flags swayed with the wind. ancient battleships whirred and entered the Spacetime portal. They were heading to the boundary of the Righteous Alliance, to demand an explanation.
The formation was so massive that the universes they had moved past trembled.
Countless beings shuddered as they were worried they would be accidentally killed. Various Forces in the Boundless Expanse were shocked as well.
It was a time of chaos. Civilisations and True Worlds primarily focused on going against dark beings. No one expected the Righteous Alliance and the Heavenslayers Alliance would go to war at this point.
This would cause the situation to become even more chaotic, which would give those dark beings a chance to take advantage of the situation.
All of them from the Heavenslayers Alliance were furious. On the other hand, those from the Righteous Alliance were incensed and astounded. They claimed this was all a scheme by the Heavenslayers Alliance. For the sake of everyone in the Boundless Expanse, they would never consider sending their men to kill the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. Moreover, given his strength, could anyone in the Boundless Expanse kill him?
Any intelligent person could tell that it was the Heavenslayers Alliance’s scheme, that It was a lame excuse they had come up with to deal with the Righteous Alliance. It was obvious they were accusing the Righteous Alliance of wrongdoings they had never committed.
Thus, members of the Righteous Alliance were furious as well. Those from the Heavenslayers Alliance had crossed the line. Too domineering to never take them seriously. How could they even come up with such a pathetic excuse?
Naturally, those from the Heavenslayers Alliance would never acknowledge such a statement to be true.
In the hall back then, before the announcement, a beam of light shot into the sky and exploded. This was energy capable of destroying an entire universe.
Everyone saw it. How could this not be a well-planned assassination?
More and more ancient battleships came together in different universes of the Heavenslayers Alliance. Ancestral Dao Realm experts blew their horns. It was as though ancient Immortals had returned.
As war was about to break out. The Heavenslayers Alliance Leader, Gu Changge, did not shown up, and the high-ranking officials of the Heavenslayers Alliance acknowledged this incident to be true.
In just a few days, soldiers from various places in the Heavenslayers Alliance were ready to set off. Mountains were covered in fog and Divine Lights beamed from Supreme Caves. The portals of many Small Universes opened up as powerful experts emerged one after another.
…
Meanwhile, the atmosphere was gloomy elsewhere.
In the damp prison engraved with Grand Runes, Chen Yi and the others slowly awakened. Many were still not aware of what had happened. Their heads were aching and they were perplexed.
Meanwhile, the dazed Priestess Hui Jue looked at the prison in a daze.
Chen Yi rubbed the centre of her brows and scanned the surroundings. Some hay had been laid on the floor and there was nothing else.
The jailers were seen walking around the prison. They would shoot them glances from time to time, but their gazes were void of any emotions.
“What’s going on? We didn’t do anything! We didn’t even see the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. Yet, we’ve been imprisoned as assassins!?”
There was a sense of helplessness and bewilderment on Chen Yi’s icy face. She thought they had overcome all the challenges. Much to her surprise, the biggest crisis awaited them at the end.
Now, they were regarded as assassins who tried to kill the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. It was a wonder how many years they would be confined in here. Perhaps, they might not get out for all of eternity.
They were aggrieved, but they did not even have a way to clear their name.
Their cultivation had been sealed, making them no different from Mortals. It was impossible for them to escape from this prison, not when it was deep inside the Heavenslayers Alliance’s territory.
The prison was dark, where there was no energy or substance. An eerie aura continuously seeped into it. In the distance, some people could be heard groaning and shrieking, chilling to the bone. It was as though many eerie eyes were staring at them in the dark.
Chen Yi and the others could even feel the movements beneath the prison. There was surely another floor beneath them, and the beings confined there must be even more horrifying.
“They could easily come up with a pretext to accuse us of wrongdoing. It’s no wonder our travel here has been so smooth after we arrived within their territory. They were waiting for us to fall into their trap. The outside world must be in chaos right now. Those from the Heavenslayers Alliance will surely seize the chance to make a move against the Righteous Alliance.”
“To think the Heavenslayers Alliance would be so wicked. It’s laughable that we from the Righteous Alliance even hope to coexist peacefully with them, and go against the Black Disaster together. What we are doing is no different from harming their interest. Now, we are the ones suffering for it.”
A white-haired old man in a Daoist robe sighed. Then, he placed some hay on the floor and sat down to get some rest. It seemed that he was resigned to his fate.
He was from the Righteous Alliance. Because he had no future, and his days were numbered, he was selected as the Envoy and told to head to the Heavenslayers Alliance along with Chen Yi and the others.
Therefore, he did not mind the situation he was in.
“Can we only wait for death?” The person beside him was despondent.
Chen Yi remained silent. She lifted her head and looked at the dark prison surrounding her, shaking her head helplessly. Would anyone come to rescue them?
