“If there’s a chance, I’d like to personally thank your Master.”
Jiang Weiyang took a sip of tea while holding the cup. She spoke with an amiable smile.
The young woman in a red dress shook her head. “My Master loves staying in a quiet place and doesn’t want anyone to disturb him. It was an accident that he even made a move. You don’t have to thank him.”
Jiang Weiyang smiled and spoke no further. Then, she continued sipping tea.
When the young woman saw that Jiang Weiyang was always demure and elegant, she was envious. Then, she recalled that Jiang Weiyang was there for a reason. She asked, “Why is it that you’ve come to see me in the middle of the night?”
Jiang Weiyang put down the teacup but did not answer the question. Instead, she said with a smile, “May I know what your name is? You already know my background. I’m Jiang Weiyang, the princess of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. I ran away because I did not like the marriage arranged by my Father…”
The young woman was startled, not expecting Jiang Weiyang to frankly tell her about her identity.
“My name is Yao Yao. I believe you’re already aware of my background as well…” She had a feeling that Jiang Weiyang was trying to pry some information out of her and the older woman was steering the conversation in a direction she preferred. This made her feel awkward.
Jiang Weiyang smiled. Her gaze was clear and soft. “Yes. I suppose the being who had made an appearance earlier is the legendary Heavenslayers Alliance Leader.”
Other than the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader, she could not think of another person in the Boundless Expanse who could scare Master Xing Ming away.
Yao Yao inclined her head. She did not deny it.
While she was away from the Heavenslayers Alliance, she never revealed her identity. However, if anyone wanted to find out her background, it wasn’t so difficult to do so.
Jiang Weiyang was the Princess of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty. Given her intelligence, she would naturally know.
She kept a smile on her face. “I didn’t expect to come across that Senior in a situation like that.”
She thought to herself that fate had played a trick on her. She didn’t expect to accidentally come across the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. What was more, he even saved her life.
During this period, she had been hesitating whether she should sneak into the Heavenslayers Alliance.
In the vast Boundless Expanse, where else could she go apart from the Righteous Alliance and the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty?
Her identity was special. The Righteous Alliance was at war with the Heavenslayers Alliance. If she showed up in the Heavenslayers Alliance, what would different Forces in the Boundless Expanse make of it? How would it impact her Father, the current leader of the Righteous Alliance? How were those from the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty supposed to deal with the backlash?
Considering all these, she was not supposed to head to the Heavenslayers Alliance.
Yao Yao looked curiously at her and asked, “Are you not afraid of my Master?”
Based on her experiences in the Boundless Expanse, cultivators and living beings of any level would be frightened whenever the name of the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader was brought up.
However, she didn’t see a hint of fear on Jiang Weiyang’s face. Instead, admiration and respect were shown on her face.
Jiang Weiyang said with a smile, “Why would I be afraid of him? I’m not trying to butter him up. I’ve heard about everything they have done since the establishment of the Heavenslayers Alliance. Although every incident was shocking and made different Forces fearful, one would have a different opinion when looking at the big picture. Considering the history of ancient times, this is a similar trajectory that is bound to be repeated.
“It’s inevitable that the rise of any Force would come with carnage and wars. The Heavenslayers Alliance has managed to gain a footing in the Boundless Expanse and achieved what took other Civilisations hundreds of epochs to do, which is inconceivable. It can be said to be a miracle.”
“A war that was supposed to last for hundreds of epochs ended in just a few thousand years. Countless sacrifices have been avoided. I’ve always admired and curious about the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. When I have some spare time, I’ll tell my maidservants to read some ancient history to me. I’ll compare those brilliant cultivators, saints, and Great Sages with the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader. What I’ve discovered is that no one is a match for the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader when it comes to achievements.
“I’ve always felt that the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader will open up a new era for the Boundless Expanse.”
Yao Yao was shocked upon hearing that. She almost sprayed out the tea from her mouth.
If not for the fact that Jiang Weiyang seemed sincere when she spoke and she did not seem to be flattering her, Yao Yao would’ve suspected the other woman was making things up.
No one would believe her if they heard what she had just said.
To everyone else, the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader was a Demon who had devastated the Boundless Expanse and caused endless calamities.
He was also the one who had destroyed countless Forces, forcing innumerable beings to leave their ruined homelands.
However, what Jiang Weiyang had just said sounded sensible as well.
“My Master would be pleased if he heard what you had said.” Yao Yao decided not to refute her. There was a weird expression on her face.
She wondered if this Princess of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty was a sycophant.
As she gradually grew up and learned more things, she had to accept the fact that Gu Changge wasn’t as righteous and heroic as she used to think he was.
During this period, she had heard of many rumours about Gu Changge. When she learned of what Gu Changge had done in the Boundless Expanse after leaving the Prosperous Dao True World, she found it difficult to accept.
