The black mist spread from the massive Spacetime Rift like a boundless and silent tide.

One part of Heaven and Earth seemed to have sunken because of the terrifying aura. Chaos Energy filled and blurred the area. The atmosphere was solemn and murderous. Some of the most powerful cultivators of the Primary Hope Civilisation had gathered there.

Many Dao Realm experts had shown up with solemn expressions. Even they dare not be negligent.

Upon receiving the order from the Heavenslayers Alliance, various Forces immediately sent their experts to this place.

Forces like Purple Sky Mountain, Tathagata Buddha Realm, and Bright Light Temple had even sent Ancestral Dao Realm experts to guard the depths of the Imperial Celestial Palace.

On the other hand, those from the Imperial Celestial Palace had quickly left. Many Ancestors had set up all sorts of ancient barrier seals to cordon off the area to prevent the black mist from entering the Primary Hope Civilisation.

At the same time, those from other Civilisations and Kingdoms were paying attention to what was happening in the Primary Hope Civilisation.

Countless beings were anxious, eager to find out the latest developments.

The various Forces dare not take this matter lightly. After all, it was the first time so many dark beings were appearing in the Boundless Expanse after countless years.

Once an opening was made in the Primary Hope Civilisation, other Civilisations and Kingdoms that depended on it would naturally get devoured by the darkness as well.

During this period, many territories in the Boundless Expanse had descended into chaos. Many were corrupted by the darkness; countless lives were lost. Immortal Kingdoms and Civilisations rotted and dimmed.

Suddenly, a deafening sound was heard as though violent waves clashed with the shore or rocks were breaking through the air.

Some horrifying beings seemed ready to emerge from the Chaotic Spacetime Sea. The portal had widened.

The silent black mist suddenly started surging and expanding quickly.

It was a horrifying sight. It was like an ocean had suddenly been stirred. Waves surged into the sky and endless dark energy was undulating in the air.

Innumerable dark beings emerged from the dark mist in an orderly manner, as though they were disciplined soldiers who had experienced countless wars. As the black mist surged, they advanced in all directions.

    “They are coming…”

Many felt cold all over their bodies upon seeing that as though a chilly wind had breezed through them.

Powerful experts from various Races were solemn and vigilant. The portal was expanding as more black mist emerged and formed violent waves.

It was a kind of indescribable energy that was eerie, corrosive, and cold. It seemed able to dissolve all Daos and Principles of the Boundless Expanse.

    “They’ve still managed to return…”

A tremor was felt as the dark energy clashed with everything. A dark giant, as massive as a mountain range, emerged from the portal connected to the Chaotic Spacetime Sea.

He was surrounded by thick Dark Concentrate. As he moved, the Dark Concentrate fell from his figure and turned into liquid which flowed around the void.

When the dark giant was close enough, they could finally make out his appearance. His figure was dark gold and radiated an armour-like glow. Some parts of his body were dotted with strange dark spots. Some broken stars were spinning around on his forehead. There were nine in total. Six of them were incomplete, radiating a dark glow.

As he looked up at the sky and howled, immense dark energy burst like thousands of volcanoes erupting at the same time. The boundless energy shot into the sky and filled the universe, causing nearby Star Territories to dim and cracks to form.

“Those stars have been corroded by Dark Concentrate. He’s a member of the Fallen Ancient Divine Clan…”

Some people from the Primary Hope Civilisation could recognise this massive dark giant. They gasped as their pupils dilated.

This was an ancient Clan. In the past, they were called the Ancient Divine Clan. However, after they sided with the darkness that engulfed worlds, so people started calling it the Fallen Ancient Divine Clan.

Members of the Clan were all strong. Small Universes would grow in their bodies as time passed and it was easy for them to traverse across the Boundless Expanse.

Similarly, the stars on their foreheads represented how strong they were. Nine stars suggested that the dark giant before their eyes had transcended the Immortal Realm and reached the Dao Realm.

The broken stars represented the Decay Tribulations they had gone through after they ascended past the Dao Realm. One star would crack for every Decay Tribulation they had gone through.

“Since there are six broken stars, it means that he’s close to the Ancestral Dao Realm.”

Many felt their hearts sinking. These dark beings had just made an appearance and there was already such a powerful being.

He was more powerful than many of the Dao Realm experts here.

Following the appearance of this member of the Fallen Ancient Divine Clan, several more horrifying figures emerged from the black mist. They were carried by the undulating dark waves.

