The news that the Black Disaster was returning soon spread across the Boundless Expanse. Everyone were flabbergasted.

Many Realms were invaded by the black mist in just a few days. No living beings could flee from this fate and they got buried in the darkness.

Star Territories quickly dimmed and descended into eternal darkness.

The black mist was still quickly spreading in all directions. Even powerful Dao Realm experts could not stop it.

Some dark mist started exuding from some Civilisations and True Worlds as it passed through the Spacetime Rifts and spread across different worlds and universes to invade those Star Territories.

The black mist could penetrate anywhere as it pleased.

Some cultivators discovered in shock that their Knowledge Seas had been contaminated. The black mist traversed across Spacetimes and entered their Knowledge Seas to control their Will in a way they did not understand. It was inconceivable.

Such scenes were happening everywhere. People from different Races and Civilisations were fearful. They felt that there was no longer any safe place in the Boundless Expanse. Regardless of where they were, they would be devoured by the black mist.

Some Supreme True Worlds and Supreme Civilisations immediately set their differences aside to collaborate in an attempt to stop the Black Disaster.

The entire Boundless Expanse descended into an upheaval.

The appearance of the black mist caught everyone off guard. Other than the people from a small number of Supreme Civilisations, who had expected it and come up with multiple plans, many other Forces did not have a way to fend it off.

They could only abandon some of their territories and lean closer to the centre of Boundless Expanse.

In the Primary Hope Civilisation, all the Forces were aware that the remnants of the Black Disaster had returned to the Boundless Expanse. It was shocking news.

The other Supreme Civilisations such as the Rising Dawn Civilisation, Radiant Yang True World, and the Ephemeral Yin True World immediately sent messages to the Primary Hope Civilisation.

The Founder of the Primary Hope Holy Church, Xi Nu, was one of the Great Sages who had gone against the Black Disaster. She even used to own one of the six First-Generation Civilisation Supreme Treasures, the Mirror of Reincarnation.

Therefore, nearby Supreme Civilisations wanted to know if those from the Primary Hope Civilisation had a way to deal with the Black Disaster.

Countless years had passed since the Black Disaster struck previously. During this period, many Civilisations and Kingdoms had fallen. There were also those which had withstood numerous Great Purges.

However, rarely any True World had experienced the Black Disaster like the Primary Hope Civilisation. They had never faced the Black Disaster before, so how were they supposed to come up with a solution? Moreover, whenever remnants of the Black Disaster showed up in the past, they would be destroyed by the Primary Hope Holy Church.

The Primary Hope Saintess had led various Forces in the Primary Hope Civilisation to destroy the remnants of the Black Disaster, so she had some experience in this regard.

At this point, the nearby Supreme Civilisations pinned their hopes on the Primary Hope Civilisation. Despite the it having experienced a huge turmoil.

[Why has the Black Disaster suddenly returned? It just happened without any warning. The fact that the remnants of the Black Disaster have shown up at this point isn’t a coincidence. I’m worried worse things will come. There might be a bigger storm waiting for us.]

Ling Yuling was seated in the courtyard. She frowned and turned to look at Gu Changge, who was still calmly sipping tea. She was slightly doubtful.

When Gu Changge learned that the Black Disaster had returned, he only appeared slightly surprised. However, he was not shocked or worried.

“The Boundless Expanse is vast. It’ll take the Black Disaster a long time to reach the Primary Hope Civilisation. We don’t have to worry about it because other experts will deal with it. Moreover, wasn’t the Black Disaster stopped once? Even if they have returned, they might not be as ferocious as before. Since the Black Disaster cannot be completely destroyed, it’ll certainly return. In that case, why should we be anxious?”

A bored Mu Yan propped up her chin with her palms as she was seated by the table. She looked at Yao Yao, who was practising a breathing technique Gu Changge had just taught her.

“What you said is not wrong, but that’s because you’ve never experienced the Black Disaster, so you don’t know how horrifying it is. In the past, when it struck, it caused the most despairing and turbulent period.”

Ling Yuling shook her head, feeling that Mu Yan was a little naive. She had no idea how terrifying the Black Disaster was. She was fearless because she was ignorant.

