Chapter 809, The Menacing Approach

Zen and Lee Yun flapped their wings as they flew through the sky, their heads constantly lowered as they scanned the environment below.
The patrol work for the past two days had been conducted by the two of them, from dawn to dusk without a moment’s rest.
Of course, what never stopped was the patrol itself, but the two of them would still take turns rotating with other people.
For instance, Ai’er, Shu Feng and others would also help fly up to patrol the sky. The time periods they were responsible for were the crucial ones.
Specifically, very early in the morning and when the midday Sun was at its fiercest, because these two time periods were also when other Tribes would be travelling.
These two time periods had to be properly managed, otherwise they might miss some important intelligence.
Although they had initially wanted Zen and the others to patrol during these two important time periods, in the end, for the sake of caution, they decided against it.
Because the two of them had only just begun executing patrol missions, and what the Flame Dragon Tribe was about to face was an extremely dangerous matter.
In order to prevent the Flame Dragon Tribe from making any mistakes, everything had to be handled with particular care.
“We both need to be more careful. If we’re too careless, we’ll easily get discovered,” Zen said seriously.
Although they occupied this territory in the sky, they still had to be cautious.
Flying directly through the sky made them very easy to spot. If they were discovered by people from the Dark Scorpion Tribe, the plan might be cancelled outright.
Or perhaps they would change their plan at the last minute, which would not be a good thing for the Flame Dragon Tribe.
“I understand,” Lee Yun said, continuously flapping her thin wings.
The two pairs of dragonfly wings flapped at a particularly fast speed, one that the naked eye simply couldn’t capture.
*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*
Both of their wings were relatively small compared to others in the Tribe, so they had to flap particularly hard.
“Look quickly, is that someone over there?” Lee Yun suddenly pointed at a distant speck.
She was currently using binoculars to look in that direction, so she could capture even minute details.
“Hmm… that place is indeed very strange, but I can’t quite put my finger on it,” Zen also used his binoculars to look in that direction.
All he could see was a row of black dots, but these black dots appeared and disappeared intermittently, so he wasn’t quite certain whether they were people or not.
“Let’s go over and have a look first. Maybe it’s some other Tribe wanting to go to our Tribe’s Central Market,” Lee Yun suggested.
“Alright, let’s fly lower, but we absolutely mustn’t be discovered,” Zen instructed.
Many times when they discovered something amiss in the forest, lowering their flight altitude also required them to hide, because they could still very easily be discovered.
*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*
After the two of them slowly lowered their flight altitude, they concealed themselves amongst some tall, dense trees.
Zen and the others had already bathed before carrying out today’s mission, specifically to ensure their bodies carried no scent whatsoever.
“Be careful,” Zen slowly placed his finger against his lips. His orange eyes widened as he kept watching the location not far ahead.
“I understand.” Lee Yun likewise used the nearby leaves to conceal herself thoroughly.
The binoculars in her hands remained trained in the direction of the distant black dots, as if afraid of missing any intelligence.
“As expected, they’re people…” Zen frowned.
He always felt this group seemed rather unusual, different from those Tribes heading to the Flame Dragon Tribe’s Central Market.
“They look rather more ferocious, and they’re not carrying anything on them at all. It doesn’t look like they’re coming to our Tribe to trade.” Lee Yun analysed.
“Indeed, they’re not carrying any food on them at all. Instead, they’re all carrying weapons. This…” Zen frowned. He felt something was not quite right. This group looked as if they were approaching with malicious intent.
“Could this group be from the Dark Scorpion Tribe?” Lee Yun blinked her red eyes.
She examined this group’s appearance and discovered they were indeed different from the other Tribes people she had seen.
This group’s appearance didn’t look like that of people from normal Tribes. People from normal Tribes couldn’t possibly dress themselves like this.
They were entirely covered with various styles of black markings, and their hair was even chaotically braided.
Their bodies were also hung with all sorts of Beast Bones and beast teeth. Most importantly, the clothing on these people was primarily black.
There was another point that led the Lee Yun to analyse that they might be the Dark Scorpion Tribe: some of the Warriors had tattoos of patterns resembling scorpions on their bodies.
“They must be. So many people are all Warriors. If they were coming to trade, there’d be no need to send out so many people, right?” Zen frowned.
“Their current direction seems to be towards the Flame Dragon Tribe. It seems like we’ve found them.” Lee Yun put away her binoculars.
“We must hurry back to report to the Chieftain and the Shaman so that we can begin making preparations,” Zen also put away his binoculars.
The sparrow youth was already somewhat impatient. After patrolling for so many days, they had finally found their target.
“If we just leave like this, won’t we lose track of them? One of us needs to go back and one of us needs to stay here” Lee Yun said seriously.
Lee Yun had initially also thought of immediately returning to report, but if they went back and came again, it would be very difficult to find this group.
She remembered very clearly what Ai’er had said: always keep the target firmly in sight. Unless it was a desperate situation, they couldn’t lose track of the target.
“Alright, then you quickly return to report to the Chieftain and the Shaman. I’ll stay behind to watch them.” Zen patted his chest.
He thought to himself that the opportunity to do something for the Tribe had finally arrived. This time, he absolutely had to do well.
“Fine, you must conceal your tracks properly. You absolutely mustn’t let them discover you,” Lee Yun instructed.
She had originally wanted to stay behind herself, but thinking it over, her flight speed was faster than Zen’s.
The most important thing now was to quickly let the Shaman and Chieftain know about this matter, so there was no need to argue about who stayed and who returned.
“I know what to do. I’ll definitely stay far away from them. After all, I have binoculars!” Zen waved his hand.
He also knew that with his own strength, he definitely wasn’t a match for these three hundred or so people. Moreover, with binoculars allowing him to observe from a distance, he would certainly hide far away.
“I’ll return immediately and bring back new instructions as well,” Lee Yun turned and flapped her wings as she flew away.
Zen pulled at the nearby branches and continued to solemnly use his binoculars to watch the distant direction.
