some ancient auras. They also had some exotic features like scales and horns.

In the distance, there was a green stone tablet that was several metres tall.

The words ‘Ardent Ruins Cave’ were inscribed on it. They were beautifully engraved and radiated a divine light, in which all sorts of Daos were enacted.

As these two people spoke, the mist at the entrance suddenly dissipated. A light that carried a pleasant fragrance appeared. There was a golden ancient scroll in it as it hovered in front of these two people.

“Pu’er, take this scroll to your Third Senior Brother and tell him to go to the Main Happiness Palace.”

A gentle and neutral-sounding voice was heard coming from the cave.

    “Yes, Old Master.”

One of these people promptly knelt and respectfully kept the golden scroll. Then, she turned into a Phoenix and disappeared into the distance.

“Ti’er, you’ll look for Xing Ying and tell her to go to the Primary Hope Civilisation. We have to find out if the time had come, and the Black Disaster has truly arrived once more.” The gentle voice was heard again.

“Yes, Old Master,” the other person replied respectfully. Then, he turned into a Dragon and left the place.

It was soon quiet again outside Ardent Ruins Cave. A moment later, a long sigh was heard coming from the cave.

[After Chu Gucheng’s death, all my arrangements in the Primary Hope Civilisation have gone to waste. Did the Will I felt just now have anything to do with the Source of the Black Disaster? I hope my speculation is wrong. Regardless, I’ll stop at nothing to achieve my goal in this life. Nothing can stop me.]

Following the sigh, Ardent Ruins Cave became dead silent again. The mountains were full of light, which made it look like a celestial place.

Meanwhile, under the dark and misty sky, there were mountain ranges, flatlands, valleys, and mounds, forming all sorts of natural terrains.

There were dark volcanoes, frozen lands, and squirming swamps as well.

This was a world where there were no laws, no shapes, and no desires. It alternated between tangible and virtual every moment. All sorts of terrains were born and destroyed while they were existent. It was difficult to tell which Spacetime they were from.

Perhaps they were from yesterday or tomorrow or countless years ago.

On top of the most magnificent mountain range was an enormous dark palace, which was surrounded by buildings such as altars and forts.

The palace extended into the sky. It was as though it had been around since the creation of Heaven and Earth. No one could see it clearly since it was vague.

Sounds could be heard reverberating across the place at every moment. There seemed to be a figure who was surrounded by sacred light.

Just then, a blood light appeared from the dark palace and shot into the sky, shattering it. The blood light then formed a blood altar.

Around the altar were pillars that extended into the sky. It was a wonder what they were made of.

Every pillar was engraved with ancient runes. There were pictures of mountains, lakes, insects, birds, beasts, and grass. True Dragons were fixed to the pillars from their tails to their heads. They howled and seemed ready to soar into the sky. There were several thousands of them. Every one of them was massive and horrifying. Even their scales were as large as mountains.

As the blood altar appeared and grew larger, the pillars also trembled. All the True Dragons awakened and Chaos Particles surged.

Such a scene was horrifying. The whole world trembled. An ancient coffin was revealed. On the blood altar, its lid was slightly opened as terrifying Mist of Chaos exuded from it.

The image of a floating coffin was reflected through the blood altar. Countless red substances surged as the wisps of appalling auras descended. They could destroy all the tangible and intangible substances.

The blood altar extended into the sky. A thick Aura of Darkness fell from the sky like a waterfall. From afar, it looked like the Heavenly River had burst as it streamed in all directions.

All the beings around were astonished. They respectfully knelt and pressed their heads against the ground in that direction. Their gazes were fervent. It was as though a supreme being was asleep in the coffin.

    “What’s going on?”

“Why is the World Burying Coffin showing an anomaly all of a sudden? Is it awakening?”

“The World Burying Coffin is trembling from the inside!”

“I knew the all-mighty Master couldn’t be killed so easily! This is a sign that he’s about to return!”

Countless people knelt around the blood altar. They looked like an endless dark tide as they were everywhere.

Voices of cheerfulness and excitement reverberated across the place. All of them were fervent.

“The World Burying Coffin wouldn’t awaken for no reason. Something must have happened.”

“The Lady isn’t in the Nightmare Demon Realm, and the High Priests have never approached it. It must have detected Master’s Will that is about to return, so it’s fearful. It’s afraid that the day is soon approaching.”

All sorts of speculation were formed as they were thrilled beyond belief.

Darkness, close to liquid, fell from the blood altar and drowned them like waves. Living beings in the outside world were terrified of the Aura of Darkness, but these people here were excited. It was as though they were basking in the sunshine. It felt comfortable for them.

Such a terrifying scene disappeared as quickly as it had appeared in the sky. The blood altar and the coffin vanished as well. It was as though they had sunk into the palace.