Mu Yan rolled her eyes. “Senior, since you’re so worried, why don’t you come up with a way to stop the Black Disaster?”

When she learned that Ling Yuling had slept with Gu Changge before she did, she was displeased with her. Before that, she had even put in a good word for her in front of Gu Changge.

Ling Yuling was speechless after getting refuted. If she had a way to deal with the Black Disaster, she would not have ended up this way.

“What’s the Black Disaster, Master?” On the other hand, Yao Yao batted her clear eyes in puzzlement. She had no idea what Mu Yan and Ling Yuling were talking about.

“You’ll find out when you venture into the outside world,” Gu Changge replied nonchalantly.

The Black Disaster descended far more quickly than he had expected. It seemed that those from the Heaven Legion were well-prepared when they had been in hiding over the years.

Nevertheless, the current scale was far from enough. The Black Disaster had just broken out, so there was still a long way to go before it reached the level he wanted. Anyway, it was good enough for him to take the second step of his plan.

Yao Yao puffed up her cheeks upon hearing that. She felt aggrieved.

Gu Changge rarely took her seriously now. In the past, he would always explain everything to her with patience. Was it because she was no longer adorable after she grew up?

“Yuling, do you have a way to stop the Black Disaster? What’s your view on this?”

Gu Changge ignored Yao Yao’s tantrum and turned to look at Ling Yuling. She would have to venture into the outside world to experience slaughters and trickery so that she would become mature. Naturally, he could not keep protecting her and doting on her.

“I don’t have a solution for the time being. However, the Black Disaster struck too suddenly. I suppose it can’t last long. Even during the period when the Heaven’s Proxy Group was around, the Black Disaster had slowly spread across the Boundless Expanse.

“I think that the remnants of the Black Disaster have a different intention. They might cause panic in the Boundless Expanse for the time being, but they can’t change the status quo.” Ling Yuling was startled, not expecting Gu Changge to ask her that question. She only replied to him after giving it some serious thought.

Regardless of how powerful the remnants of the Black Disaster were, they could not devastate the entire Boundless Expanse at this point. Those Civilisations and True Worlds were not all weak. Although the Aura of Darkness was difficult to deal with, there was a way to resolve it.

Now, what they had to consider was not how to stop the black mist from spreading but how to stop the remnants of the Black Disaster from achieving their goal.

Although the black mist had been spreading quickly in the beginning, it would soon slow down. Not many Realms had been affected yet, and its expansion would take a long time.

It was the conclusion made by those Great Sages.

“You’ve seen through it.” Gu Changge smiled. He had to acknowledge that Ling Yuling was intelligent. She could see through the return of the Black Disaster and get to the truth.

Ling Yuling observed Gu Changge, wanting to know if his compliment was sincere or if he had an ulterior motive.

“I’ve experienced that era, after all. It’s only natural that I’m aware of more things than the younger generation…” She said gently as her eyelashes trembled.

Gu Changge smiled. “How do you know that the remnants of the Black Disaster have never improved after so many years?”

Ling Yuling was startled. She recalled that when she was in the Chaotic Spacetime Sea, the residents of the Floating Land brought up the Atrophies and Shadows. Those were the strange beings that the remnants of the Black Disaster had created at a later time.

“Let’s go, to the outside world. The people of the Primary Hope Civilisation need you to give them some confidence. I believe everyone is in a state of panic right now.” Gu Changge said nonchalantly.

He ignored the dazed Ling Yuling and stepped forward before disappearing from the valley.

Ling Yuling came to her senses and turned into a Divine Light to follow him without thinking deeply about it.

Just like what Gu Changge had said, the Primary Hope Civilisation must be in a state of panic because of the Black Disaster’s return. It was even more terrifying than when similar news was spread before the demise of Land of Celestial Suffering.

That was because the current news had been confirmed, whereas those were merely rumours when Land of Celestial Suffering was still around.

Although various Forces had become part of the Heavenslayers Alliance, they were fearful of the destructive, despairing, irresolvable calamity which they had only learned from ancient books.

Gu Changge wanted Ling Yuling to follow him so that she could appease the people of the Primary Hope Civilisation, considering the fact that she was a Great Sage who had gone against the Black Disaster in the past.