…
In the main hall of the Heavenslayers Alliance, high-ranking officials like Chu Heng, Zhuo Fengxie, Hun Yuanjun, and Jing Tianyuan gathered here to await Gu Changge’s orders.
Ling Yuling was clad in a white dress, which swayed with the wind, making her look graceful. Behind her were the leaders of the Forbidden Areas that Gu Changge had brought back to the Heavenslayers Alliance.
Other than that, there were powerful experts who had submitted to the Heavenslayers Alliance recently. Even the weakest beings had gone through their Fifth Decay Tribulation.
Outside the hall were leaders of various Forces. They lowered their heads and respectfully waited for the orders from the hall.
This gathering had a force that could make anyone tremble in fear. They could easily destroy a Supreme True World if it did not have the protection of a Civilisation Supreme Treasure.
“Alliance Leader, those from the Righteous Alliance have crossed the line. They dare to provoke us like this. They have ignored the safety of everyone in the Boundless Expanse and are still ill-intentioned enough to act against everyone’s interests during this chaotic time when we’re surrounded by enemies. This is outrageous! I’m willing to lead everyone from the Beast Court to launch an attack against them!”
The Beast Overlord, Di Kun, was murderous and furious. He spoke in front of everyone in the hall.
Gu Changge was clad in dark clothes with loose sleeves. His hair flowed down like a waterfall. He placed his hands behind his back while facing away from everyone. Upon hearing those words, he only nodded without responding to him.
“I disagree. If we launch an attack against them, those dark beings will be the only beneficiaries. It’ll be disastrous for the entire Boundless Expanse.” Gu Changge’s voice was still calm.
Mu Fuguang was there to watch a good show. When she heard those words, she felt her lips twitching. [So now he’s trying to pretend to be nice?]
On the other hand, Tong Xian and the others lowered their heads and pretended that they heard nothing.
The powerful experts of the Heavenslayers Alliance were not surprised at all.
Di Kun stepped forward, looking even more incensed. “Alliance Leader, if you still remain this kind to the Righteous Alliance, I’m worried it’ll attract even more calamities. Those from the Righteous Alliance are unlike you, who are determined to protect everyone in the Boundless Expand. Unlike you, they hold no justice in their hears.”
Gu Changge fell into his thoughts and never responded to him.
Then, people like Zhuo Fengxie and Hun Yuanjun exchanged glances and stepped forward. “Alliance Leader, you must not be soft-hearted at this point. We hope you’ll look at the big picture. Do not forget about what happened when you signed the Primary Hope Covenant previously. The fact that those from the Righteous Alliance have sent Envoys to assassinate you is a precedent. If you weren’t strong enough, you would’ve become badly injured. It’s only because of you that we’re safe from those dark beings. It’s only because you are here that the situation is peaceful and the various Races can live their lives without worry. Yet, those from the Righteous Alliance have tried to kill you. If you were injured, those dark beings would seize the chance to attack the Heavenslayers Alliance. This plan of theirs is truly vicious…”
Ling Yuling appeared awkward upon hearing that.
On the other hand, the leaders of various Forces in the hall were shocked.
They had never considered this. Now that they thought about it, they realised those from the Righteous Alliance were indeed despicable, trying to bring a calamity onto them.
It was peaceful in the Heavenslayers Alliance because the Alliance Leader was around. He alone ensured that those dark beings dared not approach their borders.
Gu Changge seemed to be deep in his thoughts. A moment later, he shook his head and ordered calmly, “Fine. In that case, I’ll heed your advice. All of us from the Heavenslayers Alliance will launch an attack against the Righteous Alliance to right the wrong and uphold justice.”
With that, he disappeared from the hall.
People like Zhuo Fengxie and Hun Yuanjun exchanged glances and passed on Gu Changge’s order.
The leaders of various Forces then left the place. They had all been prepared. It was clear that there would be a carnage of blood in the Boundless Expanse soon enough.
Various universes of the Heavenslayers Alliance soon received the order that they would launch an attack against the Righteous Alliance.
Meanwhile, the members of the Righteous Alliance were gathering their most powerful experts to fend off those from the Heavenslayers Alliance.
The already chaotic situation was made even worse, and ordinary people could only live out their days in fear.
Ancient battleships opened up Spacetime portals and traversed across the Boundless Expanse. At the same time, experts from different universes saw the appearance of more dark beings.
The boundless black mist came over from far away. This time, it directly devoured nearby universes.
Because of the confrontation between the Heavenslayers Alliance and the Righteous Alliance, dark beings became even more reckless. They even seized the chance to make a move against the Righteous Alliance to get their revenge.
During this period, the Righteous Alliance had formed small teams to set up traps to eliminate those dark beings. It was only natural that they were displeased.