When they were in the Prosperous Dao True World back then, many Forces called Gu Changge a demon. Some even went so far as to call him the World-Destroying Demon Lord. Anyone would be frightened when his name was brought up.
Upon arriving in the Boundless Expanse, she discovered that the rumours about Gu Changge had gotten worse. He was a being that was more terrifying than a demon.
Regardless, she would always believe that Gu Changge was her righteous and valiant Master. She would not allow anyone to slander him.
She was surprised by what Jiang Weiyang had said. For this reason, she took a liking to her.
“That’s why I have a request tonight.” Jiang Weiyang smiled upon hearing Yao Yao’s words. When she thought of something, she turned solemn and rose to her feet. Then, she seriously saluted the young woman and said, “I’d like to follow you to the Heavenslayers Alliance.”
Yao Yao was startled upon hearing that. She didn’t expect Jiang Weiyang to look for her for this matter.
“You want to follow me to the Heavenslayers Alliance? You just want to see my Master, don’t you?” She was not a fool. When she realised Jiang Weiyang’s intention, she was slightly wary.
Jiang Weiyang nodded. “To be honest with you, I’ve had many doubts because of what has happened in the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty recently. That’s why I’d like to see the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader so that I can seek his help to clear my doubts. I’m willing to pay any price for that.”
Yao Yao remained silent, and Jiang Weiyang patiently waited for her response.
She knew that her request was awkward. She had been hesitant before this. However, after she was ambushed by Master Xing Ming, she finally realised that she had nowhere else to go other than the Heavenslayers Alliance.
Perhaps the doubts she had in mind would only be cleared when she met the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader.
“You can follow me to the Heavenslayers Alliance, but I can’t decide for my Master whether he’ll see you, nor will I put in a good word for you even though you’re the Princess of the Main Happiness Celestial Dynasty.”
Yao Yao did not hesitate for a long time. She soon gave her a response.
She didn’t think letting Jiang Weiyang follow her to the Heavenslayers Alliance would have any negative impact. It was only an insignificant matter.
“Thanks, Lady Yao Yao.” Jiang Weiyang appeared elated. Then, she saluted her again.
Yao Yao waved her hand helplessly.
“In that case, I’ll stop bothering you.” Jiang Weiyang was tactful enough not to stay there any longer. She put on her bamboo hat and was ready to take her leave.
Outside the carriage, a maidservant had been waiting for her. When she saw Jiang Weiyang, she was ready to help her return to the back of the caravan.
Nevertheless, Jiang Weiyang suddenly detected something. She frowned and stopped her.
Inside the carriage, Yao Yao was about to meditate when she sensed something as well. Her expression turned icy and she appeared outside the carriage the next moment.
“I didn’t expect those guys to relentlessly chase after me to this place.”
A glint of iciness flashed across her eyes as she looked at the dark sky. Wisps of miasma and a mist permeated the forest. The chilly aura was everywhere.
“It seems that you’ve come across some trouble, Lady Yao Yao,” Jiang Weiyang said gently.
Although she could not see, her perception was much greater than that of an average Dao Realm expert.
“Those are just some guys who are sick of living.” Yao Yao snorted and flipped her hand. A translucent and square Sky-turning Seal that radiated an amazing dawn light appeared.
“Young Lady, some people are coming after us…”
The manager of the caravan, the shrivelled old man, came over in a hurry with an anxious expression.
Yao Yao glanced at him and said, “There’s no need to panic. I told you I’d solve any problems we might face.”
Despite that, the shrivelled old man was still apprehensive.
“Give us that thing.”
Under the dark sky, a being wearing a black robe silently appeared. A terrifying aura surrounded him. His immense pressure froze the surrounding Spacetime.
Behind the black-robed person, several figures made an appearance. Each of them was just as powerful as the black-robed person. They were wearing face masks with a black lotus pattern. They also exuded horrifying auras as strange phenomena appeared around them.
Even in this area with natural restrictions, they could still fly in the sky, ignoring the pressure coming from this place.
“All of them are in the Immortal King Realm…” The shrivelled old man’s expression changed and he panicked.
All the people in the caravan were flabbergasted. They were unable to move a muscle under such tremendous pressure.
The most powerful cultivator among them was only in the Immortal King Realm. How was he supposed to fend off a group of cultivators of the same level?
Usually, an Immortal King had a right to manage an ancient city of around ten million people. They were authoritative figures who were rarely seen in public.
Who could have expected that so many of them would appear that night?
“What is it that we’re escorting that so many Immortal Kings would show up and try to snatch it?” Many cultivators turned pale.
Under the immense pressure of the Immortal Kings, all of them were immovable. Their legs went weak and they almost fell to their knees.