Regardless of how chaotic it was in the Boundless Expanse, he did not want the Primary Hope Civilisation to be affected. He didn’t like the atmosphere of anxiety around him. Moreover, he needed the Heavenslayers Alliance to play an important role during this period when the Black Disaster had struck.

Ling Yuling finally realised Gu Changge’s intention. She had to start showing up in different places as a messenger of the Heavenslayers Alliance to appease the people.

After all, she was a Great Sage who used to fend off the Black Disaster. Given her identity, it would be easier for her to calm the people down. At the same time, Gu Changge told people like the Spirit Empress and Zhuo Fengxie to follow Ling Yuling to spread the doctrine of the Heavenslayers Alliance.

The Heavenslayers Alliance was there to uphold the Heavenly Dao, protect the people, and destroy the darkness.

During this calamity named the Black Disaster, only the followers of the Heavenslayers Alliance would be protected.

There was no doubt that many Forces were furious about the Heavenslayers Alliance doing something so shameless. Currently, no Force in the Boundless Expanse had the confidence to say such a thing.

Was it not apparent that those from the Heavenslayers Alliance were lying to the people to attract more followers? That said, the campaign was successful. Many felt slightly relieved.

Moreover, Ling Yuling, the Founder of the Imperial Celestial Palace, had shown up to appease the people as the messenger of the Heavenslayers Alliance. It was as though she also believed that the Heavenslayers Alliance could protect its followers from the Black Disaster.

Meanwhile, a violent war broke out in the Chaotic Spacetime Sea, which was located in the depths of the Imperial Celestial Palace.

Outside the Floating Land, the black mist which carried a destructive and rotten aura came to attack, trying to shatter the light screen that engulfed the entire Floating Land.

Wisps of black mist contorted as eerie laughs were heard coming from it.

Vague beings were formed. They were initially slimy and as dark as ink. However, they soon turned into Human-shaped creatures. Even their facial features, clothes, and bearings were identical to those of the people within the light screen.

They sneered and summoned all sorts of ancient treasures and Dao Artifacts to launch their attacks.

Later, some wisps of black mist turned into ancient living beings. They were as large as stars, and their eyes looked like lakes. They stared fixedly at the light screen and kept striking it, aiming to destroy it.

A bony bird without any feathers expanded its wings, covering the entire sky. Its claws were surrounded by endless black mist. Deafening sounds were heard as its attacks were cast.

The Floating Land trembled upon impact. The ground quivered and there were cracks everywhere. Houses, fields, and palaces had turned into ruins. The mountains and ancient trees had been destroyed. The entire place had been devastated.

All the residents of the Floating Land had gotten close to the light screen. Some were despondent, some were wailing, and some had collapsed to the ground while feeling grief-stricken. They prayed for the Holy Ancestor to protect them.

Some had left the Floating Land to get into a life-and-death battle against those beings in the black mist. There were countless Atrophies and Shadows, being truly difficult to annihilate.

As long as the black mist was still around, they would not die. They would be constantly resurrected. This was a horrifying ability. The people from the Floating Land would die of exhaustion and be drowned in the black mist. Their corpses were nowhere to be found.

All of them felt despondent upon seeing that. When the light screen left behind by the Holy Ancestor was destroyed, those dark beings would come. By then, they would fight the enemies until their death.

A *crack* was suddenly heard, shocking everyone. This crack had appeared in one part of the light screen.

A claw extended and struck it, causing that part to come apart. Then, the black mist streamed into the Floating Land like a tide through the gap.

“Damn it! They are about to enter!”

The people of the Floating Land were terrified.

Just then, a mysterious ancient bead shot into the sky. Countless runes spun around, and light columns shot out of it. Billions of Divine Lights intertwined with one another as though the powers of countless people had come together. The force surged and destroyed the wisp of black mist. Those dark beings were instantly killed.

“It’s the Primordial Bead sent to us by Fairy Qing!” Many people exclaimed.

A frail person with a hunched back charged forward and took control of the Primordial Bead in an attempt to seal the gap and fend off the black mist.

“Elder Zhu!” The people were astounded upon seeing him. Their voices were shaky.

“Grandfather!” When Zhu Xuan saw his Grandfather shooting forward, his eyes reddened in an instant.