However, with them only attacking one side, many felt that the Heavenslayers Alliance had collaborated with dark beings to deal with the Righteous Alliance.
The boundless black mist gobbled up everything. Countless dark beings swept across the territories of the Righteous Alliance like waves.
The sight was terrifying. Black mist undulated and covered universes, as though it was doomsday.
Those from the Righteous Alliance immediately sent many powerful experts to ward off their enemies. From the embankments and walls they had built, they dealt with those dark beings as war broke out.
Divine Lights surged and all sorts of Ancient Runes shone, illuminating Spacetime.
Those inside cities kept chanting scriptures. Lights radiated from the centre of their brows and their Souls burned. Tremendous energy was generated, transforming into indestructible walls that extended into skies, effectively blocked out the dark beings’ siege.
The epic war during this period was unimaginable. It was as though Heaven and Earth were recreated and chaos was destroyed and rebuilt.
On the other side of the wall were countless experts who summoned their weapons and did their best to fend off their enemies.
Dazzling lights sprinkled down from the sky like a mist. Those dark beings, unafraid of death, streamed towards the defence line like waves in an attempt to destroy it.
Blood and broken bones fell from the sky like rain.
Terrifying figures hovered and the appalling auras pressed down, making everyone tremble in fear.
However, they were soon confronting by the experts from the Righteous Alliance. Despite being separated by Spacetime, their auras clashed, destroying the lands all around them.
Occupied broken universes turned into the nests for the dark beings as more black mist surged.
It was like an eerie demonic territory that was full of chaos and oddity.
Meanwhile, a luxurious carriage with red curtains around it hovered in the depths of the black mist. It radiated an eerie blood light.
A massive giant respectfully knelt beneath it. His head, like a mountain, had the luxurious carriage landed safely on it.
Around the carriage stood four alluring young women. These maidservants were holding golden trays that carried celestial wine, tea, and fruits.
A beautiful woman in white clothes stood beside the carriage. Her eyes were emotionless as though they were made from ice.
As the curtains were drawn open, a hand as fair as snow extended from the inside of the carriage and picked up a translucent grape which exuded a purple aura. Then, she retracted her hand and put the fruit into her mouth.
Inside the carriage, a charming and languid woman leaned on her side on a cushion. She was clad in a red robe that revealed her shoulders and her silky hair hung loose. Her fair skin was glowing. Her smile was enchanting. Everything would pale when compared to her.
“Those from the Righteous Alliance are more defiant than I thought. Sadly, their efforts are futile. Do you agree, Liuyun?”
The beautiful woman was munching on the grape when she asked the question with squinted eyes and a faint smile.
A maidservant extended the golden tray and let the beautiful woman spit out the grape skin on it. A purple aura exuded from the translucent grape skin as Runes flickered.
She treated this grape skin no different from trash. Yet, the grape skin alone was akin to a powerful Dao Fruit that contained countless abstrusities.
“Priestess Qi Luo, once you’ve made a move, there’s no way those from the Righteous Alliance will be able to fend you off. Their defence line will surely collapse.” Replied the white-clothed woman calmly.
“The Righteous Alliance is not worth my attention. It’s laughable that they even dream of going against us when they’ve only been around for a few years. It is true they’ve managed to persuade many Civilisations and Kingdoms to form such an alliance. So, at least the mastermind behind them is capable.”
The languid figure in the carriage slowly sat up.
Inside the carriage, a birdcage was hung near the window. Inside the cage was a red canary which radiated a red light.
The woman extended her blemish-free hand and played with the canary. It was a wonder whether she was speaking to herself or someone else.
The canary in the cage kept fluttering its wings to avoid the woman’s hand. Its beautiful eyes showed that it was furious. Grand Runes appeared around its feathers. The surrounding Spacetime fell apart.
Nevertheless, it could not get rid of the Runes, let alone break free from the cage. Despondent, the canary could only let the woman touch its head.
The red-robed woman held the birdcage and pushed the curtains aside before stepping out of the carriage. At that moment, the entire world seemed to have turned stagnant. All dark beings hung their heads low. Even those beings exuding horrifying auras in the distance lowered their heads. They dared not look directly at this woman.
The boundless black mist suddenly calmed as the red-robed woman emerged. It was like an endless sea without waves.
The icy white-clothed woman also stood respectfully with her hands on each side.
Only the canary was still fluttering its wings inside the cage in an attempt to break free.
Its beautiful eyes were full of fury and resentment. Even though it was bleeding, it was still trying to get out of the cage.
“Little guy, I have little patience left to play with you if you keep throwing a tantrum.” The red-robed woman smiled with squinted eyes. The corners of her eyes were painted with a red shade, which made her look stunning.
The beautiful white-clothed woman hung her head low.
Dragon Finch, a legendary bird that existed in ancient myths, but it was no different from a canary in a birdcage to this Priestess.