Immortal Kings might be insignificant in the entire Boundless Expanse, but they were supreme beings in any Star Territory or Ancient Territory. They could easily pick stars and destroy mountains.
“Why would this caravan catch the attention of so many Immortal Kings?” Jiang Weiyang was surprised as well.
Suddenly, she was curious about what Yao Yao, the Disciple of the Heavenslayers Alliance Leader, was escorting.
“Where did you even get that thing?” Yao Yao looked emotionlessly at these Immortal Kings. She was unperturbed.
“You don’t have a right to know.”
The black-robed person at the head swept a glance over the carriage covered in a black cloth. Detecting something, he extended his hand in an attempt to take it away as his pressure permeated the place.
Nevertheless, before his hand could go near it, the Sky-turning Seal in Yao Yao’s hand radiated a glow and a pressure spread. It was as though a deity had come back to life. Amid the Divine Light, a vague hand appeared and struck the black-robed person.
“Huh?”
The black-robed person was astounded as he found everything inconceivable. Then, he exploded without any blood. Instead, he turned into several pieces of flesh that had been dyed black by a certain substance.
The other black-robed men wearing black lotus face masks were shocked, not expecting Yao Yao to be able to use that move.
Nevertheless, it would not stop them from trying to snatch the carriage. They extended their hands in an attempt to take it away.
Yao Yao scoffed and the Sky-turning Seal radiated a glow again. Bolts of lightning gathered in the void and then shot forward.
Every bolt of lightning carried a destructive aura. They beamed down from the sky to stop those black-robed people.
She turned to look at a different void and said coldly, “Stop trying. Do you think I can’t detect your presence just because you’re well-hidden?”
“If I never came, you might have been able to take the thing away and foiled our plan.” A dispassionate voice was heard coming from the void. At the same time, an ordinary-looking but massive finger descended. It carried a terrifying aura which restricted everything within its coverage. No one could go near the area.
Yao Yao’s Sky-turning Seal had been restrained as well. She was unable to use its power. As the finger descended, a crack appeared on the surface of the seal. It showed signs of coming apart.
When Jiang Weiyang detected that, a ray of light shot from her fair hand and turned into an Ancient Rune. The immense energy inside it stopped the finger.
A figure wearing a white robe and a black lotus face mask appeared there. Although he was surprised, his gaze was still indifferent. It was as though he was emotionlessly looking at some ants.
When the other black-robed people registered his presence, they fervently knelt and pressed their heads against the floor.
“H-He’s a Dao Realm expert…”
The shrivelled old man was thrilled when he saw that Yao Yao was able to kill an Immortal King with her Sky-turning Seal. But when he registered the presence of the being in the Dao Realm, he was rooted to the spot. Fear and despair were written all over his face.
Regardless, Dao Realm experts were no different from Deities in the eyes of these cultivators who were struggling within the Immortal Dao System.
Both parties were not on the same level. The other party could easily kill them with a flash of thought.
“I knew that cultivators in the Immortal Dao System couldn’t come into contact with these. There must be a mastermind behind all of this.” When Yao Yao saw the white-robed person, she was not afraid at all. She only felt that her speculation was right.
“So what if you’ve found out about it? The Black Lotus will make an appearance and save everything from this calamity.” The white-robed man looked impassively and sympathetically at Yao Yao.
“Just an evil cult.” Yao Yao scoffed. It was a wonder where the Black Lotus Cult came from. They had been wandering around the edges of the Heavenslayers Alliance and fooling people. They taught those living beings to give up everything and become the followers of the Black Lotus Cult Leader.
Initially, she had no regard for an evil cult like this, but one day, she accidentally came across a ritual where they worshipped the Black Lotus Cult Leader. Then, she discovered something that she found inconceivable.
Later, she snatched a particular item and placed it inside the carriage. Those from the Black Lotus Cult then started hunting her down.
The white-robed person remained indifferent and silent. He took a look at the carriage covered in a black cloth. Then, he extended his hand in that direction and his immense aura ensured that Yao Yao could not move a muscle.
Yao Yao was furious at first, and then she was anxious, regretful, and fearful. It was her first time coming across an enemy in the Dao Realm. Also, she had used the Protective Amulet given to her by Gu Changge during the day.
Usually, she was confident and would act recklessly. However, when she lost the Protective Amulet and came across an enemy she could not defeat, she panicked and did not know what to do.
“Since you’ve done me a favour, I’ll resolve this trouble for you, Lady Yao Yao.” Just then, Jiang Weiyang, who had been by Yao Yao’s side, suddenly spoke. She was unaffected by the pressure.
She fished out a pouch from her sleeve and gently opened it. The next moment, a sword cry was heard as a green light shot out of it. It was a Nirvana Sword, which could not be forged but birthed by Heaven and Earth. There were no patterns on the surface.
