If Yao Yao never saw it with her own eyes, she would not even have believed what she had just said.

But that was the truth. Those from the Black Lotus Cult had been looking for children with a special characteristic. Then, they would turn them into Holy Children and use them to spread their doctrine. By doing so, they could expand their influence and attract more followers.

This allowed their influence to spread to nearby territories during this period like a plague. They were unstoppable.

During a turbulent time like this, everyone was fearful, especially when dark beings might strike at any moment.

An environment like this became a breeding ground for the Black Lotus Cult to expand their influence.

Yao Yao had run into a ceremony where those from the Black Lotus Cult used the Holy Children to spread their doctrine and attract new followers. Then, she secretly tailed those followers and arrived at a dungeon where many boys and girls were confined.

Inside the dark dungeon, those from the Black Lotus Cult would use a stone plate that exuded a strange aura to select a potential Holy Child from these teenagers.

Then, they would bring the candidate to a different place and hold an eerie ceremony.

At that ceremony, Yao Yao saw the appearance of a mysterious illusory figure, who then gave the Holy Child their blessing.

She initially thought it was an ordinary ceremony of an evil Cult, but she never expected the mysterious illusory figure to resemble Gu Changge.

She was rooted to the spot as her emotions undulated in her heart. Then, the followers of the Black Lotus Cult discovered her presence. She had no choice but to flee.

While running away, she decided to get to the bottom of it. Therefore, she took on a huge risk to capture a Holy Child, who was this teenager inside the cage.

It was for this reason that a series of incidents happened later.

Since this matter was complicated and might affect Gu Changge, Yao Yao had been cautious. She would not want to alert nearby Forces and make it public.

Therefore, she decided to secretly bring the Holy Child back to the Heavenslayers Alliance.

Much to her surprise, the background of the Black Lotus Cult was beyond her imagination. Even a Dao Realm expert had come to destroy her.

“They can temporarily turn into dark beings? You mean the followers of the Black Lotus Cult can shift between normal living beings and dark beings? Is this even possible?” Jiang Weiyang’s confused voice made Yao Yao snap back to reality.

As far as she was concerned, once cultivators came into contact with Dark Concentrate and fell into darkness, their Wills would be corrupted and they would slowly turn into dark beings. This was supposedly an unrecoverable sitaution.

Even during ancient times, the Great Sages who had gone against the Black Disaster did not have a solution.

Considering the series of incidents that had happened in the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty, Jiang Weiyang had even boldly speculated that her Father had also been corrupted by darkness.

Certainly, this was merely her speculation. She wouldn’t dare to think deeply about it, nor could she accept it.

“Actually, Dark Concentrate is not irresolvable. My Master had helped some people get rid of Dark Concentrate. They eventually regained their clarity and returned to their former selves.”

Yao Yao knew that it was difficult for Jiang Weiyang to believe all this. After giving it some thought, she decided to bring up what she had heard from the people of the Heavenslayers Alliance about how Gu Changge had helped the residents of the Floating Land.

Among them, an old man had been invaded by Dark Concentrate and had fallen into a coma. He was on the brink of falling into darkness.

But with Gu Changge’s help, the old man regained clarity and got rid of Dark Concentrate.

This incident became well-known in the Heavenslayers Alliance. They were invigorated by this news and were no longer afraid of Dark Concentrate.

Yao Yao even heard that the Deputy Alliance Leader of the Heavenslayers Alliance, Ling Yuling, used to be corrupted by Dark Concentrate and confined in a dark space. In the end, Gu Changge led the Elders of the Imperial Celestial Palace to save her and bring her out of that prison. He also dispelled the Dark Concentrate for her.

“Really?” Jiang Weiyang’s lips parted as she was shocked upon hearing that. There seemed to be a glow behind her gaze which made her look charming.

If that was true, there might be a way to save her Father, who was thought to have been corrupted by Dark Concentrate.