All of them were blurred as they were covered in the thick black mist. They were watching the other party from the Chaotic Spacetime Sea.

“There are indeed beings who are even more powerful…”

“They don’t seem to have any intention of coming over. Are they trying to confront us?”

The various Forces of the Primary Hope Civilisation looked in that direction with solemn expressions. They could not figure out what those dark beings were thinking.

Although they had traversed across the Chaotic Spacetime Sea and arrived at this place, they were stepping into the Primary Hope Civilisation. They were confronting the other party from a distance, as though waiting for something.

The atmosphere was hostile in the depths of the Imperial Celestial Palace.

Countless beings stayed outside the barrier as they looked at the expanding portal of the Chaotic Spacetime Sea. More dark beings emerged, but they only gathered around the portal, spreading only to make space for more of their kind, instead of immediately charging forward. It seemed that they were trying to accumulate more forces or they were waiting for some powerful being to arrive.

“Don’t make any reckless moves. Since they have yet to move, we don’t have to hurry. Let’s wait for more people to gather. Right now, we just need to remain cautious. They might have an ulterior motive for coming to the Primary Hope Civilisation…”

An ancient being coldly watched everything from the void and conversed with the people around him.

Those dark beings had come so suddenly that the people of the Primary Hope Civilisation were caught off guard. Some even suspected that it might have something to do with the Civilisation Supreme Treasure, the Mirror of Reincarnation.

Were those dark beings trying to get their hands on the Mirror of Reincarnation? After all, the Primary Hope Civilisation had descended into turmoil previously. Many Forces were destroyed because they went against the Heavenslayers Alliance.

Now, peace was finally restored in the Primary Hope Civilisation. Perhaps those dark beings thought it was a good opportunity to invade the Primary Hope Civilisation when it was still on the mend.

“You’ve even prepared a barrier. But, you know such barriers cannot stop us.”

An emotionless voice was suddenly heard coming from the black mist.

Over there, a pair of evil eyes were looking at the people on the other side.

Those who had heard his words shuddered. They felt as if they had been struck with an evil curse. Even their Souls became sluggish.

Some ancient beings were astounded. They quickly chanted something to cleanse their Souls and cast their techniques to ward off the strange aura.

“He’s the horrifying being who had exchanged blows with Sir Chu Heng…”

Powerful cultivators of the Heavenslayers Alliance who had followed Chu Heng to the Chaotic Spacetime Sea were solemn and wary. Since even Chu Heng was not a match for that person, the Ancestral Dao Realm experts with them would not be of much help against that being.

Inside the barrier, where the lights of Arrays flickered and intertwined, those dark beings just stood there.

More black mist spread across the void. Some irregular substances were falling like a drizzle.

Although they would melt and disappear after coming into contact with the barrier, the barrier would gradually dim, eventually disappearing as well. Then, the black mist would continue to expand.

All of them felt anxious upon seeing that.

This barrier had been set up in a hurry. They could only slow down but not stop the black mist from spreading. It was only a matter of time before it was gone.

The black mist contained the ever strange Dark Concentrate. Even powerful Dao Realm experts dare not make contact with it.

In that case, how were they supposed to deal with the terrifying Black Disaster?

    Many felt worried and restless.

In the following days, the atmosphere became increasingly hostile. The sounds of horns and bells reverberated across different universes.

More expert of various Forces were coming over to confront the dark beings.

The other Civilisations and True Worlds had also sent some of their experts to lend a helping hand, and prevent this crisis from spreading.

Just like before, the thick black mist was devouring nearby Star Territories. It was slowly expanding into the Primary Hope Civilisation.

Those dark beings watched everything with dispassion. They did not choose to make a move. It was as though they were waiting for the people of the Primary Hope Civilisation to make a move first. Or, they might be waiting for a being to come.

Forces of the Primary Hope Civilisation were not standing idly by. They were looking through ancient books to find records about how people in the past had gone against the dark beings. They wanted to create more barriers to stop the dark beings from advancing further.

Many respectable Array Masters, who had white hair and hunched backs, were invited to this place to discuss how they could stop the dark beings.

Then, their morale was boosted upon Ling Yuling’s arrival. They were pleasantly surprised. Those from the Imperial Celestial Palace had not seen the Founder for a long time. When they saw that she was safe and sound, they were naturally elated and excited.

Upon returning to the Imperial Celestial Palace, Ling Yuling did not speak to the Elders and Ancestors first. Instead, she headed straight to the portal of the Chaotic Spacetime Sea.