“The World Burying Coffin hasn’t reacted like this for a long time. The last time it happened, a Great Sage had taken a huge risk to steal it…”

Suddenly, a path was formed among the crowd. A person wearing a ghost-patterned mask in dark clothes came over. His hair was unkempt, and there was a strange-looking sabre at his waist.

The people around him were fearful, so they took the initiative to step aside so that he could go near the mountain range.

Suddenly, someone was heard coughing, disrupting the person who was speaking.

“We’d better be careful with our words. This matter should not be brought up in the Nightmare Demon Realm. Although the Lady isn’t around, she’ll be displeased if she learns of it.”

An old woman with a hunched back and a wrinkled face came over while holding a crutch. She was clad in a dark gold cloak. Although she would cough from time to time when she spoke, her eyes were not turbid at all. Instead, they radiated an intimidating glow.

“Why would I worry when you are around, Priestess Feng Cang? The Lady won’t find out about this.” The person with a sabre put on a meaningful smile.

“Chu Shuang, since you’re in the Nightmare Demon Realm, you have to abide by the rules. Although High Priestess Li Shuang thinks highly of you, you can’t act recklessly. All the High Priests acknowledge the identity of the Lady. You don’t have a right to spout nonsense here.” The old woman named Feng Cang squinted her eyes and pressed her crutch against the ground. Her tone suddenly turned stern.

“Well, I’m not spouting nonsense. You’re overthinking it, Priestess Feng Cang.” The person named Chu Shuang smiled nonchalantly and shrugged. He grabbed the sabre at his waist as though he would pull it out at any moment. A penetrating aura started exuding from him.

The people around him, regardless of their cultivation realm, dare not say anything.

Although the rules were strict in the Nightmare Demon Realm, the two of them were beings they could not afford to offend. The Priests and Priestesses all worked directly under the High Priests or High Priestess, and they could kill anyone as they pleased. They were inscrutable.

Chu Shuang was the trusted aide of a High Priestess and had a terrifying strength. He was not inferior to any Priest or Priestess.

In the past, they would not even have a chance to meet any one of them, let alone encounter a situation like this.

That said, it was not a secret in the Nightmare Demon Realm that there were feuds between the higher-ups.

“If you want to quarrel, go somewhere else and fight it out. This is a sacred place where Master is worshipped. Only serenity is accepted here.” Suddenly, an emotionless voice was heard speaking slowly. A black mist the shape of a Human appeared.

The mist was surrounded by dots of blue lights, which made it impossible for them to make out the face and figure of the person. The mist had appeared out of thin air without any fluctuations or aura. The moment these people saw the mist, they lowered their heads with respect.

“There’s nothing serious going on, Grand Priestess Wu Yue…”

The smile faded from Chu Shuang’s face. Behind his ghost-patterned face mask, his face was pale and his voice was shaky. He quickly saluted the person. “Greetings, Grand Priestess Wu Yue.”

The old woman named Feng Cang had also turned livid. Her crutch-holding hand was trembling as she said nervously, “Greetings, Grand Priestess. I didn’t mean to argue with Chu Shuang. Please forgive me…”

She never expected that the Grand Priestess, who hadn’t shown up for a long time, would suddenly come to this place.

Even the other High Priests had to be respectful of this Grand Priestess.

The High Priest behind her had to respect Grand Priestess Wu Yue as well.

“This place is where Master is worshipped. No arguments are allowed here.” The voice was still heard speaking slowly from the mist, but it was tinged with iciness now.

Chu Shuang and Feng Cang trembled in fear. When they recalled the rumours about the Grand Priestess, their faces paled.

“Please forgive us, Grand Priestess. We didn’t mean to offend our great Master. Our loyalty to him has never changed.”

    “Please forgive us, Grand Priestess.”

“I won’t kill you, but there’s needs to be punishment. I don’t want to see any dust in front of Heaven’s Proxy Group Temple.”

In the black mist, the Grand Priestess’ voice was as indifferent as ever. Then, she waved her hand as two wisps of mist landed on Chu Shuang and Feng Cang like flames.

They were fearful, but they would not dare to avoid the mist. They shrieked in pain. As everyone watched in horror, they respectively turned into a dog and a chicken.

“Your appearances will be restored when the front of our Temple is spotless,” said the Grand Priestess impassively.

When the other Priests and High Priests arrived and saw this, they were astounded as their pupils dilated.

The Grand Priestess ignored all of them. She walked towards the magnificent mountain range and entered the splendid hall.

“There’s a strange reaction from the World Burying Coffin. I can finally hear your voice again. Master, are you about to return? I’ve been waiting for you for ages…”