Although she was usually calm and collected, she could not stop the undulation of her emotions. She could hardly conceal her elation and excitement.

“You’ll know if it’s true by asking around when you arrive at the Heavenslayers Alliance. It’s not a secret.” Yao Yao shook her head. She did not know why Jiang Weiyang was so agitated upon hearing the tale.

Shouldn’t Jiang Weiyang be more concerned about another matter?

If normal living beings could be intentionally transformed into dark beings, it would mean that dark beings could also turn into normal living beings and infiltrate various Forces.

At the thought of this, Yao Yao felt her body turning cold.

The appearance of the Black Lotus Cult was a method the dark beings could employ to deal with the Heavenslayers Alliance and the various Forces in the Boundless Expanse.

“I have to quickly return to the Heavenslayers Alliance and inform my Master about it so that he’ll get prepared sooner.” Yao Yao looked apologetically and sympathetically at the dazed boy in the corner while feeling helpless. She didn’t have a way to help resolve his pain.

“This matter indeed has a lot of implications. We can’t waste any time.” Jiang Weiyang snapped back to reality and nodded in agreement.

She finally understood what Yao Yao was worried about.

Although it seemed that three Forces, namely the Heavenslayers Alliance, the Righteous Alliance, and the dark beings, were going against one another, the Righteous Alliance might have already be in full control of the dark beings.

If the Heavenslayers Alliance also fell, the entire Boundless Expanse would descend into darkness. It would be the end for all of them.

[The Land of Darkness Origin is approaching. It won’t be long before it crashes into the Boundless Expanse.] Jiang Weiyang was dejected deep within.

But at the same time, she was also expectant. A hero was born during a turbulent time. The Heavenslayers Alliance Leader might be able to single-handedly save the Boundless Expanse.

    …

In a dark palace that was always engulfed in a fog in the Yin River Ancient Territory, there was a massive pool paved with green stones. The black water inside it was boiling as bubbles formed. A massive black lotus floated on it. Its petals were translucent and radiated a strange dark glow.

On the lotus sat a vague black-robed figure. He seemed meditative and his mind was somewhere else.

Around the pool, candlelights illuminated figures who were also clad in black robes. All of them were wearing black lotus masks as they fervently knelt.

“The great Master of the Black Lotus will protect all of his followers and help them return from darkness…”

Suddenly, the figure seated on the black lotus opened his eyes. A glint of shrewdness flashed across his turbid eyes. He was akin to a sage who had seen through the abstrusities of the Boundless Expanse.

As his old voice sounded, the kneeling figures around him became more fervent.

Black bubbles formed on the boiling water as the black mist rolled. It seemed that something was about to emerge.

The next moment, a skeleton appeared from the water with a splash. It didn’t seem to have a Soul. It instinctively left the pool by ascending the steps.

During the process, the black mist on the pool streamed towards it as though having a life of its own. This allowed the skeleton to start growing blood and flesh.

The process didn’t last long. Before it even left the pool, its facial features became fully developed. Then, it also had limbs and its eyes made it seem shrewd.

Like a miracle, the skeleton turned into a figure with blood and flesh. The fervent followers around the pool were not surprised.

They only knelt piously and kept chanting words such as the great Master of the Black Lotus would always protect his followers.

The old man on the lotus was unperturbed. He looked at the figure who had stepped out of the pool and knelt in front of him. Then, he asked calmly, “Why did you die?”

The figure didn’t seem like he had regained his senses. Muddle-minded, he gave it some thought and replied respectfully, “I was killed by a strange woman using a Nirvana Sword. She’s blind and wearing a bamboo hat.”

“You’re a Dao Realm expert, but you were killed just like that? It seems that the other party is indeed far stronger than you are. So, a blind woman who’s wearing a bamboo hat to conceal her face?”

The old man on the black lotus fell into his thoughts as he connected the dots in his mind.