In the past, she had left behind nine Dragon Suppressing Pillars to fend off the ancient beasts in the Chaotic Spacetime Sea and prevent them from entering and devastating the Primary Hope Civilisation.

Although the palaces, celestial mountains, and islands there had been moved away, the Dragon Suppressing Pillars she had built were still around. Therefore, the moment she arrived at this place, she resurrected the nine Dragon Suppressing Pillars and constructed a sturdy boundary.

*Boom!* She flew into the sky as her dress and hair swayed with the wind. Some ancient words floated on her hand. They were as massive as stars and they illuminated the void.

Then, horrifying Dragon Roars were heard as dazzling light columns beamed from nine directions. Every light column seemed able to prop up the sky.

Nine hideous True Dragons came to life as they roared and soared into the sky.

Immense energy fluctuated, causing countless to feel their chests tightening.

A tremendous boundary rose from that place, covering the barrier that was already there. It was like an embankment made from the surging Qi.

Ancient Runes floated on it and exuded an Immortal aura. The boundary seemed able to fend off anything.

Heaven and Earth seemed to be burning. Innumerable Runes moved in all directions and surrounded the area. At the same time, they absorbed the Principles and World Energy to sustain itself.

“Is this the Dao Defending Array? It’s said to be able to fend off countless enemies in ancient times. I didn’t expect it to be still around.”

“With the Array here, those dark beings can’t come over for the time being.”

Many old scholars who studied Arrays were shocked by what they saw. At the same time, they were pleasantly surprised and their voices were shaky.

    Then, the people loudly cheered.

Ancient beings started guffawing and their voices made the void tremble. They looked at Ling Yuling with reverence.

“Senior, it’s thanks to you that we can relax for now.”

“With this boundary around, those dark beings can’t pose a threat to us for the time being. But, we still can’t be negligent…”

Many were relieved, including the Dao Realm experts of various Forces. They felt that the atmosphere was less gloomy now.

“The Dao Defending Array was supposedly destroyed, but it has made an appearance again. We should have already destroyed the records of all such Arrays and erased all knowledge. That person must be a Great Sage from that era. Wu Yang, should we…”

At the portal of the Chaotic Spacetime Sea, those dark beings watched everything with dispassion.

Their expressions only changed when they saw the ancient Array. Then, their eyes turned icy and they exuded a murderous intent.

“It’s not surprising that there’s still some record of the Dao Defending Array. In that case, we shall let them live for a while longer. We have to wait for a Priest to come anyway. How do we commence the Grand Ceremony without a Priest here?”

Wu Yang, who was seated cross-legged in the black mist, opened his icy eyes.

He looked into the distance and waved his hand before becoming unmoving again. He ignored the people of the Primary Hope Civilisation, who were celebrating on the other side of the boundary.

The black mist had been obstructed, following the appearance of this ancient Array.

The people of the Primary Hope Civilisation were relieved upon seeing that.

At the same time, Ling Yuling descended from the sky. Unlike how cheerful the others were, she was still worried and her heart grew heavy.

    “Senior…”

Many experts came over and intended to say something.

“People should stay here and keep an eye on those dark beings. We can’t be negligent. I’m worried they’re merely the vanguard who are opening up a path for the beings behind them. They’re probably stationed here to welcome even more horrifying beings. Even the Dao Defending Array can’t fend them off for long.”

Ling Yuling became calm and collected again. She waved her hand and spoke no further.

Their smiles froze when they heard her words. Then, they started becoming worried again.

It was inconceivable that these powerful dark beings were merely vanguards.

Ling Yuling felt helpless when she looked at them. It had been too peaceful in the Boundless Expanse for far too long. Most of them had never experienced what true chaos meant.

During her era, they would not show any fear on their faces even if they were afraid of those dark beings.

How could these people look so timid before they even fought?

“Our most important task is to collaborate and build more fortifications to ward off the black mist. We must not let it expand into the Primary Hope Civilisation. Otherwise, the consequences will be dreadful.”

Ling Yuling swept a glance over them before setting her gaze on Zhuo Fengxie.

There was an ancient token in her hand that was engraved with the word ‘Heavenslayers’. It contained incredible power.

“It’s the Heavenslayers Token. With this token in possession, everyone in this place will have to obey your orders. From now on, you’re responsible for guarding this place and handling the affairs here.”

“Yes, Senior.” Zhuo Fengxie was startled for a moment before respectfully taking the token.

All of them were shocked upon seeing that.