“I reckon she might be the Princess from the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty who ran away from her marriage. It seems that she’s aware of the existence of the Holy Children.”

At the mention of this, the kneeling figure shuddered in fear. He seemed worried about getting punished.

The old man ignored him and muttered under his breath, “It’s fine. It doesn’t matter if she’s aware of it. Her Father can’t even save himself. There’s no way she can interfere in this matter. I suppose Wu Xuzi is about to make his move.”

    …

Following the reappearance of the Land of Darkness Origin, the situation in the Boundless Expanse became even more chaotic. In just a few months, various Forces had launched several attacks against dark beings.

In the territories controlled by dark beings, many powerful cultivators were seen leading their soldiers to the borders in an attempt to destroy the dark beings.

While the Heavenslayers Alliance and the Righteous Alliance were at war, many Hidden Clans had no choice but to join the war as well.

“The six glows are the six Civilisations Supreme Treasures. Unfortunately, they’re left with little power…”

On a magnificent peak in the Righteous Alliance, a mysterious white-robed man stood there with his hands behind his back. He looked up at the Land of Darkness Origin which was slowly approaching the Boundless Expanse.

Around the dark land were six flickering glows. Despite the long distance, they could still be faintly seen.

The six vague glows were engulfed in Chaos Energy. One could faintly see that they were six illusory items, which included an ancient mirror, a gate, a pool, a coffin, a disc, and a book.

“Master, why are you helping the Ardent Ruins Cave Master? It’s said that dark beings have gain control over the Righteous Alliance. If the Land of Darkness Origin breaks into the Boundless Expanse, those from the Righteous Alliance will side with them and bring down calamity onto all beings.”

Beside the white-robed man were two good-looking teenagers, a boy and a girl. Their eyes were beautiful and the two of them looked similar.

At this moment, the girl looked up at the sight above the sky. She asked meekly, “The Ardent Ruins Cave Master?”

Upon hearing that, the white-robed man smiled in response. “What you’ve heard might not be true. The Righteous Alliance might not necessarily push the Boundless Expanse to its destruction. There will be new life after destruction, and one can only see hope during a time of adversity.”

The girl nodded, though she did not entirely understand the older man.

The white-robed man spoke no further. He looked into the distance where the entire universe was drowned in the shouting of the soldiers. All sorts of light shot into the sky and the war was violent.

Countless stars rotated and trembled. Some were destroyed by the repercussions of the battles as they turned into pieces and flew in all directions.

Horrifying figures hovered between Heaven and Earth. Their palms passed, stirring up countless stars. It was like an ancient war where Gods and Demons clashed.

The entire universe had turned into a battlefield. The armies of the Heavenslayers Alliance and the Righteous Alliance clashed. The war was brutal.

However, it was apparent that those from the Righteous Alliance were on the losing side when they were faced with the Heavenslayers. They retreated and ran away in various directions as many of the areas had been occupied.

“Are you going to make a move, Master?” Asked the boy on the peak. His eyes were as bright as the Sun.

“I’ve made several moves and the more powerful experts from the Heavenslayers Alliance have begun targeting me. I’m afraid I’ll have to deal with a strong opponent this time.” The white-robed man shook his head.

After he finished speaking, an icy gaze fell upon him from the distant universe.

She was an alluring woman with a flawless face, but her gaze was cold. As her hair swayed with the wind, she traversed across Spacetime and soon crossed the universe. Then, she lifted her palm and launched an attack against the white-robed man.

“She must one of the Great Sages.”

The white-robed man was slightly surprised. He grabbed the two teenagers and disappeared from the spot. The next second, the mountain where he had stood was destroyed.

The white dress the woman was wearing flapped in the wind. She elegantly hovered in the void and looked dispassionately at him. She seemed surprised as well. The woman was none other than Ling Yuling.

“I guess you’re the mysterious white-robed man from the Righteous Alliance who has made a name for yourself as of late,” she said impassively.
